  1. looks to be a meteor falling at a low altitude.

Meteor? Don't you think it's moving a bit too slow for that?

    Airplane: less than 1000 km/h

    Meteor: 100-200.000 km/h

Not when the trajectory is more parrallel with the horizon. There are many eye witness sightings of meteors falling at this type of trajectory.

Your quoted speeds are for meteors in outer space, not once they've hit the earth's atmosphere, slow down and lose mass.

have you ever seen a meteor going down?

These speeds i mention are NOT for the the speeds in outer space, but for the speeds entering our atmosphere.

They would slow down a bit, but not that much, if you had ever seen one you would know.

To be specific, the speeds of meteors hitting earth is between 40.000 km/h to 260.000 km/h..

You would see a difference between a plane and a meteor.

  2. Is it better to limit your daytime drinking to Singha light which is a low alcohol content or San Migel light which has a low calorie content.

That depends if you are a fat bastard or have a liver problem. I can't believe you drink *before* you go to the gym!!

I'd suggest the Singha Light during the day, if you want to keep your head together anyway. The San Miguel definitely tastes a lot better though (I think they make Singh Light by adding a bit of water to the regular stuff!).

Try drinking a beer *after* they gym. You won't need as many to have the desired effect...

yes, san miguel tastes so good it is hard to stop once you start, hence I have missed some of my planned workouts.

I guess 1-2 singha lites are ok, just to take the "edge off" before facing the outside world of Pattaya. :o

I converted to San Mig Light from heineken about 9 months ago but have yet to see my waistline shrink. I want my money back! (I wish). Seriously though, we're told it's low cal but there's no nutritional info on the bottle. Anybody know how many cals in a bottle?

San Mig light got 98 cals...

  3. Wondering how a 29 yr old guy qualifies to stay here for 2 years. Thought they put limits on visa runs.I'm retired, married to Thai lady and I still have to do 90 days report, and yearly renewal.

By the way some of you guys are real hard-a-ses. Punish the guy then deport him whats with killing him?

I hate that yaa baa crap too , but how about give him 10 yrs in hel_l then deport his dumb

    as-.Get him out of here.

You have to be joking, right?

He could have been married (as he also said he was) that's 1 year visas

He could have ED visa, that's 15 months visas

He could have a company, although i doubt that in this case. but that would also be 1 year visas...

anyway, i don't think it's a problem vist tourist visas either, as long as you know where not to go... (malaysia)

  4. 1) Drugs should be decriminalised worldwide and their supply closely regulated.

Yeah, 'cos they're easy to regulate when they're legal. Huh?

    Easier...as with alcohol.

How much homemeade illegal alcohol (beer, wine etc.) have you drunk in the last year? Probably none, because you prefer to be sure about the quality...right? Besides, as long as it isn't too expensive, you don't really need to buy it illegaly... right? :)

If it was legal with better prices than in the black market, there could even be a age limit on buying it.. now there is no age limit whatsoever...is that better?

The drugs could even be at better quality, then there would be a lot of reduction in the dangers about using them... usually not the drugs that are worst for you, but the additives.

This would result in lower deaths by drugs, less money channeled to criminal organizations, age limits.. gov can even get some taxes on it...

Now i don't do drugs myself, but we have to be realistic, we can never stop drugs... it have been tried in all of the world, and it have failed... The few places that actually have decriminalised/legalized some drugs are actually better off...

But anyway, don't feel sorry for this swedish... he knew what he was doing..making the worst drug in the worst country (about drugs).. what did he really expect?

  5. Are you a norwegian who is looking for a extra income?

We are a company that is currently looking for someone to work as freelance in sales.

We can offer 400 NOK (about 2000 Baht) pr sale, and you also have full freedom to work when you want, and as much as you want. In other words, you decide how much you want to make. 2-4 sales pr day is a average.

The sales will be directed against small/medium companies in any field.

    What you need:

    Computer connected to internet

    Headset

Experience in sales is a advantage, but not a demand.

For more information, contact us at: www.sperreregisteret.no or PM me here.

  6. It's not just the ladyboys that the marines need to watch out for. How about that scumbag that rents jetskis then rips off the renters?

When you go to Thailand expect the unexpected. Drink if you must, but stay away from the locals and behave in a proper manner in public.

The world would be such a better place without alcohol.

I hope this whole thing was a joke....right?

  7. You guys want some cheese with that.......?

everybody needs his cut right, and they forgot the luggage thieves...

ur last surprise when you come home... if you did not end up in one of the other thai scemes to get rid of your useless baht's outside thailand...

so for tourists who plan to come here :

    ripped on arrival

    ripped with taxi fares

prepare to pay double in hotels, restaurants, shops ...

watch out for security that might accuse you with dropping a sigarette bud even you do not smoke ...

carefull when shopping in duty free, might end up in jail

what out of buying stuff or doing business with thais as you might fly out of a window (famous in pattaya)

watch out not to get robbed, shot, stabbed

watch out for ladyboys, aids, veneral deseases

    etc...

Stop whining or stay in your Falang country! :)

    Stop%20Whining.jpg

Thank you, exactly my thoughts. I really can't see why this would be a negative thing, but it doesn't really matter. any news that comes out here have to be bad news?

I log in to read the news, and maybe some more info about this, but all i see is whining...go home then if everything is that bad....or if you can't stick to topic, go post in SA instead.

Like most of you guys i choose to come here, why try to change this place then? Remember, you are all guests...

  8. I think it will help if I say that now it is possible to extend ED visa with the Callan and Walen school for 10 years. 10 years is very long time but what after 10 years? We will see but in the meantime 10 years is long enough to make serious plans about Thailand without visa fears.

Walen School - quality education + 10 years ED visa

    www.thaiwalen.com

    nice.

And in 10 years, most of the rules is likely to change anyway :)

but as i don't live near those schools, i'm not sure that can be done to the school around here

    http://thailanguagecentre.org/

They say that it will be 3-5 years

But i will go hear, maybe there are some new rules or something, maybe they can do 10 years too

  9. Thanks, i already know about a school here in this city

But thanks about info in non-im O visa, now i know what to look for :) I always though the 40k/400k was the only option there.

if get marry with thai citizen:

we show in the bank 400k and thats all we have to do ? to get the marry visa.

OR 400k + 40k mohntly incoming as well??

no, it's 40k income a month OR 400k in bank, have to stay for at least 2 or 3 months

  10. No, i'm not married yet...but that won't be long.

So you say i can get a non-imm O visa without the 40k/400k ? but then i would have to leave every 90 days? So practically mostly the same routine as i have now with tourist visa? If so, that would have been great.

This is something that can be repeated? (as for the laws/rules that apply now at least)

ED visa for studying thai is fine, i want to learn some more about that anyway.

But if you know some more info about if it can be spread out more, i would be happy for that...or anyone else who have done the same

  11. Hi all.

I currently have a tourist visa, and for a while now i have though about that i have to do something about that... and with the latest news about penang, i'm afraid thet could spread to other places, as Vientiane as i usually go to.

So i have been thinking about educational visa, while learning thai, that seems like a good idea.

From what i understand this could be extended to 3 or 5 years..?

But do anyone have any suggestions for what i can do after this?

I'm not nearly old enough to get retirement visa, and i have some income, but not enough to do the married visa (40k month / 400k in bank).

What other options do i have?

Is it possible to go back to tourist visa for a while after the ED visa?

Is it possible to go back to EU and then come back to do the ED visa again?

Or do i have other options?

And please, keep to the topic... :)

    Thanks

  12. Does anyone know if people are facing the same problems at the Thai Embassy in Laos? I have just started using 2-3 month tourist visas again from the embassy in Laos and am going back in a week for my 2nd time. I have heard that the embassy in Laos will let people do it back to back and people have been doing that for years... anyone know if this is true?

I have heard it's no problem in Laos, but i would also like to hear if there are some problems there, as i will go for tourist visa there in a couple of months

  13. Some news from norway

    http://www.dagbladet.no/2009/05/06/nyheter...ailand/6087185/

Basicly, they are talking about that cyanid was found in the dead woman, the 2 norwegians previously shared a bucket-drink.

What i don't understand is, that the Police chief says that even if cyanid was found, he won't say that there were some criminal act... well, you don't accidentaly get cyanid in a drink. It isn't exactly something that can be found everywhere...

  14. i went about a month ago.

from nong khai to thanaleng, there was really hardly any passengers, so for the visa on arrival at thanaleng train station i waited about 3-4 minutes. after that i just had jo jump into a taxi into vientianne, was about 10-15 minutes driving.

    much better than before.

i guess there are some more vaiting as more people go that way, but time will show
