unbelievable! after 23 years in Thailand suffering either crushingly expensive or limited choice of proper bikes, it's finally opened up over the last couple of years - and literally the month i leave - my all time favourite brand TRIUMPH start selling their long made-in-thailand bikes at sensible money.
the only consolation is that i've already bought the pictured speed triple to arrive home to , hehehehe....
happy biking to all new thai triumph owners!
+1
I've been here 20 years and let's say back then it was so difficult and expensive to own a big bike.
It's got better over the last 5 or 6 years but now there is much better choice than before to buy a big bike with a proper registration and dealer service at a much better price.

Street Triple R at 450K is a pretty good price here for a cracking bike. If it was that price back in April I'd have bought one, not the FZ09.
The FZ09 is a great bike and I'm very happy with it, but the Striple R has many more years of development behind it. Much better stock suspension with a lot of adjustability and it also has ABS. If Yamaha don't start importing the ABS-equipped FZ09 and sell that for the current 435K asking price then I reckon they'll see FZ sales suffer.
also triumph street triple is more of a premium bike if you compare with budget fz09. still, no worries, fz09 is a a blast as well:)
Looks like the Street Triple R is competing against Ducati's Monster 796.
Good competition. IMHO the Triumph edges it

Condorman where did you get this info from?I expected the Tiger XRx to be nearer 550k so i think it's a lot of bike for the (suggested) money
Yes I agree if Cman's quote is correct, only 20.000 more than a T-100 Black and you get so much more bike in the Tiger 800.
I guess the T-100 will have to wait untill I turn 60 in 8 years time and by then there will be many 2nd hand bikes around, win win.
I don't like the entry level Bonneville so much, it just looks wrong to me.
I got the info from a Thai friend who is into bikes.
I guess the dealers get the prices a day before the official announcement so the prices will be leaked quickly.
Tomorrow will tell.

Funny having served in the armed forces for my full time i never knew we had so many deployed to the bars in thailand i understand why the forces are so short all the SF are covering the bars 55555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555
Indeed. There are more SAS in Pattaya than there are on Hereford.

If the Thruxton will be under/approx 500,000,that's about 100,000 more than the UK.they said Thruxton will not be more than 500 K THB so i assume they will reduce the prices a lot.
So, if that is true it means a price reduction of more than 250 K THB!
Hope they decrease the prices 250 k THB for all:)
and that makes Triumph Tiger 800 550 k THB which is nearly the same with BMW GS 800!
Is that still because of higher Taxes here or someone making extra profit, knowing the expensive market here?.
I stopped off at Britbike in Rangsit and was told the price list will be out on 28th November.
Also 450k for the Thruxton - will need to wait until the 28th to be sure.

Well said.
Agreed, but I never understod why those guys paid so much in the first place unless you are swimming in money.Wow, that's quite some news.
Would hate to be one of the guys who just bought one for almost 800k...
Gold can be bought at too high prices and then it's better to just walk away.
I heard that the dealer for Thailand kept those high prices because he wanted Triumph bikes to be a luxery item for the selected few.
Perhaps Triumph UK have pulled the plug on this guy as Ducati did, and just see how well Ducati Thailand are doing now.
Are the Tiger 800 made here?
+1
I looked at the Scrambler but ended up buying a hypermotard because it was a good bike and so much cheaper. In fact it's an expensive machine but the sales price in Thailand is the same as the UK.
Ducati sales are a success story over here and Triumph should get on board and compete.

Thinking of spending a week or two at year end back on Koh Chang.
Never have cycled there but thinking of taking the bikes to spin around this time.
Anyone have experience/comments about cycling on the island...on or off road?
Thanks in advance
It's a nice island to cycle around especially the northern side although you will need to be
fit because some of the hills are quite steep.
Mostly I cycled on road but there were off road stretches that had not yet been concreted.
If Thai woman has a farang hubbie, does she get derided by other Thais?
