  1. One thing you'll get on this site, 10 people will give 10 different recommendations. However, there is usually merit in every post. What you need to do is sift through them, and align the comments with your own needs. Chalong is fine, central for most things, but transport (motorcycle) is essential. Beach wise, Kata will fit the bill for most people, but best to go further afield sometimes. I recently had a great afternoon at Bang Tao (north west, past Kamala), with pristine sand, not crowded, and some good restaurants. Had not been there for about 2 years, but had a great day. The alternative is to use somewhere like Rawai, and get a longtail boat to a nearby island like Koh Bon, costs about 1000 baht for the whole day (the boat and driver will wait for you), secluded and quiet beaches, nothing else there but a restaurant (food good), but ideally you need to have company to enjoy both the views and the ambience. Many more places to go, but you need to get your feet on the ground, and really decide what kind of holiday you want. Forget the 'bar' scene location, as the amenities typically offered by Patong can be found late at night in any of the Phuket locations, albeit in a lesser density, if that's what you're looking for.

    Thanks.

For Chalong how much will transport cost to travel around the Phuket.

Not sure if I will rent a motorcycle, but if I have to I will, just not too familiar with the roads in Phuket.

    Cheers

  2. Best Place In Phuket

    is below:-

    large.jpg

The road going to Mainland Thailand.

You want the Beach, then pay the price.

Visit Thailand country-side, Kanachanburi for instead, two rivers, one beach (fresh water)and lots to do :o and not a rip-off-ski place like Beaches in Thailand

    Yours truly,

    Kan Win :D

    Thanks.

Wheres that? No idea where that is? lol

Rawai markets for locals not for tourist? So I should head to Patong? Patong is good markets I heard.

  3. I'm not a fan of self-mutilation, or otherwise scribbling on your body, but what is the deal with this bamboo tattooing?

This seems to me like wanting to buy a rotary telephone instead of a BlackBerry. Or is this the "Black and white TVs are cooler than color ones" sort of argument?

Seems to me that the end result is what matters, not the method. You don't need to post photos of "wonderful" bamboo-needle tattoos for me, either. There is no question that a skilled artist (I haven't seen anything out of Samui that holds a candle to the kinds of work done in Europe for example -- just look at the tattoo magazines) with a machine is more talented than when he is using a stick and an inkwell.

And I doubt that anyone here is going through some rites of manhood or Maori ritual.

So what's the deal with bamboo? Could not the broken-off car aerial used by the Thai monk in this pic not be just as "cool," or meaningful and just as imprecise?

    Bamboo, car aerial, whatever....

Bamboo tattoo, Sak-Yants uniqe to Thailand and Cambodia, in a way.

You should give it a go, who knows you might change your mind =)

So I guess you dont know of any good artist then? No skilled artist in Samui?

Where are the skilled artist then in Thailand, recommendations?

  4. Using Fairtex at the moment, they seems to be pretty good. What about Boonsport? Whats the best thai pads you have used? I think twins have pretty good pads, never tried King or Windy, But heard Windy is topss. How much in general will Thai pads and Belly guard cost at the Lumpinee shops on average?

Do those gyms do personal training?

  5. Hi,

Wheres the best place to buy genuine quality Muay Thai gear, such as Pads, gloves, shorts etc.

Shops just located outside Lumpinee has been recommended.

    Where else?

Also any good muay thai gyms, in bangkok, phuket, or samui that take people for casual training?

    cheers

  6. Hey guys,

Just wandering where is the best place and way to send packages back overseas. Say for example 20KGs clothes to New Zealand.

Whats the cheapest yet most safest way to ensure that the package reaches the destination, the package does not have to be reach its destinations within days. But should reach its destinations within a 2 or so weeks.

What courier company is most reliable and cheapest?

    Thanks
