  3. im here on a tourist visa double entry

i will do my 1st visa run on 4th august as it expires on 5th....

i will then fly to bali on the 5th september returning on the 12th sept and whilst in transit will fly to the philippines that same day.

i will return on the 28th spetember and will stay until the 7th october

will i get the standard 30 day visa once i return even tho i will alow the tourist visa to cancel once i leave for bali..

  4. making life easier for foreigners here and not thinking we are all dam stupid, it is us that keep this country afloat and provide the services that they need aon a professinal level, teaches to teach their kids better english so they can get a better education and provide more for their family...

getting rid of the rediculous 150 baht fee that gets added onto any atm transaction on top of ur own banks fee and the currency conversion fees.....

providing more than 6 dam french fries on a plate.....who does this

stop charging 10 buks for a vodka and orange in the clubs i can get this cheaper in my home country...i realise its choice

change the visa structure to entice ppl........giving away free tourist visas is fine but ur only saving 100 buks lets get real here..........allowing backpackers only 15 days to travel before hanv got leave again is crazy......we dont want u ehar for long just give us ur money and piss off...

thailand is a money society, its got worse in a year prices have gone up, yeah the economy is bad so put prices up....

get rid of thai /ferang menus and the mentality that goes with it, provide police with training based not on corruptioin or what they can get out of a situation....

the bar mat incident got highlighted thru out the western world , the very same ppl that come and spend all their money...phuket relies on these very same ppl and to think that ur being watched and convicted...that commander wud have been laughed out anywhere else and probably fired for bringing the country into desripute..

i think a questionairre at the departures wud be great for travellers to fill out....maybe then they will know the views of the real ppl that spend their money here and why they are here and for how long............its time they got real i wont be back for my 4 months regular trip as i do each year ill be taking my money somewhere else that treats me better, provides me with better police protection and if i voice my opinion at something a place that wont throw me in jail for being right

  5. well maybe i will avoid the entry permit and and just let my tourist visa cancel when i leave and just get the natural 30 day stamp when i return......they are just making it more difficult to come here..........i just withdrew 35000 baht to pay my deposit on my apartment and they charged me 50 buks to do it....i wont be coming back here next year cos of the growing costs, violence and complete ignorance to the foreigners that line their pockets

  6. cheers ive re posted in that forum,,,its crazy.......the banks and govt are the worst offendes in any recession, just cos we can afford to come on holiday doesnt mean we dont have to watch our spending....exchange rates lower, higher prices and now more bank fees well over 2000% increases......such a greedy world we live in

  7. i have returned to bangkok for my regular 4 month visit.....as i dont like to carry too much cash i decided to make my withdrawal from the ATM at the airport for my deposit on my apartment.

i took out 20,000 baht and 15000 baht as the limit is 20.

when i checked my bank statement online th efollowing day i was horrified to see a total cost of

    $18 nzd ( new zealand )

    $14 nzd

150 baht x 2 atm fees and my own bank fee of $6 per transaction...thats a whopping $ 58 nzd to take out 1500 buks.....

is that standard or is something wrong here can anyone help or suggest what i do....i cannot keep taking out smaller amounts and keep losing this kind of money.

  8. it is not the party or the people that come here to attend, its the thais that decide they want to rob or beat up the foreigners that come here....i was on koh phang nagn two years ago and come to thailand every year for 4 months, and only saw 1 policeman the whole night searching ppl on the way down the hill for drugs as this is the best way to get money from you by bribing you with a jaoil term...as soon as there is any trouble of any kind its left to the gangs to beat the crap out of you cos we are stupid ferangs....

when they realise that the economy is in such a poor state cos no one wants to come here anymore it will be too late.......but then that is the problem...they know we want to come here for the sun sand and cheaper lifestyle its a beautiful country but they really shold start to protect the tourists from these gangs.......buses and bar gangs in pattaya are rife...my mate got robbed on his 1st day near khao san rd last week its happeneing almost everyday now

  9. ok so i have to go to an immigratin office right!!!!

so if i do my border run on august 5th and activate my tourist visa 2nd entry at what point do i go to immigration to put my visa on hold while i make my trip to bali if im flying on the 6th september and returning 12th....what happens when i return at the airport will they just continue my visa for the rest of the period

  10. i have returned to bangkok for my regular 4 month visit.....as i dont like to carry too much cash i decided to make my withdrawal from the ATM at the airport for my deposit on my apartment.

  11. most of you are saying dont get it at the airport...i got my visa at the embassy in new zealand

    it says and i quote

RE ENTRY....if you will leave thailand before the end of the admitted date as in no2 and wish to return within that date you may apply for a re entry permit at the airport before leaving so as to reserve the rest of the permitted duration of stay.

i assume that getting the next 60 days on the 6th august and then getting a re entry permit before i leave for my trip to bali would be the preferred option therefore upon my return at the airport getting the continuation of my 2nd entry and considering im in bali for a week this takes me to about the 9th october therfore 2 days after im due to leave thailand....

  12. yes i wasnt happy with thaksin taking over actually.......i stay in bangkok each year and once i knew something about how he got his money im now glad hes out....

BUT im a tru mancunian now living abroad and follow it everyday on mcfc and bbc.....we dont get a lot of coverage but thankfully in new zealand ive located a website that i can watch all the premiership games that are being shown live on some kind of satelite tv......

im also a true suporter of man city and i support them regardless of their fortune, misfortune or their place in the league be it premiership or otherwise...

  13. heres the bottom line............it doesnt matter if its city or some other club outside the top 4 that has been or will be bought by foreign investors.....anyone and i mean anyone no matter who they are young or old would be dam happy that a cash rich person entity or investment group will buy their club......

all this BS about i wouldnt want it and i wouldnt be happy is sheer crap............who cares if ur club can now afford a few million more than the likes of united ,chelsea liverpool and the arse.....

is anyone complaining about kaka at 60 odd mill.....or whether ronaldo will go for 70 mill............no because its united and real madrid and its expected......no one complained when chelsea bought up 5 or so years ago and are now regular achievers.........

if your at a house auction and your richer than most people there and you really want the house...what do you do? do you say " oh no i couldnt possible bid more than the big players here"...BS....you bid as high as you need to go to get what you want before any thoer gets it.....its a fact and it will never change no matter whether its football players houses or new businesses..........thats the fact in this world.........so lets hope all the jealous whiners stop their whinging and hoe that some cash or oil rich magnate buys their clubs so they can then compete at the higher ;evel ust like city are now doing...........12 mill for barry, hopefully 30 mill for tevez and robhinos 32 mill are just what it takes to get the player that are needed to ebuld the club from the ground up.....well done mark hughes for getting the vote, im sure his strategies will start to come through soon..rome wasnt built in a day.......

  14. hi, im here in bangkok now on my tourist visa 60 days double entry.

i arrived on 7th june and my 1st entry expires on 5th august.......

im here till 7th october but i wish to take a weeks holiday in bali about 6/7th september until about 14/15th september....

the question is.........what is my best option.....a 30 day extension on my 1st 60 days takes me a few days short of my trip to bali there ruling this out...

if i go to a border and come back in on 6th august and then take a trip to bali a month later can i get a re-entry permit when i arrive back in thailand around 15th september therefore allowing me to stay the rest of my trip here without going out of thailand again.....

if i can get the re-entry permit at the airport to continue my 60 day visa i would do it this way......

any ideas or suggestioins or am i on the right track with this....

i thank you for and future comments

    paul

  15. freedom of speech, the jokes about bar mats, insultinging an official....these all seem to be very strict and controlled things......yest where is the strictness in renting these machines to people from anywhere in any condition....ahhhh thats right......there isnt cos when it involves money its a take it and piss off rule......

anyway shape or form they will get money off these kind of guys....let them rent a bike let them crash it.....its all money grabbing in the end.....i wonder who will pay for the crashed bike now.............

  16. im not sure if i have this right......you spend 4 days, afternoons, sessions it the gym each week and ur concncerned with eating "healthy". and dont really mind spending good money on quality food...

is this why after doing all these metabolic tests in whats right for ur body.....no wonder u need to hit the gym after cosuming 30% in fat in ur daily food intake....

big english breakfasts are known for their fat, especially the bad fats that clog up ur arteries ....this blog seems like a bit of a piss take actually...

i think u need to do some reading up on whats really good for ur body, heart and liver rather than what ur metabolism wants...thast wat processes the food and id hate to think of the battering ur metabolism is taking....

as for good food u may want to try some of the local top hotel chains...they do class buffets and u can savior them over a few hours for around 600baht per person or less.

as for causal food most pubs being of the ferang variety offer standard fare at good prices...one good one being the down under bar in soi 23 suk....

i live in ratchada and i cant escape the places where i can score a god quality meal...and i dont break the bank either

  17. jesus whats the problem with people being so judgemental here...so what if he likes thai girls, so do i.......heres the thing...everyone bags the thai girls and how they are just lookin for rich guys with money, but nost of the westernised ones the ones that live in western countries are more educated in our lifestyle.....

sure bar girls are money grabbers, and yes there are some problems with smoe thai gir;ls but not all of them......so why are you all worried why the hel_l he likes and wants a thai girl.........i also am not too keen anymore about western girls....EG.....often u run around trying to please them ....never dam happy...always bitching about something......

thai girls are happy to be with you, they look great all the time, not often u see a scruffy thai girl....and as for the person that said whats wrong with aussie girls....well havent u heard what they sound like when they open their mouths....go figure........

so skoperism, go for it mate...im agrre able all the way mate and if i was there i would also be hanging out hoping to date a nice thai girl with ya.....

  18. im in business thats what planet im on, i travel for 4 months each cos i can.....as for the norm.....there are a hel_l of a lot of graduates from many countries travelling for longer than this each year...one of my businesses is a labour company for over seas workers.....you would be surprised how many people travel for over 4 months each year...for example 80% of our labour here just in my region employs over 30,000 ppl for the 5 month labour period......think of all the school leavers, trvellers, and just wanderers that trvel like this each year in many other countries and then u will realise that this is not out of the norm.....

the 30 day trip specials are for people like you who can only vacate for 4 weeks each year maybe less maybe a bit more, i run 3 companies, have a product im producing and i also have 3KIDS...go figure.....i do time management, i get what i wish for ..thats the secret..thanks, ill say no more

  19. yeah but as i said earlier its only for flights going for up to 3 months......im going for 4months and guess what the price goes up to...yup u guessed it another 500 buks......<deleted> just plain <deleted>
