Well there is a feeling of being more free in Thailand because it is not so strict as other "western" countries. Many laws here are more of guidelines than inforced , like trafic laws. Trafic repression with sky high fines back home , come to mind. This does give a feeling of being more free . Of course , I don't know how it is in other Asean countries.
