  1. Hello,

I posted this elsewhere on the forum but was suggested that it may have been better placed over here.

Im looking to find out if foreigners who are here on a tourist visa are able to obtain a booster shot anywhere in Pattaya, if they have family here.

    Thanks in advance all.

  2. Hello,

can anyone tell me please if booster jabs  are available in Pattaya for those in a tourist visa - would

normally be on an O but trip was a bit ruched this time so had to settle for tourist. I see there’s vaccination at chaiyapruk sports center but not sure if they’d allow a foreigner, especially not one in a tourist visa to receive a booster. Tried reaching out to the hospitals too but general

consensus is not available for now. Any advice appreciated. Not looking for a freebie either - happy to pay.

  3. For me a few questions (should be more)  stand out.

Where is the list of hotels that can be used for the 1 night non-quarantine, and when will the pass go online.

The embassy website says it takes 3 - 5 days to process the application so not long to go to Nov 1.

Also, out of curiosity, if the Thais test positive for CoVid but are asymptomatic, do they have to stay in hospital or can self isolate at home?  Surely there arent enough hospitals to send all positive cases there?

Lastly, if the "non-quarantine" hotel stay is just to wait for PCR test results, can it be done in Pattaya, or must be done in Bangkok - and similar, if living there and not a tourist, can this be done at home instead a hotel?

Have a great day all ????

  4. Hello All,

Looking at travelling to Thailand in a couple of weeks but seems despite the country opening up there are still a few drawbacks.  Wondering if anyone out there may be able to answer a few questions that have crossed my mind.

Lets assume vaccinated entry with no quarantine on the new pass scheme.

If asymptomatic but test positive for CoVid, can I isolate at home with family or do I get sent to hospital/ASQ.

In the event of an asymptomatic positive test, does insurance cover any quarantine accommodation required, and if so where is this accommodation?

In the evnt of testing positive prior to departing the country and hence requiring a quarantine or self isolation period, what happens if this results in a visa overstay?

If someone I live with tests positive, do I need to self isolate at home or do I get sent to a quarantine facility?

Can I rent a second home to use for self isolation in case required?

With a view to entering Thailand on 1/2 November, is the general feeling that the facilities at Suvarnabhumi be well prepared for the new requirements or would it be wise to stay away for a few days longer?

Thanks in advance for any answers anyone may have ????

  5. Hi all

I was wondering, what exactly is the procedure to follow when involved in a car accident. I ask, as I often see minor fender benders where the cars remain in the middle of road causing huge traffic jams - I assume this must be to gather evidence for the insurance companies is it?

Say for example as farang had a minor accident, and pulled over to the side of the road as opposed to remain in the place of the incident - what would happen then?

  6. Hello

I am looking to buy a gaming joystick for my laptop, but as yet have been unable to find one. I have already been to Tukkom but rather surprisingly they did not have what I was looking for. I need one that has a twist axis and also a top hat. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

  7. I entered Thailand a few weeks ago on a regular 30 day visa on arrival with all expectations of leaving this weekend keeping me within the 30 day limit. However, circumstances have changed and I will now not be leaving until 2 days after the 30 day period has expired. Is it possible in Pattaya to get a 3 day extension, or am I going to have to leave the country and come back again. Also, does this affect my eligibility to return to Thailand in 4 months time?

Thanks in advance for any help you may have to offer.

  8. I am owning an condo on Central Pattaya, but I cant sleep at night because the people in condo next to mine are very noisy. I speak already with the building management who let out the condo but they no want to do anything. Should I call the police or condo owner, or wait for management to do something?

    Thank.

  9. Maybe its just me but most of you guys seem to criticise the government regardless of what it does. Lets just hypothetically say for a minute that the headline of this topic was 'Thaiiland does not declare any hoilidays to help cope with floods.' Im sure the same people complaining about the hoilidays now would then be complaining about the lack of hoilidays. I guess some people were just born to winge, even if its not their own country. Ive said it before and Ill say it again - my wife always says, if you dont like it you know where the airport is (Suvarnabhumi anyway!).

  10. I must apologise as I digress slightly here. Im just curious - all these people who constantly criticise the government and Thailand on this forum regardless of who the government is, do you live in Thailand, and if so why? Like my wife always says, if you dont like it, you know where the airport is. Can you imagine a Western country dealing with problems similar ot this and we had a bunch of 'immigrants' criticising how we were dealing with the situation on their own forum on the internet? Think about some of the names you's be calling these foreigners.

  11. I am shortly going to start independantly renting out my condo. Can anyone advise the best way to collect money from tennants - ie through internet, or send an agent round to get cash? Im not really sure what the best idea is. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

  12. The prices you list are definitely doable , especially if the misses is contributing the land. However, I would budget about B 1.5M for a standard farang home build out.

I've lived up north for 5 year's now left Pattaya after a stay of 7 year's. Do I miss it not on your life. But price's have gone up. 1.5mil: I would say is about right. When I moved here I got the house a five bedroon I'm now in for 1 Mil: In today's climate 2.5/3 Mil: If I sold it. But and it's a big BUT would you like it up north that is after 5 year's in Pattaya. I know load's that leave and want to go back after a few month's. I also know load's that would never go back. My advice as other's have said is to come up here Rent and give it a go before you buy. More than likely there wont be to many Farang's there, or shopping place's for Farang food. The way of life is much slower. But on the good side it is Thailand, Pattaya is just in Thailand. Price's are 30+% cheaper for most thing's. Best of luck with what ever you do. And think on do you want to bring your children up in a place like Pattaya????? I didnt that's why I left. Stand by for flack on the last bit.

To be honest I was actually what education my kids would get up in the North. I am only in Thailand 4 months a year so they dont learn much English from me - do the schools up North teach Inglish goood? Im not too worried about them growing up in Pattaya - we are at the top of the hill in Soi Khao Talo so far enough away from the regular 'pleasures' of Pattaya to hopegully not get corrupted!!

  13. At the moment I live in Pattaya and have done for almost 5 years but as my family is getting bigger I have been discussing with my wife the possobility of getting a bigger house. She then pointed out to me that if we were to leave Pattaya and head North the houses are very cheap - she said I could get a reasonable house for half a million and a large house for 1 million, as she already owns land up there. Can anyone offer me advice over wether a move would be as good idea and are the houses up in the North (Kalasin) really that cheap or is MRs just being overwhelmingly optimistic as usual?

  14. Hi all,

Many thanks for the numerous repleis. It has been most interesting following this thread. In case anyones wondering, Ive decided that I think Im going to try the Wing Tsun for a bit and see how that goes. Wish me luck!

    Many thanks

  15. Does anyone else find that here in thailand their sons or daughters dont seem to get their own room till a lot later than thy would in the Westrn world. My daughter still occasionally tries to pop into bed with me and my wife but I am trying to discourage her and convince my wife that we should convert the spareroom for her. It particularly annoys me when she puts on her DVDs in our room. I - only being her for 4 months a year- am of course not allowed to shout at her (she wouldnt understand anyway). Is this pracise normal for thailand?
