  1. Hi, have decided to change my regular staying place in Patong next visit and have narrowed it down to 3 possibilities. The 'Siam Hotel' or 'Baan Siam Guesthouse', both in Soi Banzaan or 'The Red Villa' on Nanai rd. If anybody has stayed at these places could you post your ratings of the accomodation. Thanks.

  2. Hi, I am planning on doing a brief stay in Hong Kong during my 3 month stay in Thailand. I want the option of going to and from Hong Kong whenever it suits me after a initial 30+ days in Thailand. Could someone let me know if a double entry visa, obtained in Australia is good for two, 60 day periods or I need to obtain two 60 day visas to have the flexibility I want. Also could someone let me know if a Thai national needs a visa to travel to Hong Kong or only a passport. Thanks

The Visa is good for 2 entries of 60 days, each entry can be extended at Immigration for a further 30 days.

When you exit Thailand that entry is finished, even if you have only used a few days of it.

You can keep that stay alive by getting a Re Entry Permit at Immigration. It does not add days , it keeps your stay alive. If you wish to do this the fee is 1,000 Baht for a single or 3,800 Baht for a Multi.

According to this a Thai National can enter Visa Free for up to 30 days.

Thanks for the info Lite much appreciated.

  4. Does anyone know of any hotels in Bangkok that have the Australian Network as part of their cable/sat tv. Apart from ringing them all individually I cant seem to find any on these forums or accom. booking sites. Could'nt make it back for the opening game this Friday night and am hanging to see it, cheers.

you would probably have more luck finding a Aussie Bar to watch it in, one on sukhumvit 7/1 or there is one on Sukhumvit 23 (near soi cowboy).

Thanks bkkjames found just the place on soi 23 with game starting at 9.30, much appreciated

  8. You don't say where you are but if you are in/near Chiang Mai, there is the sunday market at Ruam Chok (1001 Mae Jo road/inner ring) where there is a wide selection and I'd expect to pay around 25K for a semi-auto like a Dream or Wave and between 30 - 40 for a Click or Airblade. All depends on KMs and condition obviously. Good thing about Ruam Chok is that the prices are on the bikes so no dual pricing. :o

    Cheers,

    Pikey.

Thanks Pikey forgot to mention I will be in Udon Thani
