They may not have enough money and hands to help quickly the stricken people of the neighborhood but it seems they managed to build a dry walkway for . . .

So intervening to protect citizens is the same as NATO invading Libya?
Just for clarification, do you agree with Putin invading Ukraine?
Intervening to protect citizens? Destroying the most prosperous African nation (which is still in turmoil as of now) is protecting citizens?
I condemn Russia but also the other side that only fuel the flames . . .

Like to tell us the last time NATO invaded a sovereign country?
Libya, for example . . .

Correction on the date: Congo vs Katanga : 1960-1963
What I say is that Russia is wrong but that parties on the other side are also wrong.
And our media are more propaganda than objective reports . . .
i certainly do not take side, I only want the fighting to stop.

I have seen war, got hungry, seen my house completely destroyed, all that in the name of Democracy but in reality for the control of the copper industry (Congo vs Katanga, 197-1973)

People and countries are judged on their actions and there are consequences for all not least the innocent people being murdered by Putin, shame on you!
Do you really believe people are judged by their action? It is the winner and the powerful who determine the history . . .

Here we go again with the (mostly) negative comments towards Thailand . . . Why do we need to take a position (against Russia)? Why only white versus black, “who is not with us is against us” . . . ? We do not know anything about the real thoughts and actions of politicians, military and other rich and powerful men, none of them having righteous motives
Many things are in the play, Freedom (we cherish it . . . euh . . . hello Covid vaccination mandate), Democracy (we fight for it . . . In the EU, the Commission takes the decisions, the Parliament handles only less important matters, just like in the old URSS), Economy (selling arms, controlling energy – think of North stream 2, . . .) . . . these are some of the visible reasons. But there are more obscure reasons, one of them being the need for the USA to rally its NATO and EU allies to quell the beginning of some dissensions withing the group . . .
For me, it is wise for Thailand to take a neutral position.

I condemn the action of Russia but I just as well do not approve the actions of our western friends. The USA, Europe, NATO, are teasing the Russian bear ever since the fall of Yeltsin and are now “astonished” to see the bear react. The Russian operation in Ukraine is not different from what the USA and its allies have done in different parts of the world since the end of WW2 . . . Thailand would be wise to stay out . . .

Thailand to “focus on quality tourists who can spend more”.
Well, those quality tourists will spend their money in the higher quality tourism businesses (mostly owned by the richest and well-connected upper-class) and leaves the smaller operators, the Mom-and-Pop shops, . . . and the ten thousand lower class Thais without proper income . . .

"the ACT said that the deletion of the punitive clauses, in Sections 144 and 185 of the current Constitution". . .
This was left there to get at the Shins, but they now realize it can be turned against them . . .

. . . that Thailand is ready to solve . . Whaooo . . . I did not know that Thailand had the capability to solve such a difficult problem. Why did it not solve it earlier . . .

Because of greed, blackmail and stupidity. And do not think it is only the Thai . . . All governments, US, Canada, Europe, . . . all, waived the responsibilities of the vaccine manufacturers and that for experimental and not fully tested vaccines

I believe no available vaccine world-wide received an emergency authorization for children under 12-16 years old. How are the ministers going to solve that issue?
By the way, did you know that more than 200 anti-Covid19 vaccines are under development in the world?

And how serious is all this? In my country, in the beginning, the AstraZeneca vaccine was not allowed for people over 65 and the second jab given 3 to 4 weeks later. A month and an half later, the same Astrazeneca is given to people older than 65 by priority, with the second jab given about 3 months later. . . Rigorous science.
I took the jab reluctantly, hoping to return "soon" to my wife in Thailand . . .

Favipavir, drugs, vaccines, all based on serious studies and rigorous tests . . .
Here is a serious opinion:
"It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of The New England Journal of Medicine." -Marcia Angell, MD ("Drug Companies and Doctors: A story of Corruption." NY Review of Books, Jan. 15, 2009.)

It is not only in Thailand that we can find people of responsibility not following their (sometimes own) Covid-19 rules. There are many examples in the U.K., in the European countries, in the the U.S.A. . . .

The IDP is not actually a driving license but more an official standardized translation of your driving license. In theory and, in many places, in practice, you have to show your driving license together with the IDP

Artists - and not only them – want to be known. The best way, the best PR, is to chock people . . . so that people talk about them and their "art".

Conspiracy theory? Did the government plant Covid here and there?
Anyway, I hear sighs of relieve from Prayout and Co. as they have now a valid excuse to ban those pesky students’ gatherings . . .

Long, very long time ago, I enjoyed the freshly prepared meals in the restaurant cars. But the last times I traveled a few years ago, they served only frozen junk reheated in a micro-wave oven . . . I was disappointed . . .
