  1. Difficult to figure out if this is the same as the free Windows app Crossy posted some time ago, and went offline after the Expat TV debacle.

But I guess I'll have to hurry now, since today is the last day I can sign up for a 13.200 Baht set top box, with no channel list or link to the website available  LOL.

It seems someone is in a hurry to fill their bank account before all streams are cut off.

  2.
Also their site shopping cart isnt configured.

The likelihood of me giving money to idiots like that is zero.

I've been using them for many years and never really had an issue. Every company can have issues at one time or another, and would dismiss them for a few hours down. This has happened recently to WhatsApp.

  3. Hopefully these guys are working to solve the issue, as their business is at stake! Good luck and hope they are back on air very soon. It's only when you don't have it that you realize how much you miss it.

  4. Been regularly for 18 years and still go. Everyone knows the NP people were part of the problem. Let's hope they also clean up the rubbish. Progress can be positive but was always negative on Samet. I have been going to only one beach on Samet for the last 10 years which has been nearly untouched by the "progress" and that was fine. If there are less speedboats, jet skis and sarong peddlars, all the better for it.

  5. 100 millions Baht losses sounds rather exaggerated!
That would be a lot backpackers spending 500 baht a room, and another 500 baht on food and drinks.
Khao San road businesses shouldn't complain, they have had it good for decades. Most businesses have ups and downs, if smart they plan ahead to stay afloat in the very occasional downturns. Compare beach resorts which have 5 months of high season followed by 7 in low season, they either have contingency plans or go to the wall - most survive.

  6. I watched a very interesting program on uk tv the other day (sorry cannot remember the name). It brought in groups of people to test groups of people with knee joint pain. Two groups tested glucosamine and turmeric for its effects for a period of one month. Those testing glucosamine showed zero improvement, in fact the ones given placebos had slightly better results. Conclusion was that glucosamine was not only an expensive supplement and did not show any benefit.
On turmeric, one group given powder to mix with water and ingest, another used turmeric capsules, and third group were asked to cook with it. Results were zero for first two methods, but great results when cooking with it. The conclusion was that as used and fried as with many Indian food, it releases all its positive properties.

  7. I've stayed at Sleep with me hotel through Agoda 3 months ago and only asked for 1000 Baht, which can happen frequently in Thailand. Seeing the type of tour group they have, it doesn't surprise me. Some tourists thrash their rooms!

I also had a 500 deposit not returned on checking out on a hotel in Hua Hin and found the receipt later. On a subsequent visit a month later, I asked for it back and had to make a fuss to get it, but they did pay it.

  8. Chuvit Garden has been closed for "renovation" since 7 June, and walking by frequently nothing seems to be going, and sure no renovation.

Does anyone know what is going on and when it may re-open?

It's a very pleasant bit of green space on Sukhumvit, one of very few with a short running track, nice gazebo and when open with lots of people using it including families with toddlers. I like I am sure many others miss it being open. I just hope Khun Chuvit has not sold it to a developer for another huge condo.13a309c4e5ad9547506a285f072b86ad.jpg
