  1. Local Number for hotel bookings is 09 834-3561 ask to speak with Khun Ooy she speaks english very very well.

  2. I wai the mamasong down at the local watering hole. Not because she is in a higher class or older but because she buys me an occasional beer. Other than that I wait for the high sign from the Mrs. as to when to wai or not

  3. actually things fall of airplanes all the time just yesterday at SFO during engine start up pieces of the sound insulation blow the back of an S-80 engine while nothing hit the fan blades it did make a big boom, but the plane was still flyable. I am sure that poor guy who got hit would had suffer much more damage had it been "green" ice from the lavatories :o

  4. I use the ICQ from the anywhere ICQ page I know some out there have tried it and it doesn't work but. I have not had a problem sending to my wifes cell phone. But have had trouble sending to DTAC phones or non web enabled phones
  5. I work for an airline and in our computer the best price I could find was on China Air at 762.00 USD RT from BkkLaxBkk. If you are a retired airline employee can't you get an ID90? I don't think the seats are very full ;-). I myself will be paying 225.00 on Eva When I come in June. As to flying China Air well lets just say they are one step up ( abeit a very small step) from Pakistan Air
  6. Last summer my son who was aged 10 at the time stay with his mother and family for 87 days on a 30 day tourist visa. When we went to extend his visa we were told at immigrations that there was no need because he was under 14. When we left the country after 87 days they waive the over stay and let us proceed without any problem. I have done this for the past 3 summers and have yet to have a problem with an overstay with him. He is a US citizen but I don't know if that makes any difference
  7. I am an American citizen aged 44 living and working in the US. My wife is a Thai national aged 37 who lives and works in Thailand we own our own business. My son aged 11  is a U.S. citizen, and currently is enrolled in school here in the U.S.. I would like to send my son to a bilingual school in Thailand and would appreciate any information reguarding what type of visa etc. that would be needed. He has been tenently (sp) accepted to 2 different schools in the Pattaya area.
  8. I too am interested in a private school in the pattaya area. I was wondering besides the big international schools are the course taught in english?  I know the thai school year has started all ready do they accept transfers mid term? My son is 11 and his mother is Thai and I am American.
  9. AS to the interview process, I myself was quite lucky. The man doing the interview just happened to be an old teacher from my hometown. He asked my wife three questions (did she know what I did for a living, where we were going to live and how long she had known me.) the rest of the interview was about how much the town had changed. I then had another interview process 2 year later and just renewed her green card last month with no hassle even tho she only stays in the US 4 months out of the year. So really it all depends on your attitude and who you get. I have always been really overly polite and never raised my voice even after all the hoops they make you jump thru. Good Luck
  10. Add On...................

I wonder if the AIS number needs to have SMS activated? But as I said ICQ.com has a listing of Phone Companies that you can send on. and AIS is on there just sent a message at 11:30 pm California time and it got thru no prob

Ahh the miracle of modern technology!!

  11. George, I send them two to three times a week to my wifes AIS number I use the web page format and have never had a problem connecting to her, She on the other hand cannot send back to me because of my works firewall. It's usually just a call me message since her cell phone rates calling the U.S. are actually cheaper than mine. And i pay the bills anyway
  12. Yes there is one free sms program availible if you join ICQ.com on their web page you can send SMS to thailand and they can respond provided you don't have a firewall.
  13. AS I work for an airline I can tell you that for your money that EVA is the best of the lot Cathay is very good also a but a bit more pricey. Singapore is rated the best but on the expensive end. I would stay away from most middle east airlines and would rather walk than take China Air. I would to fly Thai but there scheduling is off as I don't care to arrive in BKK after midnight (comming from America) after a 20 hour flt.

    Cheers all love this sight
