Off-topic post removed that also broke a forum rule about external content.
14) You will not post any copyrighted material except as fair use laws apply (as in the case of news articles). Please only post a link, the headline and the first three sentences.
In this case it was a number of images of text.

Sounds like he was a decent man but sorry to say I have never heard of him.
MAYBE IT IS YOUR TIME

3) You will not post about activities or links to websites containing such material that are illegal in Thailand. This includes but is not limited to: gambling, betting, pornography, illegal drugs, fake goods/clothing, file sharing of pirated material, pyramid schemes, etc. Discussion of the above is permitted only as news items, but never as a "how to" topic.

A post quoting a post number rather than using the supplied quoting function (and its replies) have been removed. If you quote a post number then we remove a post behind it you are then quoting the wrong post. Use the quoting function if discussing another member's content.
Further to this I have removed huge swathes of off-topic conversation. This topic is not about promotion in the military.

Post referencing another post by number removed. Please use the quote function. As we moderate the forums and remove posts the numbers will change. Quoting a number may end up with that post referencing the wrong post.

Image of a 3rd party who, at this time, has no involvement in the case has been removed along with a reply. It is in the forum rules and Thai law. Sorry guys.
6) You will not post comments that could be reasonably construed as defamation or libel.
Defamation is the issuance of a statement about another person or business which causes that person to suffer harm. It does not have to be false to be defamatory. Libel is when the defamatory statement is published either in a drawing, painting, cinematography, film, picture or letters made visible by any means, or any other recording instruments, recording picture or letters, or by broadcasting or spreading picture, or by propagation by any other means. Defamation is both a civil and criminal charge in Thailand. -
Very sad day today. I am going to re-read all his books, in order, to build up to reading his last book. Should be done in a couple of years. Good to know I'll get to discover the Discworld again and then again with my little girl as she grows up.

Replies to a post hidden yesterday have been removed. Sadly this has involved the removal of a fair conversation about translations in court. Unfortunately that is the result of including a removed post in a reply. This seemed to have happened accidentally as the 1st reply came right after my last post.
Apologies.

Post removed for a generalisation about Thai nationals and their ability to speak English.
11) You will not post slurs, degrading or overly negative comments directed towards Thailand, specific locations, Thai institutions such as the judicial or law enforcement system, Thai culture, Thai people or any other group on the basis of race, nationality, religion, gender or sexual orientation.
For the record I know MANY Thai nationals with outrageous command of the English language, both spoken and written. I have a firm belief that there are more Thais capable of excellent English than there are foreigners capable of excellent Thai.

Not from where I'm sitting

Try that link. You'll find it is a TOT owned router address serving a page as part of a filter. This is the common re-direct for banned material. The reason you are getting a malware indicator is an overzealous av/malware/spybot detection routine triggered because this page is having information served that hasn't been listed as approved (such as the googleapis are).

The way the mechanics of this website software are structured, there is no good way either by quote or partial quote, post #, or URL to reference a post by a Member that is subsequently deleted by Moderation.
Naturally if the post is removed you can't refer to it. Further to that we will remove any posts that quote the removed post.
Sure but you may have obliquely referred to the post before it was subsequently removed and then you get comments that your post doesn't make sense. I guess in the future I will have to be more circumspect in referencing the posts from posters who routinely have their posts removed by the Mod Squad.
I believe the correct term is "Moderator Team".
If you are referring to a post you are commenting on it. If you are doing that then good netiquette is that you quote the post. If you quote the post then your post would be removed stopping this happening.

Post mentioning royalty and replies removed.
1) You will not express disrespect of the King of Thailand or any one member of the Thai royal family, whether living or deceased, nor to criticize the monarchy as an institution.
By law, the Thai Royal Family are above politics. Speculation, comments and discussion of either a political or personal nature are not allowed when discussing HM The King or the Royal family.*
Discussion of the Lese Majeste law or Lese Majeste cases is permitted on the forum, providing no comment or speculation is made referencing the royal family.
To breach these rules may result in immediate ban.
