I have a 2004 Toyota Vios with 150,000 km on dual fuel, 90% on LPG. It runs fine, no distinguishable difference between petrol or LPG performance and much more economical on LPG. It hasn't given me any problems. I think it may depend on the quality of the system regarding reliability.

You can have less than 6 months validity left on your passport, but your extension (a permit, not a visa) will only be granted up to the expiry date of the passport.
After obtaining a new passport, have the stamps transferred, then apply for a further 1 year extension before your last extension expiry date.
Thank you.

No but your permission to stay will end when your passport does.

No – if you are talking about extension of stay; upon entry you need 6 months – but your extension of stay will not be longer than your passport is valid.
Thank you.

And I answered.
You can apply for any extension and it's "until date" will be same as pp expiry date.
Also if you subsequently obtain new pp that permission of stay will not be altered.
Life time ago I believe that it was.
Not now
Thank you.

A permission of stay is only given to pp expiry.
Provide more details of your situation for more detailed advice.
Are you currently in Thailand.
What type of extension are you asking about etc
Question was, will immigration give a new permission to stay up to passport expiry or do I need to have 6 months prior to expiry?
I'm in Thailand with Non O retirement visa.

Is it necessary to have 6 months of passport validity (before expiry) to get a new permission to stay?
Thanks.

I did one yesterday, approved within an hour.

I've been doing the 90 day reports online and have just recently got another 12 month permission to stay. Does the 90 day period reset from the permission to stay or does it continue with the online reporting date, which is 6 weeks different? Thanks.

On the 24th I registered and then submitted my application and was approved, all within 30 minutes. Everything went very smoothly, I'm happy.

I recieved an email from “wise” yesterday advising me that my account had been blocked until I verified my information…
I forwarded it to wise because to my mind they’ve either been hacked or the scammer got lucky and sent his email to an actual wise customer… I’ve heard crickets back from wise, very disappointed in that…
I received a similar email about a month ago, which I forwarded to Wise. it took them 3-4 days to reply, it is a scam, ignore it, put it in the trash.

For those who may be interested I have found the problem. After tracing wires, opening power points and junction boxes, I discovered a rat attack in an old style fluorescent light that rarely gets used. The insulation was 90% removed from all the wires inside the box. I need a levitating cat, unfortunately mine hasn't quite mastered that ability despite numerous attempts.

Stupid question I suppose... The photo shows the RCBO not tripped. So, it trips instantly when the main breaker is turned on?
Yes.

OK, all MCBs off, remove the link between the RCD N out and the N bar immediately above, this should isolate the RCD completely - still trip? If it does I think you have a defective unit, which bit did you replace??
If it's ok try with earths off and neutrals off connecting one N at a time until it trips.
Dumb question, is the "Test" button stuck??
EDIT Whilst all the neutrals are off the N bar check that it is isolated from the box.
Initially I only replaced the removeable module with the sensitivity selector, now I have changed the whole unit. I am using four circuits (MCB's). With the RCB N disconnected and the original RCB installed all four MCB's are tripping it, with the new RCB the three with the highest loads trip it instantly and the lightly loaded one trips intermittently. N bar is isolated and test buttons are free. (Not a dumb question).

Tripping with all the branch MCBs off?
Look for a N-E fault, damp or bugs in an outlet somewhere possibly.
You could start by disconnecting all the neutrals from your neutral bar (all breakers off) then connect them one at a time until you get a trip. Then investigate that circuit.
If it still trips with all the neutrals isolated then time to start posting photos of the distribution board wiring.
I'm assuming there have been no recent wiring changes of course.
Yes, tripping with all the breakers off, no wiring changes. I disconnected all the neutrals, still tripping, so I disconnected all the earths, (with neutrals connected) still tripping, then disconnected N-E link, still tripping, and tripping instantly. Photo of the boards attached.

Does it trip immediately or after a while? Are there any meters attached (like a watt meter?)
It trips immediately, no meters. Power goes to a circuit breaker with unprotected circuits (pump and hot water-own earths) then to the RCBO circuits. Has been working well for 12 or so years. I tried a new module, same result.

Hello,
My Safe T Cut RCBO just started tripping out even with all circuits switched off. Its normally set at 10mA but at 30mA its the same. All suggestions appreciated. Could a rat attack cause it?

Surprising that they required you to have funds in bank for 2 months?
Did you have proof that the money came from o/s. If not then that would be why you had to obtain 30 day extension.
When do you return to immigration?
I assumed (perhaps foolishly) that if they were not sure of the origin of of the funds from bank book details, they would ask, but they didn't, I did have proof. My extension is till 26/4 and they said to return 20 days before then.

I have been out of the country for 3+ years and went to immigration with 17 days left on my visa exemption to apply for a Non O retirement. I have had 800,000+ in my Thai bank account for a couple of weeks prior to application. They insisted I had to have the money in the bank for 2 months and would not give me a visa, so I had to settle for a 30 day extension, but they indicated they would give me a visa when I return.
-
My understanding of the 30 day extension was that you could apply up to the last day of exempt entry, thanks for clearing it up, and the info regarding the extension and Non O application on the same day and I understand that it's only a maybe.

Have you applied for 30 day extension yet? That can be included in the required 15 days.
So you have to apply for a 30 day extension with 15 days left also? I wasn't aware of that.

Yes you are down to 18 days now so go asap.
Which immigration office.
As usual some offices make their own rules.
Recall (think it was CM) wanting 20 days remaining on permit at some point.

When you entered Thailand on Visa Exempt, did the immigration officer asked for a departure airline flight or were you able to request entry to apply for a Non-O stay?
Immigration have never asked for departure details. Airlines usually do (and I had a throwaway ticket) but not this time as they were too busy combing through the mountain of Covid paperwork. If you come from an acceptable country you don't have to ask for anything you just arrive and you will get 30 days visa exempt entry. Now I will go to Immigration and apply for a Non O visa.

Excellent. You can apply for your non O now. The funds need be in bank on day of application.
How many days remaining on your current visa exempt entry?
19 days
