I purchased two Hondas a few years ago. There was no negotiation on price. It was pay sticker or leave it. You can get them to throw in extras such as 1 year free first class insurance, window tinting, etc.

I picked up my LTRWP Visa in Bangkok yesterday. My timeline:
November 12 - Applied for Visa
November 30 - Notified of approval
December 7 - Made appointment for December 14
December 14 - Travelled from Hua Hin to Bangkok and obtained Visa.
I was surprised at how fast this went, but to clarify some things, my application was pretty straightforward. I am American. My income was a mix of two pensions, Social Security, and farmland that is cash rented. I also used a cash position in a high yield savings account at a bank in lieu of a health insurance policy.
So, I think it was easy for the analyst at BOI to verify everything, thus the reason for the speedy approval.
I did ask about the annual reporting that has to be done and I wouldn't be optimistic that anything will change, thus a annual trip to Bangkok will be necessary if you don't leave the country during the year.

In a review on Google maps of the One stop center and the Investment center they stated that men must wear long pants. If they arrive wearing shorts they will not be allowed inside.
Can someone who has received their visa please comment on this? Thanks.

I found the exact one I need on Amazon , but I have never ordered anything in Thailand from Amazon. I looked at Amazon international and they do not have a Thai section.
I do have Amazon Prime, and bank accounts in the US, and Use them extensively when I am in the US. How do I order something from Amazon with my Thai account.?
Go to your USA account and add a second mailing address, your Thai one. Then select it as where you want the item to ship to. Then do another search for the Roku remote. If the seller will ship to Thailand you will see it as available to purchase. If they won't ship to Thailand you won't see it in your search listings. Easy.

I have ordered many things from Lazada that have come from China. Never had a problem. I think your order will arrive. Check the tracking every couple of days to get an update. Item should arrive within two weeks or so.

My visa extension of stay renewal date is April 13.
I bought a health insurance policy from Pacific Cross. They made the policy effective April 13, 2020 to April 13, 2021.
Yesterday March 17 I went to immigration to do my extension. The extension was approved with no questions asked about the insurance dates.
I am in Hua Hin.

I found out that my credit union has a no fee debit card, so now I deposit my payments into my credit union and withdraw whatever money I need (up to the amount limits set by my credit union which currently is $5K) at the teller/counter (to avoid Bangkok Bank ATM withdrawal limits) of Bangkok Bank. The conversion rate I have been receiving from Bangkok Bank has been the TT rate which was the same rate I was getting when depositing my retirement payments directly into my Bangkok Bank account. AND, on the back end of these debit withdrawals, being a MasterCard debit card, I receive the MC foreign currency exchange rate which is always (so far), better than the TT rate. Meaning, when I go into Bangkok Bank to withdraw $1,000 USD using my debit card, I receive in baht the money based on the TT rate and in a few days the actual withdrawal charge applied to my credit union account is less than $1,000.
Just curious, does Bangkok Bank charge a fee to do the over the counter withdrawl or is it free? Also, did you have a problem getting them to do this? I was in my BB branch one time and I witnessed someone trying to do this and the teller refused and told them to use the ATM machine.

Had the breakfast buffet at the LK Empress this morning and saw a sign notifying of a price increase from 190 baht to 220 baht effective November 1, 2014. This is a price increase of about 15.75%.
I guess it was to be expected as Casa Pascal increased from 195 baht to 225 baht several months ago.
Food prices are going up.

The swimming pool at the top of Mike's Shopping Mall might fit your requirements. It is open to the public.

Well, it seems that the powers that be have changed their minds.
I flew back into Don Muang last night and tried to get on the free shuttle to Suvarnabhumi by showing my inbound boarding pass from the Air Asia flight I just arrived on. NO GO!
The desk agent wanted to see an onward boarding pass for a flight departing Suvarnabhumi. When I told him I didn't have one, he asked me where I was going. I replied Pattaya, and he sent me to the A1 bus (30 baht) that goes to the skytrain or Mochit bus terminal.

The OP said he already has a thai bank account with 500k in it.

What about DUI laws and riding an electric bike. I assume you would not be stopped at a checkpoint?

I renewed my motorbike tax and insurance about three weeks ago.
On Saturday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. (until 1:00 p.m. ? I think) the motor vehicle department sets up a table at the Big C (South Pattaya Rd & Sukhumvitt Rd). You go upstairs and as you are entering Big C go along the aisle between the cashiers and the small retail shops and you will see the table.
They couldn't sell me insurance and they sent me over across the street to AA Insurance (also opens at 9:00 on Saturdays) to get the insurance. AA charged me the actual price plus a 20 baht service charge. I then went back to Big C and purchased the tax sticker. Save time and go to AA Insurance first.
Very easy.

Well, if the OP is wanting something comparable to the Nana Hotel, staying in a 500 baht place behind the Wrong Way isn't going to cut it. I think the best option for him is still the Laithong/Ant Bar combo.

Well, I think many stay home alot. The Wrong Way Bar is an expat hangout but there are no hotels nearby. Also, the Outside Inn Guesthouse has great food, be sure to check it out. It is also a good place to stay. Taxis are plentiful and cheap. They always use their meters.I see, the hotel looks okay actually. So what do local farang do to entertain themselves?

Nightlife is pretty limited in Ubon, but the Laithong Hotel would be a good choice. The bar next door named "Ant" is very good.

I live here and I think tourist numbers are way down. It seems very quiet and the hotels mostly empty.

My understanding is that they can take the bonus miles back if you cancel the card within the first six months after receiving it. You will be okay.

Minivans meet al Bangkok Airways flights and you will be able to get to your hotel for about 250-300 baht.

I flew back into Don Muang this morning and am happy to report that you do not need a onward boarding pass from Suvarnabhumi to get on the free shuttle at Don Muang.
Yes, they want to see a boarding pass before allowing you on the bus, but showing them your inbound boarding pass for the flight you just arrived on does work.
Arrived at Suvarnabhumi in 45 minutes and then took the Bell Bus Service (booked online in advance, 230 baht) and was dropped off at my condo.
I understand the posters here recommending MR T Taxi, but my time isn't that valuable, and to save over 1,000 baht each way just to arrive only a couple of hours later is well worth it in my opinion.

When I asked them last time they said two to three hours. But couple of years ago when I took early morning belltravel bus to airport it took often only 1:20.
I believe the worst case would be three hours on heavy traffic day.
Does it allways take highway 7 directly to airport?
I used the Bell service yesterday at 1 p.m. The bus arrived at Suvarnabhumi at exactly 2:30, so 1.5 hours for the trip.
Yes, they use Highway 7.

I have an account with Capital One 360 (formerly ING Direct).
I do an ACH transfer from them to Bangkok Bank New York at no charge from Capital One 360. Bangkok Bank then takes their usual small cut and sends it over to my account here in Thailand.
You can open a Capital One 360 account online. I highly recommend them. Do a Google search for Capital One 360 if interested.
ACH transfers are much cheaper than Swift Transfers.
