"Garmin Nuvi 1250 GPS suckered onto the windscreen."
Hehehoho, not worried about it falling off? I was thinking of suckering mine to the bike windscreen but then Ive had it drop off the car windscreen before. At least in the car it usually lands on the seat!

Pretty much all tire shops are able to vulcanize punctures but they might be reluctant to do so on a bike since many do not have the proper equipment for removing motorcycles tires and for balancing motorcycle wheels.
They'll have to remove the tire from the wheel to vulcanize the puncture and then put the tire back on the wheel.
It's not rocket science but many car shops are reluctant to service bike tires.

Try a tire repair shop for cars. I dont think they call it vulcanizing in Thai, you'd have to know what the thai word for it is.
Thanks for the pointers, so I guess I will have to get the tire removed first unless anyone knows of a place that will remove the tire and Vulk it!

A while ago there was some talk on this forum about repairing a tire puncture by 'Vulcanising' as this is preferable to plugging with a worm style plug. It seemed to be the general conclusion that for a puncture on the rear tire in the centre of the tread this was an acceptable repair for general road use at the lowish speeds the 250 is capable of. Does anyone know where this can be done in Bangkok? I have been to the likes of Cockpit, B-Quick and Goodyear Eagle, plus a hand full of backstreet motorcyc tyre repair places and all offer only plugs.

Went to Lad Prao 64 and Lat Prow 44 Honda stealers today!
Lad Prao 64 had 1 red/silver ABS and wanted an astonishing 145k
Lad Prao 44 (much nicer dealership) had Grey/Silver and Red/Silver ABS for 130k (NO free helmet or jacket or roadside). Would not discount as they said this was the price they are getting for exporting them!
Im not in any hurry so im going to wait. My target price is 120k for ABS with 2 yrs theft and plate/tag ..........I would like a free HJC with that too!
APHonda LP S.64 is my local dealer,. They're a sub dealer, a bit weird but handy and do an ok job... mind you check the contrast bewtween front and back of house!
LP. S43 (Just before S43) is an ok independent. Sold me mine at 108 inlcuding all the extras.
Didn't know there was a Honda dealer on LP S44... are they good for after service stuff?
Tiffer, cant comment on the after service stuff at Honda LP 44 as I currently ride a Yamaha and it was my first trip there! All I can say is the set up looked much better and more official at Lad Proa 44, they have a big AC showroom and had about 6 CBR 250's on display. Its actually on LP road next to Soi 44. They told me they have another location at Mo Chit and supply bikes to the smaller sub dealers so they appear to be a big operation.
I'll probably take my bike there for service as it will be my local dealer..... I live at Huay Kwang.
Gonna give JR motors a call this week to get their price. They still have the non ABS advertised for 100k......... so hopefully the ABS will be cheaper there than 130k.
Noticed this on the JR motors web site, looks like some kind of power box! Can anyone translate it properly (not google)??

Dissapointed with mine, impossible to ride at anything lower than 3,000 revs..fuel economy nothing like the reports....good ride and seating etc but expected a smoother ride than a superdream 250 that was made in the 80s, and didnt get it.
Who on Earth wants to drive around under 3000rpm?
As for millage, I've put a 1000km+ on mine at just under 1b for 1 km, using Gasohol91 at 31b per liter.
Great value!
Incredible value! I struggle to get 1b per 1km from my Fino using Gasohol 91!
I am planning an upgrade to a CBR 250 but will wait for ABS!

Having read this thread last night Went to Bully's to give it a try. Overall I was fairly disappointed and wouldn’t call it good quality for a reasonable price! More like very average quality for an expensive price 690 ++!
Some of my observations and thoughts are they were 40 mins late to start serving (probably to ensure the purchase of a couple of drinks!)
The cheese board was gone within the first 20 mins and not replenished.
Most starters and salads were gone within the first 30-40 mins and not replenished.
Tiger prawn dish was gone within 30 mins and not replenished.
Mains were average quality and no gravy was available for the first 30 mins by which time it was too late for me. Turkey was so so.
Deserts were average and dry especially as there was no sauce served with them at all. Also didnt see any sticky toffee pudding that was advertised unless that went really fast and I didnt get to it quick enough!
There was a good 10-15 min wait in line to get to the buffet.
I Felt sorry for the people that came in at 3pm an hour after they started serving as there was not so much left!
Anyway I wont be doing it again next year! Tigerfish has the right idea!
Im interested to know how you guys got on with your search for good quality Christmas dinner at a reasonable price! Any better experiences?

Thanks guys for the advice. I think I will stick with the tourist visa and change status in Thailand if I get a job.
-
Possible, if you have at least 21 days left on your permitted to stay stamp. But you have to qualify for an extention for 1 year, so a lot of paperwork involved in maybe a short time.
Hi Mario thanks for the advice.
When I arrive I will have 60 days on the TR so do you think that will be enough time to get paperwork together to change to the non Imm B visa? Or do you think I'm better trying to get a Non Imm O visa from the Thai consulate here in Brisbane and then heading into Thailand with that to seek employment?
-
Ive done a fair bit of searching but cant seem to find an answer to this!!
I currently have a Tourist TR 60 day visa that I obtained from the UK Thai Consulate as I'm a British passport holder. Its a 2 entry visa and I have used 1 entry so far, now I'm about to head back into Thailand from Australia and will use the second entry.
My question is can I change this tourist type TR visa when I'm actually in Thailand to be a Non Immigrant B visa? My objective would be to stay in Thailand and get a job and work permit to teach English.
Right now as I am in Australia the other less convenient option would be to head to the Brisbane Thai consulate and apply for a Non Imm O visa that would allow me to seek work. However if I can simply enter Thailand and change the status of my TR tourist visa to non imm B that would appear to be the easiest route.
Any help or advice is much appreciated, thanks in advance

Ive got the same prob almost since new, and its really annoying as you cant use all the available torque in the higher gears! I thought it was just how the bike is, but if the timing can be adjusted that would be great! I guess its something we should ask Brian at Sumet to look into.
