  1. KhunBENQ,

Thanks for your quick response to my query on my quandary. Yes, it is the date Dec. 24th is on the small printout (the A4?) "Receipt of Notification" (Internet), I stapled into my passport. My Immi office is here in Chiang Mai and if it is an easy job, I will try for the afternoon after 1pm so I can get shuttle out there. I will try to get this done before the holidays start rolling as you said, not probably good to try it on the 30th.

Last question is when does Immi stop accepting online 90 day reports? Up to the nominal date of expiration?

    Thanks a lot!

  2. Hello everyone,

I have been checking the site periodically and like everyone else have found it still off line. So I will continue to check today and hope that is back up but my deadline is Dec. 24th. Plan B is to suck it up and go to Immi tomorrow, It will be my first 90 day done in person. My question(s) is whether I need to get there at the crack of dawn or will they take 90 day reports in the afternoon after lunch? And do I need my last 90 day online approval printout in its entirety or will the piece of paper with my next expiration date in my passport work as well?

    Thanks all!

  3. Hello everyone,

I have been successful using the 90 day online report system in the past and was attempting to do my next report online also. I went to the Immigration Bureau page and scrolled to the bottom where you can click and access the online report system. It wasn't up yesterday and I tried again this morning. Could it be system maintenance or a new policy is being implemented? I am using the same browser and computer as I did with previous reports.

    Thanks!

  4. Hello fellow members,

My primary physician at Sriphat Hospital was an American MD named Dr. Gregory Greer. I referred a friend to him recently and she reported he was no longer there. If this is so, can anyone recommend another English-speaking doctor at Sriphat Hospital? Or another hospital or clinic that has checkup programs similar in price and quality as Sriphat.

    Thanks!

  5. Hello everyone,

I just finished a job in Sri Lanka and my employer will transfer to me my wages to my Bangkok Bank Thai baht account in USD. I would like to know how much it will cost me to transfer the sum. I assume the bank will convert it to THB and I would then withdraw the baht and convert it back to dollars. I would prefer to do this through PayPal as my U.S. account is linked to it but my employer is not able to do so. I think the transfer fee for PayPay is 2 percent of the sum.

Having to do a double conversion sounds like it will be a hassle but it sounds necessary as I do not have a USD account with B.B.

My question is how much will I lose in the conversion from USD to Baht on the initial transfer and then the conversion from baht to USD if I use the bank's rate or another currency exchange. The sum is 2300 USD.

    Thanks!

  6. Hello out there,

I have been in the States after leaving Thailand in April 2014 on a multi-entry ed visa. My expiration for my last re-entry is October 23 2014 so I am flying back in before that date to activate my last 90 days. I am looking to buy a one-way ticket on Korean Air but I am not sure I will be required to have a return ticket by Thai immigration. My trusted source in Chiang Mai has told me he has not seen that requirement for anyone returning on my type of visa. I am hoping not to have to buy one back as I am trying to get my retirement visa started there.

Thanks to you guys out there for your knowledge of the ins and outs of the Immigration tangle.

  7. Hello out there,

I have some last minute questions about the ol visa application for the Vientiane run I am making on Friday. I don't have a flight out of Thailand because I flew in one way with an outbound ticket to Lao. I don't plan on spending more than a few days in Vientiane before heading back to Chiang Mai so I don't a have a set date or exit ticket to leave Lao. So should I make up a date to put in the line on the application "Date of Arrival in Thailand?"

One more question, I came in on the 5th of October on a visa on arrival and I cross the border on the 2nd of November, one day before it expires on the 3rd so do I put the entry date or last day on the visa for "Date of Previous Visit?"

Maybe I am thinking too hard on this one but I want to fill in all the blanks if I can.

    Thanks,

    Chinofarang

  8. Hey out there!

I am headed to Vientiane for a visa run using the Nok Air Udon Thani flight then land connection service now being offered. I have U.S. passport and have done the Vientiane 2 entry tourist visa run before but I am arriving on a Friday around 1030 am which maybe too late to hit the Embassy until Monday. With 2 days to kill, I am thinking of heading down to Savannakhet and try for a 3 entry tourist visa there as I heard it was possible. 3 entries would make for some more flexibility in my stay here in Thailand but I was wondering if they are issuing them with a 3 month or 6 month enter before stamp? It sounds crazy to offer 3 entries and have to use them in 3 months, but I wouldn't be surprised when it comes to visa stuff.

    So with a triple entry I can do 60 + 30 (1,900 baht fro extension), 60 + 30 (another 1900 baht) and another 60 + 30 ( sigh! 1,900 baht) = 3000 for 3 entries + 5700 =8700 baht vs. 2 double entries in Vientiane 2000 baht + 3800 extension baht = 5800 baht total.

Perhaps, it's not worth all the travel expense etc etc to do this the Thais don't offer 6 months to use all three! So does anybody know if they do?

    Thanks,

    Chinofarang

  9. Thanks for the great imput, tywais and asanee. I will try to see if I can get whoever I am riding with to stop at Don Muang. I hope I just don't get lost finding the domestic terminal from the road going in. If not, the Rangsit stop is plan B. A much better option than going into Morchit. There is a NCA bus arriving around 0430 am but that maybe cutting it close to my 0600 am flight. Who needs a tv anyway, right? Lol!

Much obliged and keep all this good stuff coming!

  10. Hello out there,

I have a 0600 am flight out of Don Muang Airport on Nok Air on the 2nd of November. I am looking for an late afternoon bus leaving on the 1st that arrives around 0330 am on the morning of my flight. Is there a NCA (Nakornchai Air) vip bus leaving from Arcade that will get me there on time for my flight. The website is a bit confusing so any help will be appreciated. If no, can anyone recommend another bus company? Any info on price and how to get from where the bus arrives (Morchit?) and how to get to Don Muang would be helpful also.

    Thanks,

    Chinofarang

  11. thanks for the quick reply, mario.

as i said in my post, i leave on the 5th of oct. to chiang mai from spain with an outbound ticket on nok air to vientiane on the 2nd of november (29 days according to the thaivisa calculator!) so no worries about the onward ticket ( i hope!). so it's absolutely sure that you can't get a multiple entry non imm ed visa in savannaket? one entry only...

so perhaps i am better off just getting a multiple entry tourist visa in vientiane? is it possible after your 1 entry on your ed visa runs out to visa run again for a 2 entry tourist visa?

  12. hello everyone,

i am headed to thailand on an one way ticket oct 4th from barcelona. i have the paperwork from a school in chiang mai but need to submit my application to the thai embassy in madrid as there is no consul in barca. after paying for a nok flexi ticket to vientiane (nov 2) for the required outbound ticket (for the application), i am faced with sending the application with the fee (55 euro) to the embassy with the chance it maybe rejected. since i am a non-resident (american) the folks at the thai embassy said they are not required to approve my application so i am taking a chance sending it there and being denied (and out the 55 euros + 45 euros for postage).

my question is whether i should just fly into bkk with my one way and hit savannaket before my 30 day visa on arrival expires and apply there for my ed visa.

does anyone know if the consul there will give me an ed visa there with multiple entries. and is there any other requirements besides the standard one like an outbound ticket etc etc?

this forum is great and thanks to all out there for the help!

  13. man, i guess its a crapshoot, eh fellas? thanks for the all the replies and i will give the 10 buck option a shot but will be ready to shell out 500 baht if necessary, i guess. but sk1max sounds pretty sure so i will be ready for it when it comes. i get in on the greenbus at 1215 approx. and am on the 230pmer outta the bus station back to changers. i should have about a half hour or so after stepping over line in tachelik for some shopping or should i just cross back?

    thanks again everyone!

  14. hello out there!

i posted this on the visa forum earlier and have had a lot of looks but no bites. headed on the green bus tomorrow for the tourist entry visa run and heard through the grapevine that they are not accepting 10 u.s. dollar notes and only 500 thai baht now. has anyone had a recent experience at mae sai with this? just want to know if i am wasting time going to the exchange for dollars. i thought i would ask any of you locals here in changers if you knew anything about this.

thanks for being available, this forum is the best!

  15. hello everyone,

i am making the normal tourist visa entry run on wednesday the 8th of feb. and have heard that the burmese are not accepting 10 u.s. dollars now.

has anyone out there done the crossing at mae sai recently and have found out that they are only accepting 500 baht now? just would like to know

so i don't waste a trip to the exchange to change bills.

one more thing... i am getting in on the green bus from chiang mai at 12:15 to mae sai bus station and leaving on the 2:30 pm er back. will i be cutting it close

if i cross over and hit the market for a half hour?

thanks again to everyone out there. this forum is a great source for current info.

  16. hey everyone,

been in thailand since nov. with a multiple entry (2) tourist visa (u.s.a.) and renewed with an extension for 30 days after using my second.

can i make a mae sai run to get another 15 days when my 30 runs out? and does that fifteen days starts on the day of reentry or can i go a

day or two earlier and get the renewal starting the day when the old extension runs out? one more.... when does the free tourist visa offer end?

    thanks!
