The reason I started this thread was to share the Ashes experience and have a bit of a giggle with other posters. We have had a bit of bantering and mostly fun thus far, but you have to come along and make such a stupid post. I guess we come to expect it from the less fortunate, ie., those standing at the back of the queue when the smarts were being handed out.

Let's hope, from an Australian point of view, the Aussies can pull one out of the bag and at least draw the match if not win it. Sadly that is not looking like a possibility at the present time.

if he is in Phuket then go to Phuket town on a Saturday night, still a great night out and plenty of sexy ladies. Totally different to patong and actually have to put the effort in and you may well get the odd phone number for a genuine girl

Hi I am new to these forums and found it whilst I was trying to get a grasp of the whole farang-thai relationship.

Ok let me break down the situation for you guys and hopefully someone can give me some advice as to what to do.

Firstly im a young guy in his early 20's and was recently in Phuket for my 2nd time. Now im a pretty clued on kind of guy but I am just really confused about this whole situation.

I met a girl in a bar during my stays there, she is 20 and very nice. We danced, we drank, we kissed.. her older sister (mid 20's) asked me when I was leaving if i was taking her back to my hotel. Now because I am new to the whole situation I was taken aback and declined, more so because I was rooming with a female relative so as you can imagine it would have been impossible. I freaked out a bit because from her demeanor and the way she acted she DID NOT seem like a stereotypical prosititute. I replied with, "I am not paying for anything", and her older sister laughed and said "no no you werent going to, its not like that". The girl (younger sister) seemed to like me very much, more than one would presume if you were after someone for money. Now I met with these girls again the next 3 nights at the same bar.

The second night in particular was strange because I turned up 2 hours after our predetermined time and she was still waiting for me albeit not happy at the start .

Her older sister stated that she had many "customer but she wait only for you", in broken english which again freaked me out. We danced kissed etc and myself and my female relative walked her and her older sister back to their hotel. The older sister seemed to open up a bit, saying that yes she sometimes goes to bed with foreign men for money but she doesnt like it. Told me how much she got paid, spoke to me about her distaste for thai men and that she wanted to meet a nice foreigner to take care of her and her child. She has a daughter showed us photos etc. It was a pretty in depth conversation for us not knowing them very well. The younger sister said she had never been with a man for money unlike her sister and that she had no job and got money off her sister. They were in phuket to get some money and live in a town in the North east of the country. I had arranged to see her during the day and she asked if her sister could come with her, im not sure if that has any significance but im including it incase it does!

I have kept in contact with her over the last couple of weeks and I have already penciled in that I will be back to Phuket in January. She calls my mobile almost daily, sends me messages and emails on a daily basis. My friends and family think I am gonna get taken for a ride and are making sure I dont fall for this girl! She never asked for money off me even when I offered to give her some (testing the water). My question to you guys is how would I be able to know if I am going to get played. I dont want to get my feelings hurt, nor do I want to hurt hers. I also dont want to miss out on the opportunity of knowing if this girl is actually legit. She said that night she saw me in the club was the first time she had been there.

What should I say to her? Is 5 months too long to hold onto something that was built in 4 nights? Please help me out... this farang is confused

some good advice on here, if i was you i would just take each day as it comes and enjoy it as thai girls know how to have fun.

the problem you will eventually have is that you if you decide to get serious then it will cost you ££ and if you are not in the country you paranoia will kick in and in most cases you will be 95% correct in what you think.

some comments say forget a girl from Issan and only go for the educated uni ones. Well in my experience some uni ones are just as bad

so i would say each lady is different regardless of birth place and education but just remember to be always BEWARE.

your young so take advantage of it, one thing i have learnt being young and living here is that you dont always have to pay for sex, some girls you will never see again but in most cases you will do. Ok... you will end up spending money on her for food and drinks when you go out or when you go out for the day and in the long run will be more than if you just paid her in the morning BUT you will certainly have a lot of fun.

just out of interest where did you meet the girl? I take it it was somewhere in patong? Which bar or club?

I was in Marazion, Cornwall, UK in '99. Weather was fantastic the day before totality. Turned partially cloudy on the day with a huge cloud covering everything on the vinegar strokes. Never been so disappointed. It was, however, pretty surreal as a giant shadow rolled in and tens of thousands of people oohed and ahhed, birds buzzing around not knowing what to do. I saw that too on Fristal beach after partying all night and day, it was well cloudy but as you said on the vinger strokes they broke and had a really good view of it and wasnt dissapointed.

my mate was sleeping in the car cos he was too wasted and i walked about 20 mins to get him to wake up just before it, his reply was f-off. mates ehhh!!!

i use a sling box that is attached to my sky box at home and will be watching on the net.

otherwise i would try TV ants i reckon that will have the majority of the races on as i think no bars will be showing it here.

my friend applied for a holiday visa for a girl about one year ago that got turned down, he is now talking about applying for another holiday visa however its for a different girl.

Now my instinct is that it’s just going to get turned down also but what repercussions could this have? I have heard that it would be very hard if not impossible for him to have a visa granted in future regardless if it is the same lady or a different one.

heard about the ones in Phuket town so will check them out sometime but probably too far to visit on a regular basis.

Will also check out the ones in Kata, when i was at the after beach bar i could seem some just set back from the beach so will see if they are available, not sure if they are the same ones?

does anyone know of any public courts in and around the Patong area?

I know some of the top resorts have tennis courts but they are charging 300bht per person for an hour, which could prove expensive over a month.

Depends where you are in Phuket? but i have seen a shop on the big cross roads by Tesco Lotus in Phuket town on the side when coming from patong.

Just as I would back in the Uk I like to go out one or two times a week to have a good time and some may flame me down but I like to visit Banglar road, inparticular Soi Tiger as it seems to have the fittest girls and best music compared to all the other soi's.

so my question is which bar do you like to visit most frequently and why?

I think Waikiki is a good bar, probably has the cheapest prices and happy hour is on till 11pm. The Itallian onwers always friendly but think that the standard of women has dropped a little but rarely see the bar quiet which is always a plus.

Crazy Horse has probably got two or three of the fittest women you are likely to see in Patong however they usually work as and when they please so can be a hit or miss and the drinks are a little steep compared to most bars.

Queen of Hearts, probably my favourite got two very fit birds that work there at the moment and the Austrian owner is sound and you can always have a laugh with the two thai guys who work behind the bar.

probably get a bunch of replies to this saying Banglar is for the dregs of society etc etc etc, however im sure those 50 year old plus people used to like going out getting drunk and picking up women when they were younger???

The amount of times i see men with Ladyboys its quite alarmingly high, the majority have not got a clue there is going to be a suprise when they get back to the hotel. As mentioned also above the German's dont seem to give a toss.

Finally had enough of renting bikes after a few months and decided now is the time to buy one and these automatics get a little boring so gears is the way forward too.

So after much deliberation and reading reviews on this forum the Suzuki Raider is the one to get as they seem very reasonably priced for the performance and looks. I saw some pictures of Neverdie's Suzuki Swift in a thread on here and have to say it makes me want one even more.

The million dollar question is... does anyone have one in the Phuket area for sale?

Long shot but worth a try otherwise I will just have to keep renting until one comes up.

i have to say i am well shocked at some of the replies on here. The guy made a mistake and is paying for it big time and I think the events and circumstances of the accident are of no importance at the moment but for him to have a speedy recovery.
