  1. Any help on where i can buy this, i'm living in Chiang Rai but it would be worth a trip to CM if i can find the right deal, i'd be looking at buying 100 Pks 250Grams, if anyone has info i'd appreciate it you could PM or post any details you might have.

I'm not that fimiliar with Chiang Mai so the location and a contact nuber would be a great help, also the price if that's not asking too much.

    Best Rgds.

  2. Hi Loofa

I have just sold my house in Chiang Khong, i'd lived there for 7 years and decided we had enough of that enviroment, i then began my search for a new abode, i'll tell you now it ain't easy, after looking at at least, 20 properties we are now living in an apartment (1 room), and may i ad very happy to do so.

In our experience we encountered many false promises and dowright lying of the backteeth to last us a lifetime (be careful) as it's never all it seems, having said that i wish you luck with your quest (many people are) lucky and find what they are looking for, if you want a more personal view of our experiences feel free to pm me, i'm not prepared to name names (places to aviod etc), in public.

    Good luck

  3. Hi i'm living in Chiang Rai and would like to take a 4 month break starting in Jan next year, i have breathing difficulties and the smog that overwhelms this erea at this time of year is almost unbearable.

it was suggested that Prachuap Khiri Khan might be the place i'm looking for, does anyone have or know someone that has, a small bungalow/aparment for rent for this period, i don't like beaches bars or anything that goes along with,it, and it must be quiet, i have been informed that there are places there that may suit my needs, i know it's a lot to ask for but, if you don't ask you never get, maybe i'm being vaive, if so excuse my ignorance, also wi-fi/tv would be good and any help on the best way to get there would be a plus.

Any feedback would be apprciated, pm would be better if it's a genuine maybe.

    Many thanks

    Woralak

  4. My quote went pear shaped so here it is (just for you Jubbs), for ya babies heed click on the untitled (BMP).

looking at your bmp file, did you mean 'burrito in the sky' woralak tongue.png

Soz Gaz, it looks like a steak and kidney pud to me, (babies heed), this is what Jubbs was refering too.thumbsup.gifbiggrin.png

  5. Home made pie in the sky. Better be quick or I'll finish it tomorrow.

That looks really tasty, i've attempted to make my own but failed miserably, the pastry is either hard or soft, can't seem to find a happy medium wink.pngsad.png , thanks for making me sick.gif .

So there I was, sitting on my throne in my office while listening to my favourite song of all time (link below) when I happened to look out of the window and I saw another beautiful pie in the sky. I know some of you may have seen it too but I am probably the only one who managed to get a decent shot of it, perhaps because of the quality of my Canikon infinity-zoom camera my wife recently bought for me while I was waiting for her in Starbucks smile.png

I'm blessed to have such a beautiful, amazing wife and so lucky she isn't an ex-bg like most other expats wives, she must have been the only village girl living in BKK that wasn't working in a bar when I met her, how fortunate! Sometimes when I tell other expats I meet that their wife used to be a whore they don't take it too kindly, I really don't understand why, maybe that's why I'm so misunderstood sad.png

Sorry, I digressed, back to the topic at hand which is the pie. The reason I looked out of my window was because a couple of pesky soi dogs had wandered onto my property. I've told them numerous times in faultless Thai (I'm fluent by the way) that they should stay off my land but they won't listen, I might have to resort to beating them like one of my neighbours does. It's time to take the Shrek out now as I'm in training, I hope to join the next Hash and I'd like to try and keep up with the testosterone group who are always at the front, usually I walk with the ladies and talk about myself but I think the guys might need some relationship advice and who better to give it them than me?! tongue.png

I've been trying to find a picture of my favourite Pie in the Sky. but can't find one that does it justice, Anyone have a pic of a very pale babby's yed with chips and Gravy ? obviously it needs to be in orbit too smile.png

Here's a tribute to all you Soi Dogs and lowlifes out there in CR , especially the ones potentially married to whores biggrin.png

  7. Thats in the area where my wife has family and I think it will be difficult to draw in a TOT connection, unless you got a wireless connection-and then bye an antenna to put on the backside of your pc(KVC).

The last year 4BB have done huge progress, and put up a box on the pole, infront of the houses-and I have only heard good things about it(I wood go for that)-I have a wireless from TOT and every one else here can not get TOTs signal-I am fine whit my constant 6GB.

But you can ask TOT try, and if they can not get a signal there, they will say so-they test it before they leave.

Ok. I just called my wifes uncle, and he said, that TOT is ok. out there-that is what most people have he said.

Good luck whit this and everything else.

    Thanks Brian.

  10. I'm looking for 1 or 2 bedroom bungalow for long term rent, my contacts are exausted, i've looked at 5 properties already but, how should i say, were below par, does anyone out there know somewhere, half decent that would be worth a look, i'm living in Chiang Khong and would like to be nearer the city, the last three trips to look at recommended properties have been a waste of time.

Furnished/unfurnished either would be ok, as long as it's clean and well kept, western toilet/ kitchen etc, but please save me the bother of driving to Chiang Rai under false pretences, if you have any genuine information please PM me.

  11. I would recommend the watchmaker on the corner of the street opposite Edisons and the Thai Farmers kiosk beside the main entrance of the Nightmarket.

He has been there for over 20 years that I know of,he speaks good English, will give you a fair quote (which permits a slim haggling as well ) and it will be ready ,when he says it will be ready for collection,He has sold us & serviced many watches for the whole family over the years. He is also honest enough to say if it is beyond repair.

    Wiley Coyote

Theres another guy on the corner of the soi and main street that runs down past Edison(Tops) towards the Wangcome Hotel. We have bought watches from him and also had repairs done and cheap as well. He has been there 25 years that I know of.

Thanks Big Gary, your directions are better than mine.

    It is the same watch-maker

    Ta

    Wiley Coyote

We have also used this shop for 7 years off and on, nothing bad to say about this guy, very helpful, very polite and very good service both for buying and repairs, we haggled the first time but now he knows us he charges accordingly.

  12. Looking for help with persoal pension (stakeholder Scottish Widows) also tax documents, are there any in Chiang Rai area that maybe familiar with these type of things.

    Thanks for any advice.

  13. Hi Chiang Mai looking for a good old Engish roast for this Sunday, can anyone point me in the right direction, yorkshire puds roast beef etc.

    Cheers all.

  14. Update on my Laptop, in the end there was no need to bother my son in the US, Bargash did me a huge favor, he came and fixed it for me, many thanks Bargash it was very nice meeting you, hope your scooter is up and running, and we are glad your wife enjoyed the food, plenty more of that if your over this way you are both very welcome, thanks to all those that posted information for me, it is appreciated.

  15. Yeah, but can you imagine the peace we would have here.

Come on Brits, only 11000 baht for a one way ticket back to blighty

I looked at these 21,000baht fares recently but sneaky BA don't advertise their prices with tax so it is almost 40k when the tax is included sad.png

OUCH, cheers i was just looking at the flights, are you 100% sure about this ??????.

  16. Update on my laptop, i have been in touch with my son who lives in the USA, he is going to have a look at it by a romote link up (logmein), i'll keep you posted.
