Just curious what are you calling a Moo Baan (gated community) or village? If gated community maybe, if village it will take money.
gated community in Bangkok (big one with 1200 houses)

I wonder,
Does anyone know if it is possible (the moo baan said no) at all to change the status of a part of the Moo Baan from general property to
my own.
I live in a "death" end street and it would be nice if I can expand my graden a little bit
The Moo baan has some financial problems and I just want to know If a status of a peace of land can be divided and changed
(some hotshots I think can do it but can I)

Excuse me if i'm wrong but there have been bomb attacks in the south pretty much every other day or so for the past 5 years. Unless I'm mistaken, Surat Thani isn't really a Red area either. Is there any actual evidence linking the Red Shirt protests to the bombings?
Yes you are wrong Surat Thani is more than 500 km away from that (moslim) area
Why you install bombs on your gathering area .... no it was not the red shirts

Yes I do. A very impressive structure.
Yes compare it to other airports in the world
like hong kong .. Ugly
London Heathow sometimes you have to sit for more then one hour in a bus to go from one terminal to terminal 4
only some minus points:
Going to and from long time parking is idiot
The shops --> mafia
The way they did handle the hire cars
and some point are to far apart to walk
and when will that train be ready ??

Your username well thats a new one
Mine told me it was my lan connected to the router (even he stayed on that after when I showed him down down down pictures without the Lan connected)
Also he told me I put the wireless thing at a wrong place because if I close my wooden door then the signal will be bad
hehe next time it will be the ghosts
maybe we can fix your problem with some Voodoo
I have the same problem its simply there infra structure
The people who are coming do not have a clue mine did not even looked at the diagnostics for the signal strength and signal noise thing
I have now bad in internet after install for 3 weeks , I have another one in my wife's shop in Pridi and that is good.
I know enough about the lan wan etc ... he I studied that
So I will asked them again again to come by and then contact my laywer. Really I will not win but they will not simply get away with it in my case.
I will not give up simply add another provider and send the bills to them together with the damage they creating

The line from True
well is it the telephone line provider can be different then the ADSL provider
so the line is from true and i can get internet from others
-
just a simple technical question
Can I use two internet service providers at the same time on one telephone line
I have now True for three weeks.
and oh boy it drops down let say between 5 and 10 times an hour.
I can not convince (so far ) that true people it is there infra-structure.
And get some people around, trained for one thing but with a general knowledge that is poor poor
So can I have a second one added to it
So I can prove that it is
I don't want something fast and shiny (like a jaguar car)
but something stable and that works most of the time (like a Toyota car)
I dont need to often download big things so
so can I get a Tot 1 2 3 or mbps whatever speed also with the same line at the same time ?

You can also use the open-dns server 208.67.222.222 as second lookup dns server
so if you have a asdl router then just make a fixed ip address
in your tcp-ip properties:
like :
ip-address: 192.168.1.178
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.1.1
preferred DNS server: 192.168.1.1
alternetive DNS server: 208.67.222.222
or
if your router wants a 192.168.0.xxx
ip-address: 192.168.0.178
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.0.1
preferred DNS server: 192.168.0.1
alternetive DNS server: 208.67.222.222

The SkyTrain operation has been a joke since last year when they opened the two stations beyond Saphan Taksin. Overcrowded trains and station platforms are now commonplace. When they switch to Thai driver manual mode from computer assisted mode just after Chong Nonsi it makes the ride feel like your at Disneyland. People falling into each other as the car slows and speeds up under the expert control of some Thai student worker. The system lacks safety equipment to allow the computer to drive at this point and we are at the mercy of whoever they let drive. Then the kicker! One train track in and out of Saphan Taksin. Pure genius! Less trains mean more people during peak hours on the platforms. No one cares and like most other Thai operations they'll take the hit for medical and burial fees rather than pay to operate the system safely. We are one our own here.
Be careful out there.
the original plan was to have 6 wagons not 4.
The amount of trains are enough only there was not enough money to buy it all
you can see that all the stations are designed for 6 wagons. only 4 are used

speedtest provides me with the correct bandwidth when I test my ADSL speed
I just look into my ADSL modem thats the real speed I get at the end of the line
I get 20 times to much from the download test so there is somewhere a proxy in my case

lol funny to think that people would pay up to 4000 baht to see a Vegas hotel lobby bar singer and also you can get him to perform for free at CM² disco from time to time
The best Tom Jones imitator I ever have seen and heard was in the Knom Penn Hotel Cambodia
A big Philiphino singing Tom Jones better than Tom Jones

Have you spoken with Jon at Jsat ??I lost most of my favorite channels while using Jsat services and they asked me the same annual renewal fees for only a few channels left without any guarantee. I told them that it wasn't fair and that I was nervous to spend money not knowing what I would get or not, and someone at Jsat just basically told me that they didn't want my business.
So I went to TRUE Visions, considered as having the worst customer support, and they are definitely better than Jsat so far...
Just my own experience...
Seems the satellite channels (the TV stations) are run by the channel provider and not jsat it hard for any satellite company anywhere in the world, other than a cable tv provider to guarantee anything on satellite (and we all saw what happened to BBC Entertainment), as what is here today may well be gone in the morning such is the dynamics of satellite TV and radio.

I needed a real Satelite installer in Bangkok that can handle my standards
as a fall back thing in case I started to a big fight with a well known one.
(not cheap but boy how wrong was I to expect some civilization)
So English language

Beer Lao tastes fantastic in Lao, but horrible in Thailand. I guess it's the preservatives they use, does anybody think the same as this?
Sorry, slightly off topic...
I think that beer made under license in Thailand is horrible. (Heineken is a good example) with the exception of Asahi. Beer Lao in Thailand comes right over the border with tax stamp. Personally, I cannot tell the difference.
I recall different taste of Heineken in Austria than in Thailand. Is that just me or is it really different??
I actually like Heineken. The Heineken in the States is brewed and bottled (or canned) in Holland. I think that when it is made under license the quality control may be lacking and it is my understanding that different water used will produce a different taste. Sorry for being off topic.
Yes beer is like Whiskey very depending in the water. Most export Beer from Heineken is brewed in Den Bosch.
In Australia they sell locale and imported the local is made at Tooheys (Sidney)
Normally Heineken has very good rules for brewing under licence.
But in Australia there is simply no good beer at all

What a strange thread!
Someone starts it off by saying 'I've bought a house' then other people jump on him 'oh no you haven't' ...'oh yes i have!' then others arrive, defending him and attacking the attackers.....seeing as it's pantomime season i wonder if there'll be a happy ending and a song?
now where's that pesky villain?......'BEHIND YOU!'
Yes ..... this thread has run off the rails !!
Anyway .... what's the OP's question ?
I'm not a big fan of Samui , but if he provides me the air ticket and accomodation I will come down ....
just let us know when and where the house warming is ....
cheers !
You dont need to warm up a house in Thailand the weather is warm enough

I sure you and your family will enjoy your time in thailand.
I have a toddler. Strangers are always picking her up and playing with her, which she thoroughly enjoys. Thais love kids, and are genuinely friendly.
My daughter too will talk to anyone, and of course i keep a close eye on her.
Unfortunately, the awareness of safety in this country is very poor. Though most Thai's don't see a problem.
I don't want to put you off your trip, but you should be more vigilant concerning safety than you would be at home. Don't assume that anything is safe. Examples.. My friend's toddler electrocuted from touching a bare electrical wire at a restaurant. A toddler killed by falling into an unsupervised pot of boiling rice porridge at a kindergarten. The list is tragically endless.
yes if a thai is walking with a child by her side then 70% of the time its on the wrong side where the heavy traffic is
they really have a very very poor sence about thinking about safety for others or themself...

Yes, if you didn't overwrite or use a special deletion program there are several free programs on the internet that can recover your data form a USB stick.
also from memory cards like sd cards etc.
it only gets overwritten when you put something new on it.
If you really want to delete something there are also some programs to do that

Hi,
We set up a company around 2 years ago and used a private lawyer to handle the registration. The cost for the lawyer was around 15K and the registration fee was around 10K if I remember correctly.
Every registered company needs to submit and audited financial statement at the end of each year. If you have a high number of transactions, you may need an accountant or book-keeper to do monthly records for you. Our monthly accounting fee is around 8,000 and the accountant does the end of the year statement for free. But we are now a fairly large company, so for a small company with low-turn-over you may not require an accountant to do this every month, in which case you are looking at around 10-15K to prepare the end of the year financial statement. Then you need to have it audited by a registered auditor which will cost you 10-20K, depending on the size of the business and how well you have kept your records. If you have an annual turnover of more than 180K you will need to register for VAT payments (the amount may be different now) but VAT reports will definitely require someone with accounting background and dont forget that you are required to pay social security for employees.
The above would cover a Thai company with no work permits.
If your company intends to employ a foreigner, maybe yourself, then it is a bit more complicated.
First, the company needs to have registered capital of at least 2 million Baht; there will need to be at least 4 Thai's employed and you will need to justify the employment of the foreigner based on their skills and the requirements of the job. For a new or small company they are very picky about approvals and will probably initially grant a 3 month work permit which you will then have to go and renew again with all the supporting documents and photos etc until they are happy with your set-up. There is also a scale of minimum salary for your foreign employee, depending on where they are from - if you want more info on the actual work permit process, do a search of this forum for more details.
Best of luck
The 2 million is for a co ltd.
If you are married with a Thai and the company is co-owned by her or him then the amount of employes can be less.
There are also other contructions.
If you are already in Thailand you can go to the Chamber of commerce they have a good brochure about this things in English.

I don't evaluate it. I am a guest in this Country, why would I want to insult any Thai with my opinions about how their country 'should" be run. I came here to get away from American politics. Farangs arguing Thai politics is just plain silly, and except maybe a close friend, the Thais certainly do not want to hear our opinions and more than we would want to hear them tell us how Britain and America "should" be run.
This is very great opinion. Anyway, thank you for concerning about that.
I'm Thai ... in my opinion, I think that this topic is extremely interesting because
we always wanna know how people from different country feel about
our politics and government performance.
This topic even more useful for students like me. We can use you guys' ideas
to apply with our previous knowledge... Even better, people from
tourism industry can use your opinions for their business and get to know
their customers' insight better. ^^
Thailand is always Land of Smiles for you ^________^
Thank you and Happy New Year
I 'm also an outsider but the main reason is that thai man are like woman
a man forget something after a fight its shake hands and take your wins and or looses
also for the Thai students ...
the higher the studie normally you have rich parents and
like that its not easy to think about real work !!!!!!!!!!!
a lot of thai thinks that after a studie it means sitting behind a big desk doing ... ????
