  1. Hello everyone

Happy, glad to hear you have moved in and found a good Thai gardener, I may want his services a bit later so hopefully you can supply his contact details. Les, I've had a place built about 15 Kms from Nong Phai in Wang Bot, happy to supply details of my experiences/costs if you want them. We have been using the pool at a resort in Nong Phai which is good value for a bit of R&R, entering Nong Phai from the North take the frontage road, go past Tesco Lotus and turn left at the car sales place. The resort is about 1.5 Kms down on the right hand side, through the arch and you are in the car park, 30 baht per head to use the pool, which is clean and the food is reasonable. Bit crowded now the kids are on school hols and the Karaeoke wears a bit thin at times but it's a nice place to spend a few hours and of course they sell the amber nectar.

    Kind Regards

  3. Hi after giving the telephonenumbers didn't here anything anymore. hope for you you tip to phetchabun was ok.

happybkk, well if this person is local to Petchabuhn town then I just may take you up on that offer but let me tell you what the task will be first.

Garden is about 70tw and will be barren but level when we take the keys so this would be a project starting with getting the soil sorted out first. My wife has a list of shrubs and a couple of smaller trees she wants and would be interested to know if they are available locally. She also wants a water feature and some decent sized rocks thrown about. Me? I'll be looking for some shade as I'll hopefully be recently retired. Not too much to ask eh?

If your man is up to this then may be worth meeting up. We'll be in town on the 27th so if you want to PM me his number I'll have the wife call and we'll go from there or you can post the number here if you wish.

    This person is Thai yes?

    Thanks

  5. Hi,

Living almost 2 weeks now in NongPhai en it's a very nice place to be. Waiting waiting waiting...for land, the homeowner, for everything. Good to learn to be pattiance, but very difficult for me, because in Amsterdam it works very different. Today or tommorrow can also mean after 3 weeks, and thats killing me, but i try to accept it. it absolut not possible to make a appoinment here. they just don't show up.

but when its ready (one day) hen it will be great here.

6 march i have to go to the border for my triple entry visa. i think nong-khai is the best option but when somewone knows how to get there by public transport, that wil be very helpfull.

  6. Hi Cris and other future neighbours,

The trip to Nong Phai started with a warm welkome of my frends family, after finding a house the first day we drive around at the motercycle for a vieuw days. My impression of the Province Phetchabun is very possitif. Not far from bkk, good facilitys and beautiful surroundings.

Unfortianaly after a vieuw days we had a little slider with the moter and i ended up with very much pain in my knie. After the local dokters advice : don't move for a vieuw weeks , we did go back to bkk. Before leaving we see already that they start with making new electric, new windows, new roov, and fixing/replacing a lot of things in the house

In the hospital here they found out that its not broken but a lot of little marks on the picture. So already 1 week now with a spalk and today have to see the hospital again.

My frends mother checked the work at the new house and she say that the working people did a great job already and the are now painting the whole property in and outside. i thing for that money its great that the make a compleet renovation. We only have to pay a bit for replace the thai toilet for a western one in both of the bathrooms and put gardenland and stones in frond of the house.

hope can walk again the 15th and start to fix the garden:)we are tinking of grascarpet, anyone who have experiance with that?

  7. Hi Chris,

It's almost unbelieveble but yesterday (the day whe arrived here) we found already a nice home with a bigg garden for 2500 a month. the owner will fix the place up and we will move in at 15 februari. When whe realy like it we can also buy the place in the future

my frends family lives only 10 km away in a smal villege so thats great. not to close, not to fare also and al facilitys whe need on walking distance

    so almost neighbers next month!!!

  8. Just asked my wife and got the usual I'm not an encyclopedia, I figure it is a town and a wild guess at the population I would say 4-6000, it is a pleasant and friendly market town. Sent you my phone number by PM please feel free to contact me, there are internet cafes also.

Have a safe trip and look forward to meeting you

    Chris

Chris, thanks again, also for the tel.nr

  9. Knew I would forget something, Nong Phai also has 2 resorts with restaurant facilities

    Chris

thank you very much Chris. your information is very helpfull. now i know that the place is not in the middle of nowere and have good facilitys if you need them. because whe don't have a car but only motorbyke we are looking for a place where its nice and also not far from facilities.

whe wil go tommorow to NongPhai for a week and looking around. Becauce my partner knows the area we plan to settle there, but its helpfull when farang also give information like you did because "hony we have everithing there" sometimes is very different with the reality. so thanks again.

oh...do you know around how many people living in nong phai "city"?

  10. Hi Chris,

I think its very difficult to find information about Nong Phai at internet. Do you know how many people live in Nong Phai? And if there are a lot of facilities over there? What about the population, is it easy to fitt in?
