I bought some of the 3 pin versions on Shopee last August, they were 50 baht each. These are the only decent looking 3 pin plugs I have ever found here all the others look like they are from the 1950's.

Very very sad for her children and family. It is horrendous how these men behave when a relationship ends. Sadly this happened at my local dentist just a mile or so from here. The lady dentist there is so very good, it has sent shock waves through our local community especially so soon after the politician shooting recently that was just down the road.

Don Sai is on my cycle ride every morning, very sad state of affairs. The assailant has now been named by the police. Wife says the victim was his sister-in-law. There has been issues in this Tambon before apparently.

I to have experienced buffering over the last few days I emailed and got the same message as others in this thread about the CDN. I also did the trace info for them. They did email me back this morning to ask me to check if things now work ok and I checked to find that everything is still buffering. It is as many say unusable at the moment and I'm using a VPN and iPlayer etc instead. Its a shame as I do think TVMucho is great when its working, and much easier than having to use multiple players along with their quirks.

There seems very little detail in either of the emails I have received as to how this 'Later' cloud recording app is supposed to work. Will have to see from tomorrow I suppose, if you can't schedule recordings of future programmes it will be useless I fear. A real shame as like most people here I us the catchup 'Guide' to browse programmes from previous days for something to watch. My subscription expires next month, I probably won't renew.

We had the 8 x 4m version of this Intex pool, used it for 5 years before the steel supports finally gave way. It was great to use, we now have a concrete in ground pool which is fantastic but still requires shading like the OP's in the hot season, we use 3 triangular sail shades which keeps the water a nice temperature. My Intex pool came with a sand filter and salt water chlorinator which was easy to use and kept the pool water clear and safe. I still have them if the OP or anyone else is interested as they are no use for a concrete pool. I also have a plastic pool ladder (imported from the States) for above ground pools as the original one it came with was of poor quality. Message me if you want anything.

I had my extension to stay based on Retirement with 800k in the bank renewed last week at Ratchaburi immigration, they have given me a date to return in 3 months with my updated bank book and another letter from my bank. This does not coincide with my 90 day reporting date, luckily for me the office is local.

I can fully appreciate the situation you are in and you have my sympathy, my mother who is now 86 developed Alzheimer's in the UK six years ago and we decided to bring her out here. By the end of last year she had become to difficult for myself and my wife to look after and we found ourselves in a very similar situation as you.
We live in Ratchaburi and we managed to find a couple of care homes local to us, the one we chose is small, there are only 5 residents, but it is well run by a registered nurse. It is light and airy and clean but most importantly the staff are kind and caring. My mum has now been there seven months and her general health has improved. I must admit I did not hold out a lot of hope in finding somewhere suitable when we started looking but I was pleasantly surprised. The costs are very reasonable and easily covered by her pension from the UK.
She requires round the clock care and uses adult nappies and must be fed, all things that we tried to do for her but it became a huge strain on our relationship, since she has been in the home our life has returned to normal and we are still able to visit her every day. I really wish you the best of luck in finding a home for her it will improve your life and that of your mother I suspect.

My son's British passport is due to expire later this year so the fee reduction is good news. However this will be his first adult passport and on the passport office website they ask for proof of address. Has anyone any experience of what document I could use to proof his address here in Thailand, all I can think of is to get an English translation of our house registration document (he has dual nationality), which would mean a trip to Bangkok. If anyone has recent experience of this I would appreciate it.

My mother who is now 85, has been unable to go to immigration for her yearly renewal for the last 2 years. We asked them what we should do and they asked us to bring a letter from the hospital confirming her situation. We told them she was not in hospital but housebound and they said we could bring a letter from her normal local doctor instead.
This we did and the first time it went ok, but the second year they did not like it and said the letter must come from a hospital. After some heated exchanges they finally agreed to extend her retirement visa for another year. What will happen this year when we do it I don't know.
My wife says she will take her in an ambulance along with nurses etc and a Thai TV crew to record the indignity of it. As more people face this situation the Immigration Dept. need to come up with a better solution.

Since the app won't start without a network connection you can only play recordings whilst connected to the net
That's what I found out also, oh well, can't have it all.
Actually, not being able to play recordings when off network (like on a flight) could be seen as a serious issue.
I am using via Parallels on my iMac and it seems to work fine, after downloading I then play the program back and there is a small disc icon in the top left I click on this and it asks me where I would like to save the file. The resultant file is in MPEG format which I can then transfer to another device (like a media player) to use. The only issue is that along with the MPEG file it also creates a lot of smaller files (and I mean a lot) which I then have to bin, not sure what thats all about.

Just a bit of technical info for you - the 'big white block' or 'super blocks' are in fact Autoclaved Aerated Lightweight Concrete Blocks they are made by several manufactures in Thailand and come in a variety of different thicknesses, 75, 100, 125, 150, 200mm but are all 600mm long x 200mm high. If you use them you must also use the correct mortar to lay them and the special render (plaster) to cover them.
We have used them on several build projects and they can help with solar gain as long as they are used with roof/ceiling insulation.

Just returned from a 90 day report at Nakhon Pathom immigration, their normal office at Wat Rai Khing is flooded out and they have relocated temporarily to Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University. This is located on the Malai Man Road (Highway 321) close to Nakhon Pathom city, approx. 4km north of Phet Kasem Road (highway 4). The GPS co-ord's are 13.8372 N 100.0302 E.
The office is located on the ground floor of a building to the left of the main entrance, it is signposted, albeit in Thai, and there is ample car parking. Not sure how long they will be there so if you are due to go then you might want to call them on 0898 980830. Hope that is of help to some of you who usually use this office.

Yes no real flooding here, close to Photharam, only some low lying fields with a few inches of water. Talking to locals there does not seem to be a history of it either.

Another year has passed and it was time this week to go to immigration and extend my Non Imm-O based on marriage to my Thai wife, how exciting I couldn't wait….
For the past four years that we have done this we used Kanchanaburi Immigration office, however we now have a new 'local' office in Nakhom Pathom and so we have to go there this year to renew.
We presented all our paperwork to the lady officer behind the cramped desk, who proceeded to look through it studying each page carefully. When she got to the copy of our marriage certificate she told my wife that it was not correct.
By way of background, we were married in London in the UK, long before we came to Thailand and so when we came here to live we had our British Marriage certificate translated and notarized by the Department of Foreign affairs here in Bangkok. In addition we had a copy of the British certificate notarized by the British embassy. This was then registered at our local Amphur and we were given Kor Lor 22, they also retained the original notarized copies only allowing us to take photo copes away. These three pieces of paper have been accepted by immigration four times without question.
The lady officer informed my wife that a new notarized copy of our marriage certificate and translation would now be required. She went on to say that this was a new order from Bangkok. My wife asked to see this order and was given a typed sheet completely in Thai. After reading the offending paragraph, my wife pointed out that it did not actually say that, only that it had to be notarized and translated and accompanied by the Kor Lor 22.
After more discussion all with my wife as the officer completely ignored me, we got nowhere. Now understandably we were not happy as this would involve multiple trips to Bangkok and much expense. We returned a second time and were seen by another more amenable lady who said she would send our paperwork to Bangkok and see if it was acceptable, however her direct superior sitting behind her immediately quashed that idea.
So we left and my wife called Bangkok Immigration and spoke to someone who suggested we try to get our original notarized paperwork back from the Amphur and present that to immigration. Luckily the Amphur were amenable to our situation and were also able to find the papers and return them to us.
The next day we returned with the documents, but not before my wife had spoken again to a contact in Bangkok and obtained the name of the Head man at Nakhom Pathom. We were shown to his office and after hearing my wife's story and studying the paperwork he then summoned the manager and told her to process our application. However he insisted that the original notarized copy must be sent to Bangkok but that it would be returned to us once the application was processed.
So after more scrutiny the paperwork was processed along with additional items like family photos and maps to our home that we have not provided for four years. It seems that all the information that had been accumulated by Kanchanaburi was not transferred to Nakhom Pathom so they are basically starting again from scratch.
Sorry for the long post but if you have made it this far I would be interested to know of others experience not just with Nakhom Pathom but also extending their Non Imm O using a notarized foreign Marriage certificate. My wife is extremely annoyed by this and feels like she is being treated like a second class citizen.

I cancelled my subscription last year (after 3 years) after the loss of BBC entertainment and they took the equipment away on the first day of the month I then received a full refund of the deposit by cheque a month later.
However they took an extra months subscription from my bank account after they had taken the stuff away, they argued about the exact date I had cancelled and only refunded part of the subscription charge. After more phone calls by myself and my wife they finally refunded the rest but in all it took about 3 months to get all the money back they owed me, never again.

We already have more than enough pigeons here in Ratchaburi thank you, I have spent considerable time keeping them out of my gutters etc they are a complete nuisance.

My experience with 3BB since they took over TT&T has not been great. For some obscure reason on the first day of each month I loose my connection in the early hours and get a screen in my browser telling me my username & password is incorrect. Each month my wife calls them and they do something their end and I'm off again for another month. Madness.

Yes I use the CAT card, great value and easy to use and good quality line to. My wife uses DTAC to call the states and its 4 baht a min but to the UK its much higher so we no longer use it and use CAT instead.

This snake came to our door yesterday, our dog went crazy which alerted me and I snapped these pictures. Anyone any idea what it is, I looked through the pictures on the Snakes of Thailand website but can't see a match. After taking the dog away the snake went off into the garden. Thanks for any suggestions.
Ratchaburi has a new immigration office
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Couldn't find any other posts about this but the immigration office dealing with residents of Ratchaburi has moved from Bus Station 2 on highway 3208 to a new purpose built office close to Wat Nong Hoi (GPS 13.616498499100986, 99.7689179772711) a turning off highway 3291. As yet there are very few sign posts and those there are are only in Thai. It is a relatively out of the way location but for those who have visited Wat Nong Hoi the road to the immigration office is immediately to the left of the temple entrance, continue down this road a short distance then take the first right and the office, a five storey office building, is on the right. Wat Nong Hoi is visible from some distance away as it sits on top of a wooded hill and is a very large structure. Google maps has been updated to show the immigration office. Hope this helps someone.
