I think it does, if he's no longer a US citizen. Not mentioned in the article.
There’s a form he’ll have to submit, saying he’s been tax compliant for the past five years, then he is no longer a US tax payer; as long as he has no income from US sources.

Despite the Treaty of Amity, there are still certain restrictions on U.S. investment as follows:
Owning land;
Engaging in inland transportation and communication industries;
Engaging in fiduciary functions;
Engaging in banking involving depository functions;
Engaging in domestic trade in indigenous agricultural products;
Exploiting land or other natural resources

In the civilized world all pedophiles are registered and monitored by the police, but not here in Thailand. Good to know his address so people in the neighborhood can keep their children safe and keep him away from schools and playgrounds.
The point is, he hasn’t been convicted of any of these charges, yet. I’m not sure how having his address published will keep him away from a playground. If anything, it’ll force him to move someplace where the neighbors don’t know of the accusations.
Worse case scenario, he is murdered by a vigilante and later proven innocent. Just wait for the trial.

Wow, multiple post asking for the lynching of someone yet to stand trial. And someone even posting the accused man’s address. How is that acceptable on this forum?

I’m with you, Despondent Foreigner. Everything should be the same for everyone. Let’s march into our company’s HR and demand Thai wages too.

1600 baht. That's what I would be doing
Can't understand the logic in adding hours to save $40 as a jet lagged tourist
Mr. T taxi 1400฿ DM to Pattaya.

Of course, Thai people are very honest. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard screams of “hansome man” as I walked by.

Too late now, but why did you go the official Thai marriage and marriage visa route and not the quicker, fiancée visa option?
Also, will the Thai divorce court award you ten of the bottles of Johnnie Walker, 20 half-bottles or joint custody of all of it?

Too late for me. With high blood pressure to deal with won't be smoking anything at all ever again.
Here in California, the shops sell edibles, ie gummy worms, hard candy or chocolates. I haven’t tried any as my employer likes to look at my urine.

I think buying a magnifying glass would be a lot less risky.
As long as it isn’t used in direct sunlight.

Carrying a weapon, purely for ones own defence, mainly an American habit of course, may be excused, although, I as a Brit, wholly disapprove.
But this is clearly not the case here. To pull out a weapon in a public place and make threatening gestures indicate intent. And that would not happen if he did not have in his possession.
What other reason could be for his actions?
First you say that carrying a weapon indicates intent, then you say making threatening gestures indicates indent. So, is that two counts of intent or one count of possession of the knife and one count of threatening with the knife, like how he really was charged.
-
Yes it does. But that's not the point. Carrying a weapon indicates intent, whether it is used to threaten or not.
No, it doesn't.

I suspect if a farang were found threatening someone with a knife, the penalty would be somewhat higher than 100 Baht. Ludicrously small fine. When was that Act and the penalties last updated, 1870?
Doesn't it say 100 baht fine for having the knife and the penalty for threatening with the knife is 1000 baht and/or a month in lock up?

Be very careful buying a Kindle, I bought a Paperwhite about 3 years ago and now cannot use it, Amazon stopped me buying anymore ebooks, the first time it was password problems, now it's payment problems.
I am left with a Kindle which is now no use to me once I have read all the books I have left. Shower of incompetent swine.
It sounds like your Kindle is fine; but your Amazon account is the problem. I've had Kindles for a long time and never buy from Amazon. There are free ebook sites where you can legally download books that are either out of copyright or offered for free. Also, there are sites where books can be downloaded not so legally. You should get the app called Calibre to organize your ebook collection and it also converts .pdf files and Nook books into something that can be used on your Kindle.

Ah, a third.This is the first time I've heard of this person, so curiosity got hold of me and did a Google search under images for
Rojjana (Yui) Phetkanha.
For some reason, I got this pic.
I guess too much partying and drugs will do this to you:
There is funny, then not so funny. I wish you would remove that photo. To rise then fall is not really something we should find humour in. (Especially depicting her as a monkey) Could happen to anyone of us at any time, and I am sure we would be hoping for a bit of compassion as well. (And I am never this serious)
I am sorry, but I must decline your wish, unless otherwise instructed by the Admin of this site.
Nowhere did I say it was her and you can assume all you want to what you may think I implied.
Too much partying and drugs can make a monkey of oneself.
If, perchance, you take this just as personally as you do seriously, then that makes it your personal problem, not mine.
Non the less, do not mistake my expression as a lack of compassion for that I do possess.
I do not wish to belittle her downfall, but a bit of humor is needed at times like these, as long as I am not directing it towards her, as you falsely imply.
Good day to you.
One day you may fall to the disease of alcoholism/addiction or mental illness. Would like us all to laugh at you?
Have some compassion, ANYONE can suffer like Yui.
You'll have to forgive these guys. They have problems of their own.

A bit of quick research will reveal the culprits name who's spreading the rumours. I suspect it's a man named Michel de Nostradame. Of course, he's been dead a few years now - 456 to be precise.... And I doubt he had a Facebook account
He does!

which he believes was the short audible “boom” that residents experienced throughout Phuket
Where do they find these guys?
