  1. I went in to my local 7-11, bought a beer, and saw the attached pic hanging over the meat/dairy cooler while waiting for my hot sandwich order...

I was laughing so hard that the counter staff was looking at me and whispering "farang baa" but it was worth it. There are some cute girls there but maybe asking for some "Warm Sausage Service" might be a little too much up close and personal...

Ya gotta love this place :)

What's really funny (or pathetic) is that you joined this forum over 6 years ago in 2003 and are still unable to read the very simple sentence in Thai script that says (to paraphrase) "If you buy a sausage (sai grog) they will warm it up for you". They should be laughing at you not vice versa.

funny, or pathetic? Get a life!!! i've been in the land of smiles over 10 yrs, still find lots of notices funny, love the pornsuk u-tit road sign, got any more? So, whats really funny or pathetic is, really, well i think you know, eh?

  2. It would be lovely to have fast interest here. I work and derive my entire income online.

We have the 8mb service from True. It was good for the first month and now its slower than the old 1mb. Called the engineers out and they showed that with in Thailand it was 8mb with a local true speed test. What it should have said was "8mb internet with Thailand only". Perhaps I should have read the small print. Me bad.

Last week in Hong Kong airport I logged on to the free throughout-the-airport internet service and it was incredible. I did the work that takes me 3 hours in Thailand in no more than 10 minutes.

    Over there I waited 1 – 2 seconds for a web page. Here I wait 30 seconds.

    Bring on the fast internet.

Does anyone know of any better services than "True 8mb"

(which is certainly not True in the sense of the word)

love to know what your job is? that you need such a fast internet conection, sending emails or uploadind? pesermists the lot of you? cant you all just say " hey, great, look out for subs hitting it?" Thaivisa have a free internet bandwidth meter, try it, works for meeee

  3. WAKE UP guys and be honest. Most of us are not Tourist in the way Thailand want them. We are living here, some for a long time, means we know how things working, where to get cheap food and safe money....THATS what THEY dont like...another thing is we make Thaipeople ask questions and thats the worst you can do to the government in THailand.

I am also here on a tourist Visa atm. I am married but dont have the 400k on my bankaccount anymore....AM I STUPID?? how many Thaipeople do you know with more than 100k on a Bank, specially in times like that.

What do they care that we build houses here, bought cars, opened small businesses for our wifes and support the family in Isaan? The only thing they want is money.

Best solution: come to LOS give your money to the immigrationofficer at BKK Airport, turn around and p11s off They will love you for that!!

Penang Embassy is the last place I ever go again. Staff there is rude and unfriendly. If you are lucky you see a Thai around, most of them are locals, guess they make the decisions too. who gets a visa and who dont.

400k or 800k (unmarried)on a bank, 65k income a month?? ....do you see what the government want?

btw. I heard of offices which take care of all the visastuff incl. money for 20 to 25k ONLY .....good Taxfree income for the immi-officers AND you still save 25k for leaving the country every three month. :)

I am on my 3rd marrage visa, no 400k in the bank. I get my wife to sponsor me. she declares that she earns more than 45k a month, pays the tax on it. we put money, 5k, in her bank, take it out, put it in, take it out, put it in and so on. no probs, just got my new visa a couple of weeks back

  4. it's a shame for every thai national.

Is this the right way to help the local tourism ?

Is this the right way to respect thetourists ?

Not at all, but,,,,,, this is the country we choose to live in. So, it is almost natural for these people to, what was that post? oh, yes, it's ok to con or decieve sombody for money in thic country, but not to steal or sell DRUGS??? mmmmm, who shall we send to the gallotine, pls , spelling might not be good, typing slowly for those that can not read well

  5. Hi.

Stupid question. But what's all this "washing hands" do to a virus that is spread exclusively through the air, i.e. via coughing and sneezing..?? And i highly doubt that those silly masks have any effect on this virus. They can't even hold Diesel soot out, i've tried it.

    Best regards.....

    Thanh

These are the kinds of masks needed and I seriouly doubt that they will spend the money to buy them. N-95 masks $13 (450 baht) to $120 (4000 Baht) each

    Q. Can those face masks really protect me from swine flu?

    A. Yes and no.

The blue surgical masks you've seen being passed out to Mexican pedestrians are better than nothing but probably only marginally useful, said Andrew Pekosz, associate professor of microbiology and immunology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland.

While such masks block the relatively large, virus-carrying droplets sneezed out by infected people, the viruses themselves are much smaller and could easily pass through. Specialty masks, designated N-95 or N-99, are better filters but still not perfect.

For better protection, Pekosz recommends combining a mask with regular hand washing and keeping 3 to 4 feet (90 to 120 centimeters) away from other people. -National Geographic Online

They are striving for the appearance that they are doing something. Closing schools is a publicity stunt, it will accomplish nothing. Proper hygiene and medical surveillance would be a better course.

shut up, at least they are doing something. so, Proper hygiene and medical surveillance would be a better course. Balls, you think you could do better? Sometimes you guys make me feel sick, wake up sad people and get a life, apart from thai visa, thier is life after thailand?

  6. Police should have shown some balls and sorted them out at the time. Could have cleared the airport in a few hours.

I agree, whatever will they do when the old people in Thailand create civil war? Run, run away, we are the knights of neh!!

  7. i prefer beer more than whisky and for me putting ice on the beer is a crime. but again, why thais mix too much soda water with whiskey? i cannot taste the whiskey when they mix soda in it or maybe i have a problem with my taste buds?

what do you guys think about this?

Have you ever seen a Thai that has drunk half a bottle of whisky? not nice, i can tell you. I had a bar in phuket many years ago, Thais paid double just to keep them away.

  8. 2,000 Baht fine. I should think that they will tell you when to report next. My guess is 90 days after June 5th.

In mypassport my 90 day notice reads " Any Alien who fails to comply with will be punished with a fine not exceeding 5,000 baht and with an additional fine not exceeding 200 baht for each day which passes until the law is complied with" I'm sure your passport has the same notice in it? If I were you I'd pop and get a sick note from a doctor. As we are now july 12th it would be intersting to hear how much you did get fined?
