  1. Can I get a shoutout on processing times for K3 visas? I mean from start to finish. In the meantime, I applied for a K3 for my wife and provided my address as BKK. However, what will happen if I trasnfer to the US ahead of her? Should I change my application to be from the US instead of here? I understand that applications submitted in the US take much much longer.

    thanks,

  2. DLink 604 user here as well. Using it almost 2 years now and its great. I've been having trouble lately though with both my 604 and my DLink Access Point 2000+. Occassionally it drops my connection, the 604 signal usually comes back but the AP usually needs a hard reboot. Anyone seen this?

    thanks

  3. I found the web browser only slightly useful due to its small screen but still its enough for me to read news. If I can access a sight that's completely text free as all I'll really use it for is reading news anyway. Can anyone recommend one?

PSP Video 9 is OK but overall it takes a long long time to burn a movie - I wish SONY would just stop with this proprietary crap and just allow the darn thing to play straight MPG or AVI so I could just download my existing collection on it.

This baby is great though - I use it strictly as a gaming machine as I already have an IPod but occassionaly do use it for music. I have some games that I wanna get rid of, anyone wanna trade up?

  4. Finally going to front the case to buy the XBox 360. Can anyone recommend a good shop her in BKK to get it? Also, will it play US games? I'm not interested in chipping my 360 (not even sure if U can). I heard that games, like with the Sony PSP, won't be region coded. Any advice?

    thanks

  5. UMD Movies are region coded but games are not so any games you purchase here or anywhere for the PSP should work Dandy. Note though that selection is limited and sometimes get pretty pricey sometimes up to $10 - $20 cheaper. As far as movies go, if you have downloaded any movies in any non-locked, copyright protection formation, you can convert them to Sony PSP format using a free converter called PSP Video 9. Haven't really been to Pattaya much, if you are in Bangkok though I recommend going to either Panthip or 6th floor MBK (it may be 5th floor, I believe 2 floors down from the movie theatre floor as they have a pretty good collection - haven't had luck purchasing 2nd hand games though.

  6. I get them as well but mostly for my X Box. I always have trouble with my DVD'S. Sometimes they won't play on my X Box or PS2 but will play OK on my laptop. Sometimes, stuff I burn on DVD will not work on my X Box but will work on PC. I'll use the same program later to burn another slideshow on the same type of DVD but it will work on my X Box. Go figure

  7. Has anyone bought the PSP's selling in Pantip or MBK? Wondering if they an only play Japanese games or can they be modded to play games purchased in the US as well. I also download a lot of movies and MP3's do they use proprietary formats like ACC in order to play?

  8. Dekka - sorry I missed that blurb about the price - was focused more on what you got. Apparently in Japan, X Boxes are just sitting there. Dekka - is this modded 360 compatible with older X Box games? I'm assuming you don't have X Box Live now? Would really be interested to see if it works with Live.

  9. Guys:

A buddy of mine bought a gian Sony flat screen TV and they gave him a free PS2 mini - not the PSP, the PS2 slimmed down version. Am not a big PS2 fan but I've been playing Winning 11 with some buddies as well as a new WWE/WWF Wrestling game. Also, I'm not going to hold my breath and wait for RE4 to come out. So I'm buyin it off him. When I was shoppin around a while back, I heard that this slimmed down version can't be modded and therefore won't play any of the pirated games - can anyone confirm this?

    thanks

  10. I've only some problems with DVD's playing on my XBOX but usually the Silom ones are fine. Also have had not problems with TV's but not sure if I played on multi-system TV's. Do you guys have XBox Live? Looking for deatmatches with local connections - also looking to trade some games. I'm not modding my baby or I may get locked out of Live and that means no more Halo2!

  11. Brought my XBox from the US and bought a new power brick that plugs directly into the Box. Works like a charm! 1st floor Pantip, towards the back is a game shop, forgot the name though. But if U walk into Pantip via the front entrance, keep walking towards the down escalators on your left (not the one right in front of the entrance that goes to the 3rd floor). Walk past the escalator and to the back, take the stairs down and it should be in front of U. Do you have an XBox Live Gamer Tag? I'm trying to find local Live gamers here in LOS.

  12. Yeah it probably is done out of ignorance than anything. Even if u did know it's still your opinion and if there's no law against it then i guess there's not much one can really do.

American flag may be offensive to those in Vietnam due to the 'American War'

Swastika may be offensive to Jews

Turkish flag may be offensive to Armenians

etc . . . ., different symbols mean different things to other people, there is no universal symbol.

  13. I downloaded them off the Net and the file sizes are in the range of about 300,000 - 350,000 but when I select the video files as a source and beging to copy it'll say not enough space. I used the DVD package that came with my DVD burner so I though all this re-sizing, re-encoding would be handled by that.

    thanks,

    Jeb

  14. Anyone know what size DVD do the guys on Silom use? I just finished downloading all of the Lost and Battlestar Galactica episodes and I wanna move them to DVD. I bought a spindle of 4GB discs thinking I could at least put 2 but no go - it's odd though, the file sizes for each episode is only 330,000MB's so I figured 4.7GB would be enough. Any ideas?
