PS. I almost forgot to give the doctor's number at the hospital in case Brent's phone is switched off while he's in there - it's (0066) 32417070. Or she may be the Administrator of the hospital, I'm not sure. But she definitely knows about Brent's operation - she was really worried he would die if he didn't have the operation in the next day or so. She's very nice. As I say, if it is possible for you to forward this message to any SGI members in Phet'buri or Cha Am. Brent lives in Cha Am on his own and really needs some support. Thanks again. Debra

There's a special chapter for foreigers living and visiting Thailand called the Rainbow Group, who meet monthly at the SGT Centre on Wittayoo Road, Bangkok. They have a discussion meeting for members and those interested this coming Saturday afternoon , 9th December. If anyone wishes a contact number in Thailand for further information then please feel free to PM me. But before Saturday afternoon (UK time) for details of the meeting specifically, as I'm flying out to the LOS myself on the same date. Otherwise, I'll respond to any other enquiries as when I'm able to next week.

Post Script

With the greatest of respect.

The information given above is incorrect. The size of SGT, as of the last time I enquired, was some 15,000 members. This is born out by them having three very large centres in Bangkok and others elsewhere. I went to an SGT special meeting on Chinese New Year two years ago , which was attended by around 600 Bangkok based members at only Wittayoo. I would estimate that SGT must have more members than the 200 stated in Phet'buri, Cha-Am and Hua Hin districts alone.
BANGKOK
SOKA GAKKAI THAILAND
Group size: 200
Contact person: Patoomporn Limrossukon
Email: [email protected]
Website: www.sgt.or.thHi Chutai, (nice name!)
You mentioned SGI in Phet'buri and Cha-Am in your post. I'm a member of SGI in London but I have a friend who was taken into Phet'buri hospital (I think) today - 16th Feb 2009 - with acute appendicitus and he's very, very ill. He is pretty much alone in Thailand and a bit frightened right now. His name's Brent Dawson. He doesn't chant himself - or only very occasionally - but he knows all about it as he used to live with me for six years and does believe it works (he saw how it worked in my life), he just can't quite believe it would work for him. Do you know of any members in Phet'buri who would chant for his health and recovery? I don't know whether they would be able to contact him or visit him in the hospital??? Or leave a text on his phone (in English)??? His number is (0066) 806547826 or the doctor there is Dr Marisat (?) Kriangsak (?) - sorry I have no idea how to spell Thai names but that's what her name sounded like. Thank you. Debra

Hi Ave,
Really sorry I did not reply to you. Yes, Brent did make a full recovery from the appendicitus but, unfortunately, other health problems arose in February 2010 and he is terminally ill now. I am going to visit him for a week between 28 May to 5 June 2011 - in Cha am (I live in the UK). I would love to meet up with any SGI member in the Cha am area to chant. If any read this post, please send a text to my mobile number (I can't read Thai but I will get someone to read it to me if necessary) - 00447832240309. Thank you. Debra
