  1. Could it be , I don't want to sell my stuff at the current price , so I'll hold it back until I can get more $$$$ for it , scenario ??
  2. I spend about 2 days a week on highway 1 and 11. The skill level of drivers is never disappointing.
  3. Careless Driving, 4 cases ? I have experienced more than that in 2 hours on the highway today... Check stops allowing free flow to avoid congestion is one thought of lack of incidents. Dang , the river road has check points every 2 kilometers, b7 none on the major roads . Interesting..
  4. I drove about 8 hours on the Northern #1 & #11 on the 31st & 1st. I do this weekly . Traffic speed was Quite a bit Faster compared to normal drives. Big City license plates and red plates or no plates were in the lead. Congestion was high. I was astounded to see no accidents or enforcement.. Noted irradic, maybe inebriated or phone use technics , but they kept their vehicles on the road, just cutting off other drivers. I made the trip safely, and noted , a if enforcement was present , they would be so busy with offenses, Not including Speeding, that 95% of violations would pass by any vehicles stopped for offenses. Luckily, there were no official presence noted. DRIVE ON..
  5. Oil Slick ?? Ok That's a new one. I drive that route a lot , never seen an oil slick, was through there last night at 17:00 , raining then, slow down. I have encountered busses being driven by by incompetent drivers constantly though.
  6. Burmese refugees , in need of $$$$ aide , many speak Thai as well as other languages , and are already here , wanting out of refugee camps to work. A better solution maybe ? I just don't see the reasoning behind Sri Lankan versus Burmese .
  7. Interesting, I wonder if multiple insured buildings were destroyed, the insurance would need to pay them all ? Just an observation. Like NOT an act of God, but really an act of Oden , a lesser diety ?
  8. The passports were already stamped as leaving , One could go thru arrivals again , stamp as arrival , go to hotel, return and go thru immigration again for the departure stamp. Or , leave the passport with the airline / customs
  9. When a monopoly in their favor created a mono-boring shopping experience across all the KP shops , it was good for business. Now this move isn't about what is being said , really, it's about a new business plan in which KP or a subsidiary will make out like bandits. Or as I like to say , Let the games begin ..
  10. The more $$$ spent on ,, So called Improvements ,,, the more the place looks like a cement jungle.. So many beloved little hideaway and markets that made thail so uniq and attractive in the past are now just concrete retail boxes with no character left. Of course, more CCTV , police , cement , neon and signage ARE NEEDED... Please , just repair the sidewalks , that's enough.
  11. 500,000,000 well spent , since the laws that have been passed will most likely not be revoked. Just need to get away with it long enough to get the sketchy stuff dine
  12. I know they are fakes. $30 for a fake LV handbag , valued at $3,800 . I love it. I am never going to buy the original, but the fakes do have their own appeal that draw me to them. I see no harm in them. In other countries, companies are responsible for policing sellers of their brands and using the legal system to deal with it. In LOS , the police do the job for them. Strange .
  13. Amazing Drivers impacting parked Trucks. Between that or ending up in a Water Feature , It seems a daily multiple occurrence.. Many, here in Chiang Mai drive on the shoulder of the highway, at about 25% of the speed limit. Not fast enough to do a lot of damage , so I don't believe that was the cause. Hmmm. A Honda City capable of 180. I'm sort of bewildered and impressed at the same time. What the driver was doing sounds self inflicted to me.
  14. The only teachers I have found to help me add to my Thai skills all carry foreign passports. I found the Thai courses given by Thais very regimented and focused on topics, week by week , such as police one week , hospitals the next I found basic communication skills , followed by 3 years of learning Nouns and the Verbs was helpful. Schools didn't focus or were willing to help with the areas of the language I wanted to learn. PS books were useless ( before the internet days ) Now we have apps that are somewhat useful , but often incorrect.
  15. Live in same area, the NOISE and disturbance has been going on for weeks. Signs blocking line of vision at intersections causing driving hazards and, loud speakers playing distorted music every couple of hours through the day . Enough. I can understand why he did this. A bit extreme, but I hope it sends a message to campaigners . QUIETLY PLEASE .
  16. We personally have no nestle products in our home and refuse them in restaurants. In Canada, nestle is a blight on the bottled water trade , taking all and leaving none for some locals. Banning them is a good move. for any reason .
  17. " something that has previously been a challenge, as seen with the mishandled cannabis legalization in 2022. " I thought the legalization of cannabis was done perfectly until it was Legislated to death. I guess to many players watered down the Get Rich fantasies of the fat cats who wanted a big slice of that pie.
  18. It would be nice if elected officials supported their Constituents and not the Party Line. I thought that was how government iwas supposed to operate.
  19. The economic side may be , that the foreigners will avoid these attractions. Still , many will still visit and Pay the higher price. Advantage is the higher income with less people to deal with. Same as oranges , tiny season cuts crop in half , so triple the price of oranges to make it a profitable year. Basic marketing 101.
  20. Maybe short instructional driving commercials on TV, Showing proper road courtesy may help. Simple attempts to help drivers understand and improve driving skills. Slow drivers in the fast lane , refusing to give way is a constant issue I see. It's bedlam on the roads with so many drivers apparently unaware of common courtesy. I liken driving to playing a video game. Amazing Thailand..
