  1. So I sent an email to the Ho Chi Minh Thai embassy & they are still offering the the non O based on marriage with multiple entities. All the usual paperwork, including my bank account. They didn't give an amount but I assume it's 400k. It'll be a better option for me than Savanakhet. Easier flight options plus I can do some touristy things. Savanakhet is so boring I was dreading the thoughts of going there.

  2. Nationality: Irish

Embassy: Checked through the web portal with Thai UK visa portal.

    Age: Below retirement age.

For the last number of years, I've been using the web portal to apply for a multi entry non-O based on marriage. I logged on today to apply for my new visa & they are only offering a single-entry visa.

I work rotationally, with one month on one month off so this visa was perfect for me but alas I need to think of something else.

Is Savannakhet still an option for the multi entry non-O? It's quite boring in Savannakhet & I wouldn't mind going somewhere else. Are there any other friendly embassies in nearby countries that offer same?

I will be back in Thailand next month so I can get a single entry through the portal then bounce to whatever friendly embassy I need.

Would I have enough time in Thailand to apply & receive the yearly extension based on marriage in 28 days?

They are all closed. The only way to apply for a visa now in the UK is online. The visa, if approved, is sent to your email address as a PDF file. There is no need to send off your passport any longer.

Correct. I used the service last December. Irish national & I applied for a non O based on marriage.

Very easy to use Web portal & a quick & efficient turn around.

The problem is that people also dying from poverty, depression and even starvation when they cannot go to work.  this is what mexico figured out in the begining of the pandemic, hence never closed corders and never imposed any lockdown. the result is indeed some deaths, but the economy was saved, and economy equals life.

the key point here is vaccines. if the doctor has respect for the vaccines, he must also respect the vaccines from other countries. what he is saying actually is that vaccined tourists cannot enter, because thailand is not vaccinated yet. but if the vaccines work, than no need to worry from vaccinated tourists, and if the vaccines do not work, than why to vaccine thailand at all?

Separate data published in March suggested Mexico’s actual death toll was at least 60% above the confirmed figure.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/the_americas/coronavirus-mexico-lockdown-lopez-obrador/2021/01/25/8d6311aa-50fc-11eb-a1f5-fdaf28cfca90_story.html

As Mexican officials watched the virus’s global march, they decided in February not to adopt such coercive tactics. Nearly 60 percent of workers — street vendors, gardeners, construction workers — lived off their daily earnings. Dispatching police to keep them home would “exacerbate social unrest, and this unrest could limit our ability to control the epidemic,” said López-Gatell, a Hopkins-trained epidemiologist. López Obrador voiced another concern: Poor workers squeezed by police could “swell the ranks” of crime cartels, López-Gatell recalled in a recent interview.

To limit the spread of the virus, authorities decided to target institutions — closing public schools, threatening penalties for businesses that stayed open, convincing churches to cancel Mass and cities to close parks.

So there was partial lockdowns similar to the third wave in Thailand. Mexico reported 250k deaths with the possibility of 60% unreported.

500k families with a loved one deceased but durr economy ????

  5. The sad thing is that if you speak to a Thai about this, they honestly believe that they ARE religious, and that all the 'perversions' of Buddhism that we read about in Thailand, is actually the norm and part and parcel of being a true Buddhist.

For me, that is the really sad part

I find that building a hotel and giving it away for nothing can really make you feel better inside.

  6. Call them "ai heea khee gohng" in front of their regular customers. That'll teach them good and proper. They will be forced to relocate their cart which could be a major pain for them if they have found a good spot.

Please learn the meaning of "ai heea" before you use it.

Can get you into real big trouble.

    without a doubt..

Ya, you say that to a street vendor anywhere in Thailand. You better get ready for a fight. And not a normal punch up either. Real sh!tty thing to type even in jest.
