  1. British behavior.....I wonder if there is some kind of trend here concerning Brits. hmmmm

Maybe One reason for this behavior is because in their homeland being the Brits they are so punishished with POLITICALLY CORRECT that when on holiday they so to speak and let their hair down and being a very friendly society being the Thais if have money it's a place to do things missed in childhood, whether be ride a scooter or ride a young woman, in case of lost confidence alcohol may play a role to boast even to the point of showing off to the locals and venting since cannot do in homeland.

Just remeber something like this, stupid people die and not reproduce. Now if you are getting upset by me calling these people stupid maybe you are part of the problem and this is why they want to get as far away from you as possible to be themselves.

  2. Australian jailed for life in Thailand

    post-128-1249449936_thumb.jpg

Andrew Hood pleaded guilty to the crime.

    (Reuters: Sukree Sukplang, file photo)

BANGKOK: -- An Australian man who confessed to trying to smuggle three kilograms of heroin out of Thailand has been sentenced to life in jail.

Police arrested Andrew Hood, 37, in early December last year as he tried to leave Bangkok airport for Sydney.

During Hood's trial earlier this month, two police officers gave evidence and showed photographs of a number of packages taped to his stomach and legs.

The packages contained heroin worth about $500,000.

When he was first detained, Hood told reporters he attempted to smuggle the drugs for the money.

Hood's feet were chained as he stood in the court as the verdict was read.

The judge told him he was due a death sentence, but his confession meant he was given a jail term instead.

Outside the court Hood told reporters he was disappointed with the life sentence.

Thai authorities have issued an arrest warrant for the 34-year-old Australian who was with Hood at the time he was arrested, but who escaped.

Here is the key.....An Australian man who confessed to trying to smuggle three kilograms of heroin out of Thailand.

OUT OF THAILAND!!!!!! NOT IN!!!!! Did he bring it with him as traveling salesman? Was it grown or processed in Thailand? Did another country smuggle in with no problems? Is it easy to access or buy? Is this a big problem with authorities or another made for TV because he can't pay the FINE.

  3. So don't continue to argue while your member is in her mouth... :)
duh, and maybe not while she is cooking in kitchen with knife, hmmm, maybe while she is not driving your car, hmmm, maybe while she is not writing checks for bills, hmmm, maybe after she is looking at credit card.........but to have a member...uh.......
  4. Hello again. I'm posting new post here.

I will be relocating to Bangkok end of this month and am currently looking for apartments/condo.

I know that the usual places for expat would be in CBD and I do prefer to live somewhere there.

However found a place that I particularly fond of in On Nut - I have been on BTS but never got to On Nut so can someone advise me what is that place like? Are there many restaurants, malls? Is it expat comfortable? I like the "modernisation" around Siam, Chidlom, Phloenchit, Asoke (have not been past Asoke unfortunately) so would I like On Nut?

    Greatly appreciate your assistance here.

It's depends on how much you can afford that. You can go to Lumpini Ville On Nut Condominium located on between On Nut Soi 3-5. Go to the property Office. They will have list of room for rent like studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom ....you can get the price with them or you can look at advertisement on the board outside office. That would be room for rent by the owner which will be little bit cheaper than rent with the property office. If you looking for service apartment you can go to another place called "Baan Sarannuch Apartment" .But I'm not sure that they will have room available or not. Because when I was there, my gf had to book in advance for 2 months, always full. You can go to check that coz not too far wallking from On Nut station, just go straight down to On Nut intersection then cross and walking around 2 mins, then you will see small road ,then you'll see the building, you can go to check that out or call 02-3331270 ext. 0 to check room available

  5. Anyone had problems ? I lost a video camera myself. I didn't report it however.

    From Bangkokairport website:

Tourist police in Thailand have indicated they believe a number of gangs are operating at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport, targeting outbound passengers. The police assumed that the bag was interfered with at some point between check-in and the aircraft.

"I believe there is more than one gang operating at the airport," said Tourist Police Chief Adis Ngamchitsuksri.

On 26 February, two suspects were arrested after passenger Mohammed Umar contacted the police about items stolen from his luggage. The 57-year-old Qatari left Bangkok on 11 February and found when he arrived in Doha that his luggage had been damaged, the lock broken and a mobile phone and gold ring had been taken.

The police assumed that the bag was interfered with at some point between check-in and the aircraft. The passenger was alerted that someone was using his designer Samsung mobile, due to a special feature that allows the phone to be tracked even when a new SIM card has been inserted.

Investigators tracked the suspects by the new phone number, and found that the phone and ring had been sold to shops in metropolitan Bangkok. The items were recovered.

The thieves in this case worked for the baggage handling service at Suvarnabhumi Airport that was commissioned by Qatar Airways.

My experience has been the taxi drivers stealing. My wife left her cell phone in a cab and when we got out as we were walking I asked to use her phone, she couldn't find it but she used it in the taxi. We went to our apartment and called her number which was out of service. We then called the taxi service and got the drivers phone number and called him, he denied seeing the phone. After calling the main service many times my Thai wife said they already sell phone.

  6. When I read these stories it terrifies me. I have never used drugs, but the thought of a false positive, and subsequently being sent to the woefully overcrowded Phuket Provincial Prison for who knows how long scares the hel_l out of me. From where I am from, this blatant violation of personal liberty would be unconscionable.

I used drugs in the past but that is a long time ago, but i would be worried about a false positive too. Or about corrupt police trying to get you to pay up or frame you. Its just that i don't trust the police in Thailand that much.

My job is so easy on forums like this.

In order to make the chase a bit more challenging

Let me provide a few hints

The purple color is just how we actually bust you.

It is only so that you can understand why you are under arrest

No one needs that grape koolaid stuff any more

We first monitor the falang forums for evidence.

Drug use results in both paranoia & memory failure.

It also brings on an inflated sense of what constitutes personal liberty

wherever it was you were from...we flag occurrences of "personal liberty"

I think you boys are giving yourselves away.

Expect our visit a few minutes before 0500

even if you don't go to the speakeasy tonight

We never mistakenly haul anyone in.

The good citizens on innocent vacation

    Remember everything,

    Fear nothing,

Are concerned far more about personal responsibility back where they are from

We know they are clean just as they themselves do....it is written all over them.

If I was unexpectedly thrown into your position,

I'd quietly invest in window tint film, after market magnifying rear view mirrors and good tires

    But above all,

don't let on that you are worried about it...

Narc Officers look first for the tiniest telltale hints of paranoia

insignificant things to the untrained eye,

eye twitches, scratching the side of the nose, moving feet while seated

This Slippery body language is like a beacon on a fog horn to us

    Be bold,

    have loads of personal liberty,

do your mess right out in the open,

because we always check the back rooms first.

Do your deals outdoors under a streetlight in bright clothing,

    we will ever suspect that

Also, Our manual teaches that druggies collect and discard many women.

If you only ever are seen with the same respectable woman,

you can do whatever your personal liberty says.

Finally, Narc Officers are trained that exactly half of all Druggies prefer ugly women.

Make sure your one steady is pretty, and every other day you are safe.

    Enjoy your stay in Thailand.

It's the things I didn't tell you that I will still bust you on.

    So your paranoia is justified.

You won't necessarily need your memory

Your personal liberties will be returned in the same manila envelope as your jewelry and civilian clothing

along with your release papers and expulsion orders.

    Oh yes,

There are no Visa formalities at the Phuket Provincial Prison,

we handle all your 90 day extensions

We are truly a one-stop accommodation.

Wow! To the point and direct! I have to agree but the only part was the ugly Thai woman part, they are all beautiful, (and some lady boys too, wink wink...lol, my wife tells me who is lady boy and sometimes it amazes me).

  7. Alcohol Sales Banned on Songkran Holidays

The unofficial word is out. Alcohol sales are to be banned on Songkran Holidays from the 13th to the 15th of April this year.

Public Health Minister said the ban may be limited to certain areas with high risk and only during certain time frames.

The Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control Director Samarn Futrakul said that after receiving suggestions from consultants of the Public Health Ministry, the office has unofficially decided that alcohol sales, only to Thai consumers, would be banned from April 13th to 15th this year.

Meanwhile, sales to foreign consumers will be allowed as usual. Director Samarn said Public Health Minister Wittaya Kaewpradai will review the policies before making the official announcement.

Moreover, roadblocks to arrest drunk drivers were found to be effective in reducing motor accidents during the holidays. Alcohol sales in areas where the most motor vehicle accidents occur will also be banned around times of heavy traffic. Policies will be evaluated and reviewed for next year.

If the unofficial decision is approved by Minister Wittaya, it still needs to be approved by the National Alcohol Control Policy Committee, of which the Prime Minister is Chairman, before it is officially announced by the Office of the Prime Minister.

This is totally cool, I can bootleg thai for alcohol?

  8. 5 injured in Red-VS-Red clash in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai - Five people were injured members of a red-shirted group attacked members of other red-shirted groups in this northern city Thursday night, police said.

The clash occurred at 10:30 pm at a rally site in front of Chiang Mai Railway station.

Three groups of red-shirted people - the Chiang Mai for Democracy, the Chiang Mai Liberal, and the Thaksin Loving People Club - held the rally.

These groups' leaders said they have left the Chiang Mai Loving People 51 because of conflicts of opinions.

They said the Chiang Mai Loving People sent its members to attack demonstrators at the rally site, injuring five of them.

One of the leaders, Mahawan Kawang, said he and other groups decided against joining the Chiang Mai Loving People because they could not agreed with the working style of the Chiang Mai Loving People.

Mae Ping police station deputy chief Pol Lt Col Samphan Sirima said the attackers and the injured used to be allies and work together.

I keep telling my thai wife I want to start the purple shirts movement of oopsies, at least they will be entertaining and fix your hair and nails while we protest.

  9. For his birthday, little Joe asked for a 10-speed bicycle. His father said, 'Son, we'd give you one, but the mortgage on this house is $280,000 & your mother just lost her job. There's no way we can afford it.' The next day the father saw little Joe heading out the front door with a suitcase. So he asked, 'Son, where are you going?' Little Joe told him; 'I was walking past your room last night and heard you telling Mom you were pulling out.

Then I heard her tell you to wait because she was coming too. And I'll be damned if I'm staying here by myself with a $280,000 mortgage & no bike.

    I think this was me!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. You DID get robbed, not almost - they stole 40Baht from you.

I always carry a throw away wallet (and I don't wear a watch). If they want my wallet, they get the throw away one. Fake or out of date/cancelled cards and a few small notes. I never had caried a wallet, so keep money either in a money belt (for real money) or squashed down in my jeans pocket. Wife told me a long time ago, never to wear your gold or carry anything that is not needed - then if you get robbed you losse very little. I have a cheap Buddha pendant that I wear day to day, the gold is for special occasions only.

Having said that I have never been mugged - have been pick-pocketed a few times (though in the UK and Phillipines, never in Thailand!). I rarely go placed on my own either - I don't ride a push bike - I am usually goin to 7-11 if I am, and only take enough to buy what I'm after.

Anything you want to take against someone is likely to cause you to get shot - either by the muggers or the police - so don't. Only thing that you can take to help with safety is some other people, friends or family.

If you have to ride a bike, is there not a club you can join to ride in groups?

I agree. I carry a fake wallet. My girl has been pick pocketed at the night market to which they stole her phone. I keep my valuables in my front pocket such as cell phone, real money and credit card. Back pocket for throw away wallet. But I also always travel with a thai and stick to well lite streets on the main roads. If I have to venture off its taxi time. Another is to not act drunk or disabled.....when approached just give the international no wave..don't think he is going to tackle you so just keep walking...after going to Cambodia and the vultures there I was happy to get back to Bangkok.

  12. Pillion passenger on motor bike snatches necklace from guy sitting on baht bus???

If true this the most dumbest and disparate thing to do as the robber could have easily lost his hand on all the sharp metal...

Give the guy a break, when I travel on Baht Bus I am always hanging my head out the little window showing my bling, sometimetimes I even fall out. LOL :o

  13. They had another segment on thaitv about this tonight. Yes, that's the gist of what they

were saying, the notes are literally all over the country from the south to parts in issan.

Also "detector" machines apparently have surfaced. They seem to have a miniature

blacklight on them and I'm not sure what else? At the carrefour today, I paid with a

1k note and the girl made a big show about checking the bill with her machine next

to the register. Basta_d farangs I'm sure are the sole root of the entire problem. :o

Now I know why when I pay 1000baht I get looks, getting money from atm in 1000's. But I have to say this fake money comes from let's say rogue states-countries where producing money from weathier countries out produces printing their own currency. They have the tech and travel (greedy and uneducated) to low tech vendors that demand cash for services. It goes back (alchemy) to making gold from iron. Start a country, depress the peeps, print the money, distrubute threw other countries and profit because money does grow on trees and plants and todays economy worth more than gold if can take 1$ and make 100$. If I were smart I would just print money too, its too easy. 100,000$ buys a copy machine that will reproduce, the hard part is the water marks and the paper, third world contries use a lower grade then say sweden. But it feels the same to the untrained hand.

  14. Why do people still insist the current government was elected by a majority? Sure, the PPP got more votes than the other parties but that is because they BOUGHT the votes in Isaan! Until this country finds a way to block vote buying, new elections are not the solution -- the results will be the same.

Maybe a coup and another period of military rule will give the country time to insure truly free elections.

Do you try to tell me that the PAD did not try to buy votes? Sure they did, they offered my GF 300B to vote for them!

The people have to stop wanting money and then it might be a fair election here... Its all about money!

    :o:D:D

    You made my way......

What fools the PAD are....offering money for the vote even they aren't a Party and can't be voted for :D:D:wai:

To add: most probably another paid poster who did not read his script carefully :P

Stop being a child - we all know what he meant.

As UG said; the Dems and MRT all buy votes - welcome to Thai politics. In any election by the masses MRT wins easily, even when the army change the constituation to stop him (and protect themselves from their illegal actions), ban his rallies and allow Dem / Pad rallies, control MRT areas through martial law, etc, etc. Don't forget how onesided the run up to the last election was, and MRT still ended up in power.

    I voted no.

    1) The army have no part in politics. Full stop. No, Thailand isn't a special case, it just says this as an attempt to hold back democracy. (When I say it, I mean certain currupt groups that don't want democracy to come because they won't hold the purse-strings any longer).

    2) Have you not noticed a cycle? Should it be repeated yet again?

Anyways, my feeling is that things are likely to change big time from the 5th, for the worse. Burma here we come.

    I agree
  15. Is coup needed? how much would it take for the army to round up the trouble makers and restore law and order??????????

which trouble makers? you mean the somchai cabinet?

get rid of somchai and the PAD disperses and there is no more problem.

much easier to move one man than 50,000

oh,, lets let one percent of one percent of the population dictate the rules of leadership. Monarchy or democracy, lets just go socialism or fasism and admit the truth.
