  1. Afternoon chaps

I am currently in the UK awaiting my wife and son to come and stay permanently. The issue has arisen where my sons Thai passport has expired and needs renewal. This can't be done however because they need both parents present. Is there some kind of form I need to sign to send on to my wife? I can't find what I need on the Thai embassy site in London. (Also he has a British passport)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

  2. Hi guys

The wife has her A1 English test August 26 and I need to grab my sons passport. My wife plans to stay in a hotel and I go back to the UK to finalaize a few things related to her visa. My question is do we need covid test to travel to Bangkok?

If she books a hotel room does she need to show a negative test?

    Cheers

  3. Evening gents

In the process of organising my wife's spouse visa for the UK and I am confused by the 28 day rule.

The requirements state that the most recent covered date of the statement must not be more than 28 days old.

    Does this mean for example

I have a statement it says 11 June to July 09

Does this mean it can't be older than 28 FROM July 9th ????

If someone could explain it to me I would be very grateful.

    Cheers

  4. Evening Chaps

Got on email July 19 telling me that my son's passport is now ready for collection from Trendy Tower.

I emailed back asking if I could arrange the courier service because I live in Hua hin. So far I have been playing email tennis, and no closer to getting his passport. To top it off, if it is not collected within 30 days it is returned to the UK. When I go on the website and press the courier service I can't seem to advance from there. Surely it can't be this hard to get a passport back.

Has anyone had a similar issue?

  5. Hi guys

I am leaving Thai and heading back to the UK in a month or so and then apply for my wife's spouse visa. I have a question regarding the application for the visa. Currently we have a child with both a British and Thai passport, would he be classed as a dependent even though he has UK citizenship?

My next issue is the wife has just fallen pregnant with our second child, would she be able to have the second child in the UK and would the NHS insurance taken out while applying cover the pregnancy? We plan to apply for the visa ASAP so her pregnancy does not get too far advanced.

Financially I have enough savings to satisfy the visa requirements, and intend on renting a place in the UK when I get back. I will have no job, just intend on showing the savings as means for financial support.

    regards

  6. Hi guys

I need to renew my passport for my child. We are here in Hua hin at the moment and his British passport needs renewal. The snag I have is the counter signature section, where it asks for a signature from a "professional" who is a UK passport holder etc.

My issue is I no longer know any British guys here in Thailand. Has anyone got any ideas or know of a way I can tackle this?

    Cheers

No, not if you apply for the Non O Visa based on marriage.

    Single one way ticket fine.

I advise you look at travelling through Helsinki (Finnair) or Amsterdam (KLM) as they had some very reasonable one way ticket prices.

Direct flights are extortionate and avoid the UAE.

I will probably fly with Qatar airlines they have always been good in the past. KLM are decent enough, will choose one of these.

  8. Hi Chaps

Have decided to go with the imm o visa rather than risk the visa exempt due to the travel ban. Hopefully with the imm-o I can argue that I am travelling to Thailand to support my family and to gain employment while there.

    Couple of further questions

On the website where you apply for the visa, one of the categories asks about employment. I am currently unemployed but have adequate funds in bank etc. If i select the unemployed option would that create a a problem for the issuance of the visa?

Also with regards to the travel insurance I am applying for an imm-0 visa, how long should I get the insurance for?

Finally does anyone have any recommendations for the ASQ hotel?

    cheers
