that is end of small beach road, located on end of street, its attached to main road toward Aonang Villa, where main beach road turns toward(Near Police Box) Mac Donald direction, there's small beach side road you can keep walk through. its where all the long tails boats awaits to transfer people to Centara Grand and other hotels on other side of Mountain cliff. just walk straight through the small beach road, you will find bunch of out door massage places as well.

better forget about new hospital in Town. good sources said, the plan had a license issues, and it will open as a Hotel instead. thus, No new international hospital in Krabi.

i hear you. i also lived in Samui about 2years previously and had used 3BB because it was the best option since TOT sucks big one(i had them before switching to 3BB). you actually have got another option of CAT ADSL service(this may cost you extra if your soi does not have CAT lines, as they will install extra line to you home if you agree to pay them. when i was there, my office used CAT adsl at 2.800baht monthly and at home i used 3bb premier line at around 1,300baht monthly. i think it was 8m or something but it was very reliable compared to TOT. but 599, or 699 packages are shit since its for Thai & domestic uses. if you deal with many of oversea websites then go for higher rate of premier ones but like someone said already anything over 1,500 would be rip off. lolz...i am now in Krabi, using 3BB 16mag 1,600baht monthly package and this is very fast and am happy with it.

well guys, i happen to living in Krabi, and happens to involved doing sort of relating business. well not quite, i operate inbound tour company with full services for one of the Asian country and may my figure should be the closest over those expenses. like OP said, there are two way of getting down to Koh Lanta from Krabi. Yes they do have those big & slow boat services that depart twice from Aonang to Lanta. but how are you gonna get to Aonang from Airport? well, they do have that white bus service from airport to Aonang but what about keeping the track of boat schedule time? they only have two boat departures from Aonang to Lanta (http://www.1stopkrab...ing_here/boats/) here is time table and most of them leaves between 10~11am to lanta. and even when you get to lanta, you gotta again hire someone to send you to hotel and that also cost you. which means, you gotta face hassle after hassle and for me, my young back packing days are way long over and can not do it over. and for the land route? some of you gents mentioned about local mini van services and i am not sure about the prices of those van services, but they running on routine services and it stops every time someone needs to get off on the way, some times if van full of Thais, then you are out of luck as it will take shit load of times before you get to the destination. Hotel pick up or private should be the easiest choice but the fare should be around 2500~3000 depend on who will take the job. think about gas money and the ferry fares, driver also have to comeback to Krabi with empty van or car if out of luck. that is like 2hours drives cuz of them dam_n slow ferry waiting hours and if you ask me, i would never drive someone there just to earn couple hundreds of baht unless i have the LPG tank. for the hotels?? it depend on what you preferred. cheap or the decent , for me again, i would preferred to stay at decent clean accommodation at best bargain rate then a cheap lousy guest house. after all this is your vacation right? not a boot camp. if you look around, you will find very decent place at decent rate very easy. cheers~!!!!!

i live next to the construction site, but tell the truth, gotta be very long way to go cuz, been around for last 6months and nothing really progressing noticeably about the site. very few workers wondering around during day times and its about it. maybe it will take 2more years to complete?? seriously, all the constructions in Thailand are same, lazy asses.

Any updates on the hospital in Krabi or the clinic in Ao Nang?

if you wished not to be hassled by boat guys, (i am not sure if they do?) why not stay at Aonang?? Raily bay area may good for peaceful atmospheres and all, but will get pretty bored times to time. you will get those rooms at price you mentioned(Krabi Thai Village,Aonang Cliff, Krabi Chada etc.....but these places is apart from the beach and you may need to walk 10mins or so..)

so far i have not had any problems with this car. i saw many articles and reports from Montero forum Philippine, since thats what Mitsu is selling Pajero sport there, many shots of rusty engine bay or around, but mine is still crystal clear & clean. maybe it something got to do with car wash, i, never allow people to wash inside of hood even they ask me to. i am not sure but maybe washing your engine bay casing those rusty???

anyways, i am very happy with Pajero Sport, eats alot less gas than Fortuner, and feels much slimmer when you drive on tight streets and all.

if you mean by Proof of address for Thai driver license, you dont need to go embassy.

just goto Thai immigration office and pay 500Baht then you are all set, make sure to bring 2 Photo copy with you. they will keep one and give you one back attach to the paper they will give you. that piece of paper is proof of address and just bring it to DMV.

as someone already said above, Iphone from true move is factory sim unlocked one and therefore you can use any of GSM carrier services. my self also used AIS one two call sim, but just changed it to true promotion one. u can buy true sim card, pay only 250baht per month / unlimited Edge/GPRS with internet. it works pretty good and they only ask for your passport. no need work permit. for the WIFI, or 3G service, its 299baht per month(first 3months free and from the 4th month 30hours per month free, then u pay 1.25satang per min.

about the Wifi, if you are in Bangkok or Chiangmai, they have services, but where i am at there is no Wifi coverage, and to make sure, my office got wifi modem and Iphone does catches signal, but i think speed is pretty much same as when i use Edge service from true.(to be honest, i'm not sure if im using edge or wifi, when i'm on it =P) if i'm not missing any, its pretty much same. web surfing is fair & ok. much better than other phones i used to own.

well, people...little bitty i know of, just from my own personal experience for past few weeks i will tell ya what i know of.

i got my self a new 3G iphone. someone gave me as a present few weeks ago. it was brand new, still was in plastic lab when i got it, and somehow it already was jailbroken when i opened it on very first time. well, i didnt know it was jail broken until i accidently hooked it on Itune for register and after some new firmware update brah,brah,brah, it has updated from 2.2 version to 2.2.1 newest version. and base band(this shows on your phone detail on iphone screen) also updated to 2.30.03 which it was 2.28 or something.

thing is after the upgrade many of programs that i had on Iphone before the upgrade had gone including neat video camera i was playing with my 2 sons. clips, songs, files, all gone and thats when i started out doing some reserch about my missing files and then i've now became lil expert on this,LOL =)

there are 3 diffrent kind of iphone 3G are here in Thailand, one is from states,(by AT&T) which factory sim locked one, and then there are one from Italy, this one is expensive because its 100% Factory unlocked version which you can use any of GSM sim. then there are one from Hongkong, which some are factory unlocked and some are jailbroken to use diffrent carrier sim.

ok. this newest Apple update was targeting for Jailbreaking people and the phone that hacking to breaking simlock able to use any other carrier sim card. and blocking all the access or program use of third party devolopers(which some are not allowed in Itune store on some reason)

(there are two types of jailbreaking methols, one is unlocking carrier locks to use any sim card service. and other is simple program jailbreaking to let use of other parties programs & applications.)

actually this new update seems destroyed many of jailbreak phone users around the world by causing those phone to go brink,blocked,death.

in thailand, you have two choice, one is to follow True move promtion and join contract for period of times. or also can buy smuggled oversea iphone from Italy or hongkong.

last few days, i did alot of reserches, since i wanted Video camera back on my iphone and also wanted some more expensive paying applications apple store is asking you to pay to get.

finally, i have done it and learn that even those new updates from apple can not stop simple application jailbreak to use many other goodie programs, if you have factory unlocked iphone and far as i know, one from true move and the Italy version is simular, cuz, both of phone model number's are MB489T & MB489TA and its same series.( there are only few countries & few series model numbers of Iphone that has fatory unlocked model apple allowed)

bottom line, Factory Sim carrier Unlocked IPhone is safe weather you jailbreak it to use other programs are not. as you can always just reset it to restore into original factory mode again simply hook it up on itune and press update.

i am still leaning more about new world of finding good jailbroken prgrams on my phone, so once i learn about it more, i'll keep it post. as long as i know, with this jailbreaking. i have got fine Video Camera on Iphone which apple never placed them in first place.
