  1. On the income part, pre-2019 you only had to show income, period. Now that income, at least 65,000 THB/month (which does not really make sense because it can vary) or less if offset by Thai bank balances, has to be certified by the Thai bank that it was deposited here in Thailand. This is a big difference. Perhaps you don't want to deposit all of it. Well, too bad.

  2. Regarding the income/bank balance combo, I checked with CNX Thai Immigration last week and it continues to be in effect. The big change is that before, we had to certify monthly income via an embassy affidavit. That was it. Now we have to certify via our bank manager that the money was actually deposited in our Thailand bank account. That's a big change for a lot of people.

  3. Before 1 Jan 2019, USA citizens got an affidavit from our consulate stating, "I affirm that I receive a monthly income of $XXX dollars". Assuming the amounts qualified, that was acceptable by Thai Immigration. Those days are gone and now Thai immigration wants our bank manager to certify our USA income coming into our Bangkok bank account(s). This is new and very problematic. It's not just our income only but that income has to be deposited in our accounts in Thailand. Please see my attachment (Thai Immigrations to bank managers) in Thai below.

  4. I think that all you need is your lease with the landlord to get the TM 30

. Otherwise, you should go to the Thai Immigration TM 30 people (New building at old Airport location) and explain your issue with the landlord. I believe that actually, the landlord is responsible for getting the TM 30 for you from Thai Immigration although you can get it on your own if you wish.

  5. So as of 1/1/19 Thai Embassy/Consulate are out of the income verification business. When I asked CNX Thai Immigration about this the other day they did not know anything about it. They (the big they!) also said that without USA Consulate income verification they will only rely on 800,000 (400,000 marriage visa) written certification by a Thai bank. I'm sure this will change for better or for worse. I would appreciate any updates.

  6. The Social Security Office for Asia is in the US Embassy, Manila 63-230-12000 or email Jose Jonjie - FSP Manila <[email protected]>.He is current contact person but they come and go. Whoever is there is usually very responsive. I have had good success with them. They know everything. Don't waste your time anywhere else especially USA SSA in America. The foreign spouse does not have to have lived in USA for 5 years but it does make it a lot easier. Call Manila for the details. Good luck.

  7. hello fellow members!

I applied for a visa type O based on volunteering/internship in stockholm, sweden. They refused to give me a multientry claiming

that they only issue single entry.

Now I got my type O single entry but I intend to stay longer than the three months issued, I will work too so i´m gonna get a WP.

Did the embassy do wrong not issuing/refusing to give me a multientry?

What are the chances (not easy to answer, I know) to go back and claim a multi?

How much do this set me back, what am I forced to do with the single instead of the multi?

Thanks for your understanding of me being a novice in this matter.

I am a USA citizen and get an A-O pension visa annually. in addition i get a multiple entry visa at the same time. If I were you i would appeal their decision.
