  1. ...Riding bang na via kanchanapisek from srinakarin rama9 almost everyday since few years,it takes me 8mn to reach my factory , by normal roads it takes 25mn! I've been caught 2/3 times... cost me 20baht then 2nd time a businesscard ,3rd time cop was upset ( same bib on his large white Honda FJR)... Wanted to drag me at the station , 500 on spot ...

    Much safer ,faster .

  2. Hi

I am the founder of the biggest bikes rental shop in BKK,we run a fleet of more than 30 bikes, more than half are big bikes over 500cc maximum 2 years old.

More than 10 of my scooters are actually rented in BKK with expats, teachers, asians, indians ,cheap charlies, few tourists ,so far since 2009 ,with my partner we have declared very fews incidents with these small bikes in BKK.

Most issues are lost keys even the bike sometimes, few scratches.I do make money to propose a good service and assistance ,not rip off riders.

In the past and still when i am in holidays i rent a vehicule, when i've got issues i was never overcharged ,this is a matter for the guy who acting like a colon on stranger field with locals.

Most of the accidents involve our big bikes and happened outskirt Bangkok, rarely my fellow riders are wrong.

The last one was last week a couple of thais rented to Versys 650cc.They were apparently racing along phetkasem road in Hua Hin when a large SUV point is nose to U-turn then hit 1 of my bike ,the riders was ejected, lost his helmet, the bike is wrecked...

The guy was transferred a couple of days to an hospital in Bkk,he was badly injured but seems to get better now.

SUV's insurance is responsible to pay me a new bike and hospital expenses for my costumer,my insurance and lawyer are taking care of the case.

Its a question of managing and relationship to run this business here once you get a fair amount of good bikes ,an honest and competent lawyer, proper insurances,an high back up relationship in case of troubles,a fair but strong business policy for your costumers ,then a well targeted market and you will be able to make something serious.

Hot places? For the khao san rental shop scheme between beers, insecticide cocktails bars , an hashish/rocks sales man ,to rent motosai to backpackers ...Dead trap.

From my experience of riding small, large or sport bikes in and outside BKK on motorway,tunnels,bridges... for more than 7 years ,+1 with my rental business since 3 years i can say that it's safer to ride in BKK or say accidents in BKK occure less injuries than anywhere else in LOS.

Most of BKK drivers and riders are aware of the potential danger here, psychologically it help to canalise a good "behaving on roads",of course the stupid dranker or grandpa on his 2 strokes rocket has no idea of what i am talking about, the Bangkokian who got an 8 years finance on his back for his brandnew Toyota understand very well .

We say in French "un home avertit en vaut 2"

The gain of times and independance that procure a 2 wheeler is so high that there is noway for me to considere any else kind of transportation in Bkk.

  3. Franck. The Cbr would be a nice bike. relatively cheap but still capable of light touring and an easy bike in BKK traffic..

Just a note to you. In Pattaya these can be rented for about 500b a day.

Sumet Cycle sell the ABS one for 130,000b but that does include 1st class insurance and all on road costs (including helmet, jacket).

    Yeap thanks CB,

I can't offer "Pattaya's rates" but i will not charge triple for issues or send you a coppy or steal own my bike. AAA (just a bad joke we all found great bikes to rides in Pat ',i remember the time i rented bikes from them then brought it to service before to ride).

I'm investing money in tires, fluids,maintenance,insurance,market....Usual stuffs to keep bikes in great shape to provide a valuable service .

Bikes are parts of BBR assets ,my own interest to maintain them in good conditions.

Heard only good things about Sumet Cycles, his 1st class insurance pol. will not work with BBR and the others as well aswe are using bikes on commercial (rental) purposes.BTW beware of these few foreigns "bonirenteurs" in north or south who propose 1st class coverage, most aren't aware that Falcon,Siam,Veerhaya policies are not applicable on these purpose,it can bring you far ...or deep (Local just doesn't care about that,to make you pay the full price is the real biz.,so they will not insured their bikes ).

Ok Thaicbr :o) !! AAA.How long you would rent a brand new CBR,3rd party cover up to 5M Bahts by an int' insurance carrier !?!

I've got an amazing CB1300cc avail. as well .

    Stay safe.

    Franck

  4. We are still here to propose our services ,check details on our webpage!

    Cheers

And a lot of us are still waiting for you to get 250cc road bikes available for rent (not d-trackers)

    Tx Thaicbr,

This 250cc Ninja is not a popular BBR's request,i've got one, a friend keep it on long term rent. basis, when i have a rider who need it i kindly ;-) ask my fellow friend to switch with a bigger bike from our fleet...Believe me his b@tt is ninjette shaped.

By the way i'm thinking to get a couple of CBR 250, -30k Bahts on tag its help.
