  1. 12DrinkMore if you`ve lived in Hua Hin and there are nicer places to live can you share these with me?

It is very rare for condos to appreciate significantly anywhere outside Bkk and I imagine part of the reason you are buying is to see some capital gain that I doubt will happen because Thai developers cant help themselves and oversupply , and body corps ( and sinking funds ) usually eventually get rorted somehow , and maintenance plans fall to pieces

The other problem is a lack of development controls meaning someone can start a garbage dump nearby and you as a foreigner can do virtually nothing to stop it

I would be advising you to avoid this market altogether

The Thais have the same problem, they cannot stop it either, unless they are at the very top of the hierarchy.

Easy to buy, difficult to sell, especially now the AUD, EUR, RUB, GBP and all the Scandie currencies have taken a big hit in the last year.

Rent first, take your time, don't get too excited about any one condo, and pop in some very very low balls. I moved out of Hua Hin years ago, couldn't take the traffic anymore. Weekends and holidays it is one humongous traffic jam.

There are much nicer places to live.

  2. Hi,

A member of my family works for a large supermarket chain in the Middle East and has asked if I would make some inquiries about buying rice in Thailand in bulk and exporting overseas as I live here.

Any experts out there who could advise on this process and the best ways to go about it? I did have a look at this website yesterday http://www.thairiceexporters.or.th/price_eng.html do you have to go through companies like this or can you approach mills directly for the best prices?

Any help and advice would be fantastic about the process and the logistics etc.

    Thanks.

  3. Hi,

I`m looking for some advice from those in the know of the property market in Hua Hin & Surrounding Areas for condos. I`m looking to buy something for myself and my family to use as a holiday home and possibly rent out for the rest of the time.

I`ve been there a few times but I`m not over familiar with the areas but our budget is between 3 - 3.5M Baht, ideally not something too far away from the beach, golf courses, shopping centers and restaurants we have our own car so don`t mind to be 15 or 20 mins away.

Ideally off plan and new but would also consider places that are a year or two old from trusted developers with a good track record. Any advice highly appreciated and links to developers projects etc.

    Thank you.

  4. There is a small book. Snakes and other reptiles of Thailand and South-East Asia. Authored by 5 people. Cost me about 400 Bt. I think Asia Books will have it.

Thanks for visiting Mosha, was hoping skywalker would drop past. Maybe soon.

I have a couple of snake books in Thailand, both at home on the shelf, unfortunately I'm not there.

I agree, a few hundred baht, easy.

Hi guys, sorry I am late. I oversleept and yes it was nice. I took a new look on the picture and due to quality (no offence) it´s hard to say what species it could be and as I am out of town I have to wait untill i get home to my books to see if i can find this one out.

If one don´t know for 100% what snake it is treat it as a poisonous snake.

    Thank you...

  5. Thanks neverdie for your help...

No problem, I'm sorry I don't,have access to my snake books ATM.

There are many more snakes in Thailand, not venomous and hopefully it's one of those.

The most dangerous thing we could do at the moment is, mis-identify it......that would be a problem.

I'm not sure what area (roughly) in Thailand you are in?

    Udon Thani

  6. Ray I'm also looking to do foam insulation in Udon let me know if you come across anyone who knows what there doing and I'll do the same. Perhaps we could get a better quote for both jobs?

  7. Agreed I think you need to read up on how the ATV works firs,t there is no installation on an Apple device its just a plug and play to your TV with a few tweaks.

Installation of Apple TV on a iMac......

Won't be easy: Soldering Iron, cabling, Duct Tape smile.png

Otherwise just plug the apple tv in and connect to wifi / lan. Leave itunes running on the iMac and select the imac name under computers. Done.

  8. No not VPN on ATV just by changing the DNS on ATV manually with the settings from the provider.

I got my Netflix working in the end through the same VPN as my wifi and its awesome brings a whole new aspect to the ATV send me a pm and I'll send you the info.

    VPN on apple tv?

  9. I only use the UK and US store as the apps are much better. If you want movies I just got the apple tv from a company here in Thailand online and then set up a work around to watch Netflix from US its absolutely amazing with the choice of movies and tv shows and cheap on the monthly subscription.

    No more Truevision :)
