1. Indeed the kudos that would arise from facing the truth and its consequences would ensure a landslide victory for Thaksin and any political party as he may be involved with.

Those politicians in the party that Thaksin was involved with wouldn't just have their hands inthe pork barrel they would be totally immersed in the pork barrel.jap.gif

However the massive ego that Thaksin has will not allow him to face the truth in any way shape or form.

"Former Thai prime minister and persecuted political refugee Thaksin Shinawatra today demonstrated his selfless love for the Thai people by surrendering to the Thai authorities.

Dream on Thaksin, dream on Thailand.

Thaksin the man, (I use the word man a gender identification rather than as a statement regarding his status) could never ever face reality if it stood in front of him stark naked and punched him on the nose.

I agree with you my friend but Thaksin is not of that caliber to do such an honorable thing, he has already caused the death of SO MANY of his Paid followers, how much is each death worth, they will never see the outcome of what they died for.bah.gifbah.gifbah.gifbah.gif

  2. I'm glad that they are arresting some of this paedophiles but it pains me to realize that most of them are still allowed to engage in their perversion in Thailand. One that comes to mind is Perry McNeely, former President of the Pattaya Sports Club. This individual was arrested for sex crimes in America, spent a year in prision in The Philippians on charges of molesting underage girls and then was deported as an undesireable. He ended up in Thailand as was arrested again in the Philippians this past December for engaging in sex with a minor. As in the past , he was able to miraculously able to escape prosecution from these charges and is back in Thailand. This is a good example of how money, and the ability to pay off the authorities, will allow you to do whatever you want in Thailand.

I heard that U.S Embassy officials in Thailand and The Philippians want to extradite McNeely to face charges in the U.S., but I doubt that this will happen.

I would be interested to know if the U.S. Embassy has made any attempt to extradite McNeely, the last I heard he was back in Thailand living in Pattaya.

Wow. You got a valid point there friend. I googled that name and the deck is stacked against that perpetrator. Amazing!

A very valid point indeed, I just hope that they all get what they deserve including any middle persons involved in Procuring the children.angry.gif

  3. If Farang wants to come to Thailand, they should contribute to the local economy too.

Next time, they bring their own van, to visit their own bars, and drink their own beers, and perhaps even import their own girls (from the Philippines).

And 2,000 baht for a short ride in an old battered pickup truck is ok, in your opinion?

I personally agree with most of what's been posted by you guys but, Rucharee please read the report at the top of this page, Phuket and Thailand make big business from resupplying US war ships.

The US Navy should go back to R&R'ing in Pattaya where they will be treated better and gat away from the obnoxious Mafia Taxi/Tuk tuk drivers. I live in Phuket, always have for past 13 years and love it but

I wish we had the same system for taxis as they do in Pattaya, The Baht bus, dirt cheap but always busy, Tuk Tuks ? Well, how many hundreds of them do we see with no punters here all over Phuket but they are a joke in Patong, you can't find a parking space and they are double/treble parked ????

Rucharee, how would you feel about paying a "minimum" 2,000 Baht, that's only the Minimum ?wink.gif

  4. Various Agencies to Meet on Thaksin Extradition

BANGKOK: -- Representatives from the Department of Special Investigation, the Ministry of Forieng Affairs, and the Attoney General's Office will meet 2 P.M. today to discuss how to extradite Thaksin Shinawatra back to Thailand to face various charges. What they and all the people of Thailand need to remember about Thaksin is that HE and HE ALONE is responsible for ALL those that DIED because of him, the families of the souls that died will surely NOT back a criminal after they have lost their loved ones because of Him.

When people started dying on the streets, why didn't he call off the protest,I tell you why, Thaksin don't give a flying hoot about his followers being killed on the streets of BKK.

Mr Thaksin, you have blood on your hands,Your fellow Thai people. :):D :D :D

  5. I am happy those leaders came to their senses and did the right thing, both for their own followers and the other people of Thailand. I hope they get a fair trial and sentence.

My friend, they did not come to their senses at all, what planet are you on sir? They had no choice in the end, they were F*****D, if they had come to their senses before anyone got killed, then that WOULD have been their salvation, now, they are marked for life and who of them (including Thaksin) will stand up and admit that THEY GOT PEOPLE KILLED , NONE.

It's a lot easier to do the ostrich thing-----just show me a pile of sand lol

    :):D :D

  6. nice idea!

Greg is good, but could be even better if there was a bit less acting.

But anyway, good initiative and I hope you will keep it up.

Possible topics for the future could include:

    - how to stop a cab

    - how to use a bath bus

    - how to negociate with a thai and reach an agreement where all are happy

    - how to use BTS/MRT

    - how to buy and use a thai prepaid SIM card and which type is convenient for short time visitors

    - basic do's and don't do's

    - etc.

hahaha All your friends who come here will want to know what a BATH bus is, bloody hel_l they will say have a bath during the trip from Soi 6 to Soi 13/4 and have a beer in Classroom One with my friends.

    :D :D :)

  7. Good! You can't negotiate with anarchist criminals who have been shown remarkable tolerance thus far. Their criminal mob have held the Country to ransom for long enough and their concern for human life is hypocritically one sided stemming only from the desire of their leaders to get an amnesty so they can go off and spend Thaksin's millions.

I'm a bit late but HERE<HERE<HERE 'Steely Dan', you got it in one mate.

THAKSIN IS TOTALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THE DEATHS AND INJURIES AND TURMOIL IN THE HEART OF BKK.

How many people are now hurting because a father,Mother siblings, rest of Family and Friends have lost that loved one because of THAKSIN ???????? :):D:D

  8. Thailand IS the home of many expats. Xenophobia is UGLY.

Yes, when Farangs USA think they can tell to Thai people GO HOME than is that xenophobe and ugly. But it t would be better for all if these farangs who are full of hate GO HOME. Nobody likes you here.

I'm a farang and I totally agree with you, if any farang has hate in his heart, he/she don't belong here, they are not wanted and only get the rest of us tarred with the same brush.

    Fine them before deportation

Yeah and I'm English by the way. :)

  9. :) Please can someone tell me as an Englishman married to a Thai National, what are the rquirements regarding registering our marriage with the Immigration in Phuket and do I require 8 or 4,000Baht on application. We were married in the Amphur Office in Kathu.

    Thank You in advance

    YP :D

  10. hi all, is there anyone out there that has achieved a solution to the additional pension/allowance, and how did it go for you?? thanks and regards egg6447

Hi I am back to report my success in my application for my wifes allowance which is another 52.30 pound a month , it was backdated to my pensionable start date of 3 March 2008, i have also had arrears paid backdated to that date.

From my experience i would like to share the following:

Phone them in the first instance to request app form for additional pension for your wife , if your wife has a UK National Insurance Number everything will be done quickly , but if you are like me and your wife doesnt work and doesnt have a National Insurance number when you send in your application you will also need to send in the following original documents , Marriage certificate, wifes birth certificate and any divorce cert she may have had previously , they may not ask for all in the first instance but they will ask later and if you send everything in at the beginning it may turn out quicker for you , they will have them translated by their translator . after 4 weeks badger them on the phone and send emails , it helped in my experienced, hope this will help someone , my application took 8 months . when you send your application and docs send them EMS everything is quick and registered and you can track it on line with Thai post

    Dave

Dave, I sent my form back to the uk Months ago, the PO wanted 900 Baht to send by EMS and 90 Baht for normal post,I opted for normal, that was many months ago and the pensions office say that they have not received it, I had to get another form and sent it back by courier to make sure this time. :):D

  11. a little more than 3 months, as proposed by the protesters

What solutions were the protestors offering for all Thais, or any Thais for that matter?

They were offering nothing to anyone. Am I going crazy, but surely its nearer to 6 months not 3???

This will be well accepted by the world media and seen badly if rejected by the reds.

    Cheer, Rick

It was 6 months when I went to school :):D :D

  12. Many of the Reds come from Thailand's rural poor and urban working classes and seek the return of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who was ousted in a 2006 coup and now lives overseas to avoid a jail term for corruption.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think you are forgetting the large proportion of violent criminals -

I think they also miss that a large amount of people using that hospital come form the poor urban working class

:) Of course they are from the urban working class, they are the only ones that Thaksin can pay for their votes and to pay them to travel to Bkk, we saw it all on the media,so why do they try to deny it ????

Mr Thaksin, you are solely responsible for at least 27 of your nationals """DEAD""" WHAT IS YOUR ANSWER TO THAT ????????????? :D :D :D

  13. :)

NEAR RIOT ! now there's a buzz word for you.

Maybe the Thai's could learn something from 'our' 'near riot' !

joking aside the European press has never been kind to Asia, something about spending our Euro's outside of Europe, me thinks.

I personally have two very friends 'stranded' here, one's gone to Samui to, and i quote 'get out of Thailand' ! and the other is swimming in his pool drinking gin and tonic.

Both have businesses in London and they need to be back there, but they both said 'no planes, what can we do?'

Just a small point of order, If you are in Samui, you are still in Thailand or is my memory gone altogether!?????? :D :D :D

  14. When it all explodes, the foreigners wandering around like morons will get injured, and then start bleating about how their embassies won't take care of them and pay the hospital bills that their insurance companies won't cover because of civil unrest. If anyone lacks common sense they deserve what's coming.

I think you mean they will make very awkward witnesses to your cause.

How dare they get in the middle and disprove all the propaganda like that, how dare they. They are disproving the case of the CRES with every photo they take, every comment they make.

So, what do you yellows think now CRES is running the show? Is it all you wanted it to be that a man who should have been banned years ago, brought down his own PM (last time) got banned again for what I can see was much worse than what Samaak did but didn't go, got fired last week my Abhisit and still calls the shots from his bunker with his Elite Army Corps round him.

Nice guy and am sure you will get the Democrats elected in double quick time with him at the helm. Mind you, its getting nasty now on TV .. Al Jazeera gave the PAD a real hiding on a 40 minute special this morning. LM charges in the pipeline.... you bet. Even some of the English Language program Thai presenters were against them.

Grandpops, while I agree with you about the Morons wandering around and getting what they deserve cos' they shouldn't be there, I see from your posts, that you both are Red Supporters,Well I don't care Red or yellow,I'm a Farang and keeping my nose out where it don't belong. Both of you are rambling on about the situation when you should really keep your traps shut tight unless you are a THAI national. :)

  15. those tourists were taken by surprise what happened to them - the old town is for the genuine tourists the most interesting part of bangkok and many would like to stay as close to it as possible.

for the last month it was a peaceful area, yestarday events shocked everyone, thai and foreigners.

bullets and tear gas can be fired from far away (those fired in air as well can injure and kill), they can land in a seemingly "peaceful" street or inside hotel room

First of all, any farange's who are stupid enough to stick their nose in the THAI protesters business deserve whatever happens to them and the worst word that you can use here in Thailand is the word <deleted> because almost all none English speaking Thai's understand that word and take offense to it.

Secondly for you Londonthai, A rubber bullet has little muzzle velocity and cannot be used over long range, It's very unlikely to have the ability to KILL someone.

Thirdly, It's very unlikely that a round of ammunition fired into the air will fall to earth and KILL someone.

Get real Son and get facts :):D :D

  16. :D

i hope this is only in Pattaya cause of coarse 70% of people that drink are foreginers because it is a forang city. i wonder how many per cent are drinkers in Undo thani.

anyway the people i see get the mmost drunk are thais. starting to really get the feeling that forang are not wanted anymore

Yes I agree, the Thais themselves get totally inebriated and become a nuisance and so too, many of the tourists! To this I agree but now what about we, the peace loving expats who enjoy a drink and celebration without going over the top ?????

I wonder what the ratio is between Expats and Tourists on average ? I bet we expats out number the tourists by many and the one's always in trouble ARE= ?????????????????

and then I wonder the percentage of Thai Drunks.

MY QUESTION IS-: Ref the 20% rise, Why do the majority have to pay for the STUPIDITY of FOOLS :):D :D

  17. "Foreigners should know Thai culture strictly forbids nakedness and nudeness and respect should be the order.”

euh... this is THE land of prostitution of the planet earth

but nakedness and nudeness is forbidden...

PLEASE stop all the GO GO bars and prostitution parlours or stop your hypocrisy

Thaibkk, I'm a farang and have no rights in this country but as I can voice my thoughts on here, I would like to say that hypocrisy is abound and no one lesser than yourself, I'm happy to say that I'm NOT german, if I was, I would hang my head in shame at the antics of the STUPID and Disrespectful actions of the naked demonstrators. It's against ALL Thai Culture, they deserve a spell in the BKK Hilton as far as I'm concerned. :)

  18. Hardly news - if you take blood from a large random number of people then this result is inevitable. Good scaremongering tactics from the government but that is about it - any intelligent person knows that blood carries risk

    You are absolutely right!

I agree; it's nothing but stupid scaremongering and dumb sensationalism. No one will contract the HIV virus from this blood - the chances are really negligable. Have you seen someone with deep, bleeding cuts taking a bath in the fresh blood?

It's right, some HIV tests could be done quickly - but these tests would not necessarily show that there is actual HIV virus in the blood - these tests would just show that there are antibodies against the HIV virus. Once you were infected with the virus but you bring your virus load down to undetectable you will still have HIV antibodies...

Other blood tests might take much longer.

This is not directed at you but to the guy you quoted and answered (TallForigner) who is blind to the fact, along with many others, you all saw it on the Media, the red's giving blood for the Media Camera's, how many people do you think really gave blood to get ALL those 25Litre plastic bottles of" HUMAN" ? Blood. They even said that Animals blood ( pigs and Cows ) was found to be present.

The whole exercise at convincing all the people that it was Human Blood was nothing more than a mindless exercise in the minds of the Educated, but in the minds of the poorly or non educated, they have to believe because they don't know anything about the dangers involved in messing with Blood.

I feel Sympathy for the Red shirt brigade followers, for they know not what they do and what's happening to their farm lands while they are so far away from home ?????? :):D

  19. d

So what happens when the army decides not to back down in a particular situation?

Eventually, there is going to be violence.

And the reds will come up with some lame propaganda to say that it was Abhisit's fault.

It is terribly sad, as Abhisit has been the most outspoken 'no violence' person so far, his comment when he heard of the blood-buckets idea was "I worry about their health, withdrawing blood in a medically unsafe way".

I just hope people remember this quiet, humble man and his words during this sad affair.

Do you really beleive that the blood was from all the protesters ???? They took a small amount of blood from several volunteers just for the media cameras and then down to the slaughter house to get 25 litre bottles of PIG BLOOD, they hoodwinked the lot of you. :D:D:D:)

  20. I wonder how much money Thaksin is throwing Montenegro's way...it is after all a potless former communist country.

What is not mine, no one will get it!

Can't people see Thailand is destroying from now on? BIllions of billions he has now still not enough for his egos. Some millions buying The Red shirt leader. The protesters baths 2000 x 100,000 persons = 2 millions baths. Those millions is the price of the immage '' Siam Land of smile ''. Tourism stop, draw the whole Thai economic down. Let' Apisit do his jobb !!.

    Hi Somebody.

Clearly English is not your first language, but you have made your point.

Let' Apisit do his job !!. Exactly what the country needs to happen.

I don't think English is your first language BUT you got your point over and i agree with your post. :)

  21. Shame That they seem intent to try and drive a bigger wedge between the classes here. Instead of Montenegro, Mr Thaksin should have took an easyjet flight to European ski resort, as it seems he's on a slippery slope.

Yes my friend, on a slippery slope with a pair of roller blades on. As for the red shirts spraying their own blood on the front of the official building, a load of BULL****, they took blood from a very few for the Media coverage and than collected PIGS Blood in 25 litre bottles to pour on the doorstep of the PM.

Do they realise or even care how much they are damaging the Thai economy. Wake up the reds, how much went into your pockets to alleviate your poor living conditions in the north, Do you think Mr T will put money in your pockets if he was to be reinstated( which can't happen )Nothing will be yours to improve your quality of life and living.

I'm married to a Girl from the North East and have just spent a month near Sakhon Nakon so I do understand how poor you are, If Mr T was to Offer to Pay each household 100,000Baht to improve living standards, he may stand a chance, but it's not going to happen. NEVER!. :)

  22. Despite how vigorous the pro-Thaksin supporters claim no money is changing hands for the supporters, we in the capital don't have to go far to hear from people that have been offered cash to attend - the maid of my last workplace for one.

Turnout directly equates cash. Thaksin is going for it this time.

For sure, so lets hope he REALLY is going for broke this time, and that he REALLY goes broke. Hope springs eternal. However, I fear this is more like one of those zombie horror movies where you keep thinking the monster is finished, but he keeps coming alive for more ...

You don't have to live in the capital to know what's going on, it was on the Thai news, reds giving 2,000 baht per person, this was in Nakhon Panom two days ago, they told the people that if they did not go to Bkk, they must give the cash back hahahahahaha, that'll happen, like hel_l it will.

C'mon Khun Thaksin, go for broke for real and see how it feels to be one of your misled or bribed supporters from the North." FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO " OOOOOOOOOOPS, Dn't know where that came from LOLOLOL :):D :D :D
