  1. He said: "I was arrested on a Friday getting my flight to Britain. Thai immigration officials said they were suspicious of my passport. When they checked with the embassy an official told them my passport number did not exist.

"When I spoke to the embassy official he must have known I was British. I told them the passport was legal.

"He said it did not exist. I begged him to double check. But he refused because the embassy closed at Friday midday for their long weekend. They said they would prioritise the matter the following week, so I was sent to jail. But officials had all day in London to check me out. I cannot believe they could not have done it."

    Thank you for that.

It seems like almost 500 posts put the blame on Thailand Immigration, but were wrong.

  2. hello [flame removed]

    [flame removed] even

What does this [flame removed] mean?

A moderator edited his post as he cannot be polite or correct in them. And often goes into open insults. So the very clear insult was this time removed.

    Thank you.

I found that mentioned in the forum rules and wasn't sure about it.

So that means this member is suspended now?

I did have a look at that person's other posts and he seems to do that a lot. I see that tiny moderator subscript text in his posts that say what he did wrong.

  3. It would appear that he swore at the immigration official, criticised Thailand & snatched his passport back, so on that basis he got what he deserved; if he does receive a prison sentence, he has only himself to blame - end of discussion. I'd just add that I've no sympathy for him whatsoever.

Yes I have to agree with you... I think most people understand that the Thai culture revolves around respect. A simple smile smile and a bow will get you a long way in thailand. Some of these arrogant tourists should learn a little about other cultures before travelling...

Have to agree with you too. I saw a video clip of a middle aged mainland Chinese woman who missed her plane in Hong Kong, I believe. She was screaming and rolling around on the floor of the airport. She had physically abused one or more of the airport staff and called them every name under the sun.

I look forward to seeing your translation of her words from Chinese.

    Thank you.

  4. Erroneous headline and story. The arrest had nothing to do with lese majeste and the Computer Act contains no clause referencing lese majeste in the first place.

    No, you are wrong.

Lese majeste refers to insulting the monarchy, not 'Offence against the Kingdom's security.' The charge was not lese majeste.

Thank you for clearing that up.

It certainly doesn't help when erroneous articles and then erroneous posts are made.
