  1. Water comes from the sky, although not free everywhere, In this magic country I see people who have a little, some a lot and most just a bit, all are clean, happy and beautiful people, we as farangs could learn a lot from these wonderful people, and yes most of these farang backpacking people have wondered the world, get a good wash and presnt yourselves in a clean and respectable manner.

  2. My beautifull wife and myself married in january this year, once the marriage had been made official at the amphur my wife changed her name there and then, took approx ten minutes, cant remember how much, not much, received a new id card straight away with the new process, changed her passport one week later in bangkok, easy.

The dowrie up to you, things are different in Thailand as is every country, respect your wife and her custom, its the respect of the offer, not how much.

  3. Hi,

My wife and I have a home in Nth Thailand, we proudly fly the Thailand Flag, and I love it, my wife wants to fly the Australian Flag down lower than the Thai flag, if you can imagine a roof top and at the top is the Thai flag, lower down would be the Australian Flag.

Can anyone tell me if this is aloud or not, is it breaking the Thai law?

I don't want to upset anybody so would like to abide by the law of Thailand.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  4. Hi everybody,

Hope someone can help me I intend to move to Thailand from Australia this year, I am already married to a thai wife, I will be appling with a marriage visa one year current 200000 bht, this will be my first application, if i apply before July does that mean I need 200000 bht and when i go to renew each year I require 200000 bht in the bank or will it be 400000, could someone please help as I am a little bit confused.

    Thanks.

  5. Hi,

My name is Scott from Australia and I am in need of some help, I married my Thai wife in January, I am looking to live in Thailand later in the year, more than likely after July (the new laws), I know that I have to get a Non - Immigrant Visa from Thai Embassy in Australia for 90 Days and I know the cost, all of that is ok.

My confusion is, when I get to Bangkok and go to immigration and apply for a one year marriage (dependant) visa what is the cost of that application in Thai Baht and how much is the cost to re-new the application each year? Also how much do I need in my Thai bank account? Is it 400,000 Bht, 800,000 bht? Do I need to show how much is coming in each month? If so how much?

My concern is the annual cost and original cost of the application as no one can seem to tell me, if the 400,000 bht is the initial amount in my account and I leave it there and have money come in every month in the next year do i have to put in another 400,000 bht or as long as at least that amount is still there am I ok as long as they don't change the laws?

I really appreciate if any one can help me so I can plan for my future, also for this visa is a medical required, I would have no issues just wondering, also my age is 37 so I am not applying for a Retirement Visa in case you were wondering.

Lokk forward hopefuly for some replies, thanks.

    Scott. :o
