2. Anybody who could answer this Dear members ? in my case, especially no.3 Hotel booking ?

From the OP it reads as if all extensions need this proof now. I am on a triple TV myself and stay with friends and therefore no booking for the full period of my 3rd entry to come.

so far I was under the impression "Previously getting a 30 Extension on a Tourist Visa I had a Passport, photo and 1900 baht." is enough.

You worry too much. If you will have any problem in obtaining an extension, come back here and call me an idiot.

thanks. I honestly hope that I do not need to report back and call you names.

  3. Hi.

I just want to confirm regarding the new rules posted in this thread.

I am currently on my 2nd entry of my Tourist Visa.

I would like to get a 30 day extension then fly outside Thailand for 6 weeks.

    Question:

When I apply for a 30 day extension at Jomtien on September 2nd , do I need to bring:

1A onward flight ticket or eTicket out of Thailand within the 30 days

    2. Minimum 10,000 Baht

    3. Hotel booking confirmation

    4. One photo, passport sized

    5. Application fee, 1,900 Baht

Previously getting a 30 Extension on a Tourist Visa I had a Passport, photo and 1900 baht.

    Thanks.

    TC.

  4. Sorry, but I'm new to this forum. If I missed it can anyone tell me how long does one have to stay outside before being allowed back in with a new 60 day tourist visa - How long not to be classed an in out??. I am one of those guys who has been living here for over 10 years. I am basically retired, but still only 47. I have land here, a company whereby the tax has been paid every year since 2005 and I am the chairman. I also have a car registered in my own name since 2005. But my biggest worry is that when I leave after the extension of my third entry from my tourist visa is up (triple entry aquired in the UK) which will be 27th Sept, I will not be allowed back to be with my girlfriend of 10 years who will be having our first child.. That's my biggest worry.

And please don't say "if you've land and a live company, why didn't you get a business visa?" I am not doing business in any form, therefore resent going down the business visa / paying tax road..

    Any positive feedback appreciated..

the feeling around here today seems to be 180 days in a 12 month period with tourist visas is the best you can hope for. no one knows yet

may I ask, where do you get this information from ? Is there an official statement from Immigration or is this just unconfirmed rumor or hearsay ?

    thanks

  5. and what about double visas ? what about extensions ? are they still valid ?

Because 90 days in and 90 days out , it would contrast with a double visa. My plan in double visa, 2 months in Thailand (or 3 with one extension), an holiday in Australia (7-10 days), 2 more months in Thailand with the second entry.

This would sum more than 90 days in total, but it has always be possible until now.

I just want to know if it will be possible after 12 August.

I agree it would be very interesting to know how the authorities gonna handle double and even more the triple entry tourist visa.

and also how any 30 day extension on top of the 60 days per entry allowance will be seen.

its easy to exceed 90 days in 6 months with triple entry visa and 30 day extensions in between

I am currently on a triple entry visa myself (issued in my home country) and on my second entry. No back to back tourist visa history and empty passport.

Came back from a short Malaysia stay last week by air without any issues. I plan to extend this entry at Cheng Wattana by another 30 days.

Then travel on to Japan for 10~14 days and visit Thailand again afterwards for another 60 days + 30 day extension until January.

(first entry was for 40days, my current second entry planned for 60 + 30 days ext, and third entry 60 + 30 days ext)

Should I expect any trouble and also because I will go over 90 days in 6 months ?

Although I have a legit triple entry tourist visa (180 days valid) issued in my home country?

I am worried that my longterm SEA travel plans are now getting torpedoed by this sort of chaotic visa clamp down

It seems for now nobody knows anything and even authorities statements are rather vague.

thanks in advance for any helpful advise

    cheers

    Hi all,

I will be moving over to bangkok from Australia in a couple of months starting off on a ED visa for 1 year (is approved) and am marrying in april. My fiancee and i will be starting our family very soon and i do plan on staying for a good number of years raising a family.
What im in the process of doing now is sorting out all my assets (selling cars, bikes, buying investments etc) but what im unsure of is if i have to pay tax in Thailand on a pension that comes from o/seas? If so what is the tax rate ???
For the first year do i have to worry about tax if on student visa? I do know after my student visa expires and i am on a marriage visa i have to have 40,000bht a month coming in is it possible to have a bank like
HSBC for that money or does it have to be siam or bangkok etc?

Any help will be much appreciated!
If you are not a Thai Resident , you do not have to declare any overseas income, for Banking ,just use any offshore bank with a ATM card for you money needs, HSBC , Hangseng bank etc,

just wondering what is correct in this specific threat starters case : dont you become a thai resident by staying in thailand more than 180 days ?

is this nothing to worry since nobody will bother 1 year non-immi ED visa holders about income tax anyway, not even the thai immigration when filing the 90 day residency report and exceeding the 180 days total stay after two times reporting ?

btw, are there visa runs necessary for one year non immi ED visas. every 90 days ? Or is reporting to local immigration (closest to where one lives) (without going to the border) all that needs to be done ?

    TIA

ps: what is meant by offshore bank. just any outside of thailand ? And would it make any difference if there are transcations from abroad account to thai account, and later withdrawl from there, instead ATM cash withdrawl from offshore account?

  7. You cannot get a work permit unless the company sets up a represneitive or branch office here.

Whether you need a work permit or not sort of falls into a grey area so you are not going to get a definitive answer.

While you are going to school no and maybe reasearch. Making customer contacts maybe yes.

    Hello ubonjoe

Thanks for your advise. Yes I see its a bit tricky.

Basically it would be enough for the beginning to apply for Study/Research Visa.

Since I wont work without speaking the language.

Later I could change it to non-imm.B in case the company wants to me to start working

and the company must fullfill the requirements for the work permit application. (representation/branch office)

    Did I understnd correctly?

BTW, Where can I find more information about setting up a branch office/representative office.

Is it necessary to hire Thai people only to meet the 7(3?) shareholders Thai people law. And the 1 Farang for 4 Thai

employees law ? IT would be very costly to do so just to do a market analysis.

Or are their any special regulations for a pure representive office (for foreign company)

in order to conduct market research.

    Thanks for your valuable advise

    regards

    Micha

  8. In case I hold the non-imm B multiple entry visa type for one year. Do I need to make 90 days visa runs?

Do they ask for a work permit (because I have business visa) when I make the re-entry from a visa runs?

With a Multi Entry Non Imm Visa you would have to cross a border and return every 90 days.

They will not look at work permit.

Hi!, thanks for the quick reply. That sounds good already.

I hope somebody can share their experiences, especially concerning the

constelation (German employer, no office in Thailand, business (market research) being conducted in Thailand ---> WP a must ?

    Cheers

    Micha

  9. Hello eveyrbody !

this is my first post here - Hi folks out there !

This forum is nice and very informative. StillI could not find my specific case answered yet.

I hope somebody has knowledge about the following case.

Company (located in Germany) plans to send me for afaik at the moment 9-12 months.

learning Thai then doing market research, and at the

end making contacts to new potential customers/suppliers in Thailand.

German consulate tells me one year business multiple entry Business visa is possible.

But they could not confirm wether I do need a work permit for Thailand or not, since in my case

the employer is a foreign company with no branch office in Thailand. Salary is paid within Germany

to my German account. I keep a German residency adress.

Has anybody experience with this ?

    Thanks for advise :o

    Micha

    PS.:

In case I hold the non-imm B multiple entry visa type for one year. Do I need to make 90 days visa runs?

Do they ask for a work permit (because I have business visa) when I make the re-entry from a visa runs?
