I had the same problem, but opposite to yours. I had to help my wife to stop smoking! It was quite difficult but we succeeded, together. It's all about love. We planned to have a baby and I explained her that it's stupid for her to continue smoking as long as she wants that child.
You can use the same method if you like, maybe you can achieve good results also.
