  1. It is very true what you are saying, pmgthailand and truely a disappointment.

I have lived here in Phuket now for 5 years & have noticed this rubbish / dirtiness situation getting worse as the years go by. There seem to be a number of open plots just dedicated to throwing rubbish into without any proper disposal units. The amount of people I drive past throwing rubbish out of their car windows is also atrocious.

The problem will never be fixed if people just don't care, which seems to be the case.

What a shame for such a naturally beautiful and now yes, overpopulated island.

  2. Give Capannina a try in Kata, I was there last night and it is always delicious. My favourite Italian, without a doubt. If you're not too full from your starters & main course there, you must! try the 'Tortina Cioccolato' dessert, it is amazing!!!

Let us know what you do end up trying & your thoughts.

    Happy eating!

  3. I recently tried 'La Chaumiere' in Rawai... delicious! I can't believe I have never been there before having lived in the area for sometime now but shall make it a regular from now on.

The quiche starter, in particular, was fantastic with the quiche pastry being crispy & the filling smooth & rich.

My boyfriend tried the duck breast and I had the poulet chasseure dish. Both sauces were amazing using lots of fresh herbs. We both had mashed potato, huge! portion... next time I'll just share his portion of mash!

I've heard that they do a couscous night as well. Can anybody give their opinion on this and what night is that held on?

  4. Hi Alphason,

Hmmm, I really think those are your 3 x choices: Suzuki Caribbean, Isuzu DMax or Nissan NV.

But maybe somebody has another rental solution?

Good luck, moving is always a bit of a pain, I recently did so, a few car loads at a time.

  5. There are no quality guitars shops here selling the likes of Fender, Gibson, PRS, etc. but keep an eye in the local classifieds for private sales, I've seen a few good ones at times.

If you're after a cheaper guitar, I've noticed a shop along Chaofa Road East, coming from Phuket Town on the right hand side, more or less just as you've left Phuket Town.

  6. I've tried Ellis Pizza & Pasta a few times now for both takeaway & eat in and can give my opinion on the food alone: that I really enjoyed the pizza & the pasta bolognaise (duck), however... the buttery sauces I tried with pasta & gnocchi... not so good because they tasted like margarine was used instead of butter, which gave the flavour of the sauces a strange taste.

Has anybody else found the same with regard to the buttery sauces?

  7. I have to say, their lamb sandwich which appeared occasionally as a special, was amazing. Will miss them! I'm sure the new one will be good though too, look forward to its opening, drive past everyday, so keeping a good eye out! :-)

  8. Please, this is a general warning, posted on this forum as public information.

We've now established, I believe, to those who were uncertain that this incident did, in fact, take place.

Of course, we all understand that crimes occur wherever one chooses to reside, that is not the point, nor is it to create bad press for Phuket. It is simply advice that such incidents have occurred in this area & to be aware.

  9. This is an important matter which should not be taken lightly.

I know the lady who was attacked first hand & can guarantee that this incident absolutely took place. I am not about to reveal names.

For those who wish to believe this is some sort of 'troll' message, I would recommend you choose to comment in such a way on a post of a nature which is not serious.

For those who would like to listen, please, be careful. What more can I say and why on earth would anybody make something like this up, this is NOT a joking matter.

  10. I would like to advise for the safety of all females that an attack took place earlier this week on a Falang lady jogging in the Promthep Cape area. This attack happened in broad daylight at approximately 8:30AM.

Her attacker held her at knifepoint and beat her, making threats throughout the ordeal, however, she was extremely lucky to escape.

I understand that a similar attack occurred prior to the one above, where the attacker broke into another lady's home. Whether or not this is the same person, is yet to be established.

Please be very careful, take extra care & precaution & do not venture alone.
