  1. Compared to Thaksin, the guy's a saint.

Amnesty International special report on Thaksin's drug wars, 2003:

Prime Minister Thaksin appeared to condone such killings in various public statements made during the three-month campaign. For example on 25 March he was quoted as saying, 'There are two places for drugs traffickers: in prison or in the temple,' in reference to the Buddhist practice of cremating their dead in temples.

The police stated that by 15 April 2,245 people had been killed in the campaign.

Where do you think drug traffickers belong if not in prison or the temples, such as Wat Tham Krabok?

  2. The question remains "what will happen to Abhisit after his "government" is history?". He has been hand-groomed by the elites for almost two decades now, never really having a real job. Would it have been better for him to wait until the Democrats could have won an election, admittedly that may have been a long, long time. But he is young. Perhaps he is regretting being railroaded in?

  3. Two days ago it looked like Abhisit just might be able to take the control handed him by the PAD for a bit of time; now it looks like he'll be gone in a matter of months. He's squirming and unable to answer questions (lie) successfully and it's quite clear he's got no plan and a lot of patrons from warring sides to pay back.

  4. Looks like we hit the truth right on! The right wing ASTV-stained PAD cheerleaders always surrender with their "troll" cry!

    hi sunrise :o

Kasit for FM? Abhisit has no balls or ability to think on his own. Ironically, that might lead to more compromise and a muddled peace for Thailand.

I more or less agree with you, sunrise07. :D

Hold on, expect to be assaulted by PAD supporters!

  5. Sorry, but folks in the west do not usually spend time in jail for committing fraud, they get promoted!

until they get caught, when they get caught they go to jail.... there have been some really high profile cases in the last decade suprised you were not aware of them.

I respect your opinion, though my perspective differs. I am aware of a handful of prosecutions; however, in my most humble opinion, the financial services industry in the West is awash in fraud, greed and deceit.

  6. "First of all, however, Khun Thaksin has to accept the country's legal procdures," Abhisit said.

According to recent polls more than 90% of Thais have faith in courts.

Like it or not, but the courts act very much in sync with the rest of the country, whether it is run by kangaroos or elf wizards, and Thaksin has to accept that.

I'm pretty sure if he was caught in the west for insider trading, share concealment or tax evasion, he'd be locked away for a very very long time. Here he might still walk away a free man, after all.

You've just won the ThaiVisa award for the #1 NAIVE post of 2008! Congratulations!

Was that an ABAC poll or what? Was that 90% of the military?

Sure there aren't any crooks involved in financial services in the West?

  7. If Abhisit can have his boss make a deal with the military courts, I think Thaksin will return.

Who is the boss of Abhisit and you know that the courts have nothing to do with the military in Thailand?

Sorry, you'll have to look further than ASTV for the answer, my friend. Don't be afraid of the international press.

    Yet again ... 'unmentionable people'

siam4ever --- you know how lame it is to keep making these assertions with nothing to back it up, right?

Turn down the Fox News parody ASTV station screaching propaganda eternally and read an international journal with an open mind and you'll find it unnecessary to keep trying to justify an extreme right-wing power play.

  9. Some have prospered heavily since the military coup of 2006, the shredding of the 1997 constitution, the military appointed rewrite, the military inspired banning of political parties, and the installing of the military aligned present government after General C. led the PAD wing on a takeover of civilian airports. No amount of arguing will quell their enthusiasm. All they see is their personal gain shining, while the Thai people suffer.

  10. The right-wing extremists are already busy discounting the truthful article by Ehrlich. They just can't stand to hear the truth. They'll start quoting the Bangkok Post and Nation pretty quick in rebuttal.

The Nation and Bangkok Post are right wing extremist newspapers?!?

Not exactly, but they tow the army propaganda line pretty tight. That's why the PAD supporters always sound like Fox News boys and detest any news that comes uncensored from outside of Thailand.

  11. She should feel free to come down to Hua Hin and take aerial photos from my Zenair CH701 that I fly from a grass strip near Chaam. I fly often above the rice fields, the beach and back in the mountains of Kaeng Krachan Natl Park. PM me for details if she is interested. And don't worry, I'm happily married with a couple of kids.
