  1. Now waiting for the "Al Gore lied" conspiracy theorists.

Why are you waiting for them? Oh! you think this post proved him right or something? He is bending over backwards to enact a worldwide carbon tax. We are carbon based life forms...you would have to pay to breath you dumbass. Trying searching youtube for H.A.A.R.P. and learn something instead of trying to discredit others out of fear 40 year old virgin! hahaha

  2. Hey everyone,

  3. If you just use normal font it will help us. And what is your wife's status? Thai? That is critical for any information. One very important item is that you must have a work permit to do any work here so be very careful on that point.

Yes. She is a Thai citizen. It is common sense that you need a work visa in order to work. My point is many places will help you get a work visa. Actually you need them to apply for you if I am not mistaken.

  4. Hello,

I am here with no visa. When I got to the airport(baltimore intl) I was almost denied my boarding pass for not having a visa. I get here and am informed that I need a visa to stay. I have went for a couple of interviews which I believe will yield a visa, although have not yet. I need to know all available options in terms of visas.

A little bit about my situation. I am an American citizen here with my wife who is pregnant and expecting to deliver around october. I plan to go back to college in the not to distant future but for the time being I need to work(because the mrs. is not able to at all). I am not totally sure if the jobs I interviewed for will help me get a visa or not, or wether they actually intend on hiring me.

I have read a bit about the ED visa, visa runs, spouse visa, etc. but am not to sure of how to go about appyling. Please!! PLEASE!!! help me. All info on this topic would be very much appreciated.

  5. I often ask myself one question about graffiti (but get to that later)

As you all know, all over the world mostly big cities you find graffiti on anything, busses, trains, houses,

walls and so on. I have been to Thailand many times and now live here and I have not seen a lot of it

apart from graffiti on old buildings which were to be demolished anyway.

My question to you is what would happen to some one (if cought) who paints graffiti on a temple

or any religious buildings. I ask my wife and she said no one would ever do that, fair enough but if

some one would is there any laws or penalties? Would they send that person to jail or even a dead

penalty? Any body can come up with an answer?

    Cheers

If the police caught you writing on a temple they might kick your ass, especially if they are the religion of that temple hahaha. Beside temples and places of worship, any wall in Bkk is fair game. Chances are when police see you painting they will pay it no mind. If you want my advice a powerful and bold move would be to paint right outside a police station. And I forgot landmarks like the elephant building people might not liketo be painted on. But parking structures are good(goto the top and tag the outside wall). Also some store vendors might not appreciate you writing on their place of business. As for not seing much graffiti, you just need to get around more, there is tonzzz..

  6. Funny thing is there is alot of proof pointing to the government being behind 9/11. How the <deleted> can one of(if not the MOST) powerful country in the world let some no name lowlevel terrorists bomb such iconic and quintessential buildings such as the twin towers w/o even a single one of those planes being shot down by our powerful and supreme military!??? Simply impossible. It was just a prerequisite to the Patriot act which is a prerequisite to further rights being systematically taken away and then NWO time. But what do I know. :)

Whatever your on ,I would definately get your prescription changed. :D

Whatever i'm "on" you should try some. It might help with that severe case of naive ignorance you have.

  7. I brought mine over from the states. Worked fine until I started having RRoD probs. I bought a 220w-110w step-down converter, but you'd prolly be better off with a 220w compatable ps. xboxLive worked no prob for me (there's no localized service) and should work as long as your IP/ISP isn't blocked by M$.

One problem I had was downloading demos from Live. Although I could get on live and play games, Live does know where your 360 is connecting from, and therefore blocked access to d/l demos becuase they're released for US customers (assuming your Live service was registered in the US). One way around this is to use a proxy.

I didn't have mine chipped (you CAN get it done here), but do so at your own risk.

So the problems you began having were due to the eletric conversion?? How did you get on xbox live anyhow? Did you hook it up through a wireless router or straight from a modem? and when you are on live is it a Thai connection or are you still playing with Yanks & Brits?? The reason I ask is because the last time I used my family's and my wife's family's internet connection it was ridiculously f*cking slow! 2min youtube videos took like 10 minutes to download. So you are saying basically. I could bring my 360 from the US and simply need a electricy converter and nothing else? What if you were to have a problem(for instance 3 rings of death). You airmail it back to microsoft no problem??

  9. I was just wondering if I should bring an xbox 360 to Thailand or buy one there. I find the prices for an xbox360 are significantly higher (in TH) than in the US. Although I am nervous that a Us360 in Thailand would require too much maintenance(i.e. voltage adapter, chip to play Asia format games and so on). Is there even xboxlive in Thailand??(I know its might sound dumb but it is a legitimate concern, I need my xboxlive!!). Does anybody with similiar experience have any advice?Does anybody have any good video game connection that cant get a xbox(in TH) for cheap??

  10. I know there are some fellow firearms enthusiasts on this forum somewhere. Anyhow, I was wondering what the rules, regulations, stipulations and conditions are for a foreign citizen bringing legally owned firearms to the Kingdom of Thailand(Specifically KrungThep). Any and all information such as airlines rules and regulations(i.e. packaging, transporting, etc.), paper work or registration when arriving at suvarnabum, etc. on said topic would be much appreciated. :)peeaaccee

Oh no - another gun freak. Guns are for killing people, and you will never get a permit. If you like shooting, go to a range.

I will never get a permit? Is that right? That is an opinion not a fact. Save opinions for when someone asks you for yours. Guns are tools. Only close minded individuals make statements like the one you did. Guess I should've started my reply with a "oh no, another know-it-all judging people and situations without fully understanding whats going on" haha.

  11. never going to happen.... forget about it now

I think you will find as a Farang you can not own guns in Thailand and thus can not import them.

    Here we go again.

This must be a more common discussion than "How much sin-sod do I pay"?

They are not rules and regulations - they are laws.

And it is illegal for a foreigner to own a fire arm in Thailand

    It is a law.

    ...

    e2a - pardon?

Obviously not, More than one person has proved that foreigners can own firearms and do not have to be citizens E-Kwai! Know facts before you speak.

I have seen no PROOF , only statements, do not believe everything you read or hear.

Owning a firearm is quite different to having a license /permit for it , these are two different things.

I did not ask about owning or having a license/permit. so what's your point?

  12. Actually while out shooting with the airsoft gun I met an Italian guy who did manage to get a permit for his 9mm. Apparently if you can prove that you handle a large amount of cash every day then you can get a permit. He has a Non-B and work permit if that makes a difference.

if you prove to an official that you handle a large amount of cash every day you will need a gun

Could you say, you prefer to carry large amounts of cash on you because you do not have a bank account?? How can you prove it?

  13. Cambodia is not really one of those places you go and have a stroll and come back across the border in one piece everytime, you know?

I beg to differ here - I know many people who frequently go to Cambodia but I do not know anyone who has come back in more than one piece :D

Quite right Orac but I think this just proves we know and he doesn't.

I too have never seen anyone come back in more than one piece but only seen the poor Cambodian people with less pieces(Limbs).

    :D

    Dave

:o Just because you have never seen it happen does not mean it can't or won't..

  14. Cambodia is not really one of those places you go and have a stroll and come back across the border in one piece everytime, you know?

I beg to differ here - I know many people who frequently go to Cambodia but I do not know anyone who has come back in more than one piece :o

So then you know of the MILLION PLUS LANDMINES just laying around over there and burma. To be completely honest I don't want to goto cambodia. It is a less civilized and completely unappleaing version of Thailand and beside potentiality to obtain I would not waste my time going there. :D Lonely people will argue about anything..

  15. How would authorities be able to confirm that a foreigner's firearm is for a competition?? So when the (Thai) Citizen comes to the arriving airport in Thailand customs would hold their firearm(s) until they obtain a permit?? And how is it possible to do it from a gun shop? I assume you are speaking of the gunshop the firearm(s) were or will be purchased(outside Thailand)??

On the competition deal I am sure there are papers that clubs pre-file.

As for the Thai citizen import.............

No you need to obtain the permit first.

The reason is you are actually getting a permit to aquire at that point.

So you need to furnish make & model, caliber, barrell length, serial number etc.

At the point of arrival the customs officer will match the info against what you have brought in. Of course you must also follow the airlines rules for transportation.

PS: When I said gun shops I meant they could handle the importation of the firearm once you ( the Thai ) have acquired the permit. I am speaking of a gun shop in Thailand & of course they will be charged import duty etc.

Just to clarify one thing. The customs will provide the (Thai firearm ownership)permit or a temp permit to acquire Thai owner permit after you provide all the necessary info and it is found to be correct and exact? They will check the firearm(s) at the counter where customs process all incoming person(s) after arriving??

Probably cheaper to buy here or take a drive over to Cambodia

That makes sense. I heard firearms in Thailand are 2 and 3 times what they would cost here(in the US) which is why I'm trying to find out if the effort to import(legally of course) would be worth it. Is it pretty easy to locate a dealer in Cambodia or does it help to have a friend who knows someone? Cambodia is not really one of those places you go and have a stroll and come back across the border in one piece everytime, you know?

  17. It is a law.

A certain movie star who travels with his own security was denied permission for his soldiers, sorry, bodyguards to carry wepons in the Kingdom.

This is a person who made several films here and has contacts at giddy altitudes in the administration. He was offered several Boys in Brown on secondment. Wouldnt you know, he refused the generous offer.

Now me, if I needed an assault rifle I would just....hold on. I dont need an assault rifle. Silly me.

I got kinda excited toward the end haha :D " if I needed an assault rifle I would just....hold on. I dont need an assault rifle. Silly me.... :D:o:D "

  18. I think you will find as a Farang you can not own guns in Thailand and thus can not import them.

So lets say for the sake of argument since foreign citizens cannot own or posses firearms, How would a Thai citizen go about importing or bringing firearms to Thailand with them>? :o

The Thai citizen would go to the police chief of their district to file for the permit.

That permit would be shown to customs at time of importation. They could also do the same through a gun shop. ( this I know for sure )

Non Thai's can bring in firearms for sporting competitions only..... afaik

I see and let me just say thank you for reading the whole discussion and offering knowledge instead of opinions and not repeating something that was already said. How would authorities be able to confirm that a foreigner's firearm is for a competition?? So when the (Thai) Citizen comes to the arriving airport in Thailand customs would hold their firearm(s) until they obtain a permit?? And how is it possible to do it from a gun shop? 19. Anyhow, I was wondering what the rules, regulations, stipulations and conditions are for a foreign citizen bringing legally owned firearms to the Kingdom of Thailand(Specifically KrungThep).

They are not rules and regulations - they are laws.

And it is illegal for a foreigner to own a fire arm in Thailand - by logical argument illegal for a foreigner to import a fire arm too.

In that respect I don't see the subject as being much different from importing "controlled substances" that you might be able to own and use in your own country but that are illegal in Thailand.

That being the case, why are these threads discussing something that is illegal left open?

Someone actually posted what you have already if you had bothered to read anything beside the original post you would know that. So I changed the question to how a Thai Citizen would import firearms :o
