Thai Property Reforms: A Boon or Burden for Foreign Buyers?
I believe that house prices in Australia, and elsewhere, rocketed because of supply and demand. More buyers, but no government permission to build new houses. Deliberate policy for the government to get more tax from the "high priced" houses. Land in Bangkok is already more expensive than London. So maybe the prices would not skyrocket. Outside of the big cities, allow houses / condos to be built. Supply and demand to keep the prices down. The problem will be. You buy your reasonably priced property in Thailand. Live in it, and after 180 days you become liable for Thai tax.

Thai PM Launches Project to Transform Thailand into Financial Hub
A check first. How many members have USD or other foreign currency accounts in Thailand ? And how easy is it to get one ? It used to be a difficult thing. Is that still the case ? You cannot be a financial hub if you cannot easily transfer foreign currency. These days I live in Indonesia. My bog standard bank account has 10 different currencies available.

Increased foreign condo ownership could make housing less affordable for Thais
Any time you interfere with the free market, unintended consequences can occur. Some years ago my American friend wanted to sell his condo. It was in his name. The Thai guy next door had been trying to sell his condo for B400,00. Not one inquiry in two years. My friend sold his condo for 1 million baht in 10 minutes. Please explain how limiting foreign ownership of condos is helping the Thais ?
