ResX, thank you for adding some knowledge and experience to this thread. You are an expert and it would appear that Thailand has very few that are qualified to give advice to the nation, let alone their province, Amphur or village. I don't share on threads as I'll be a Thai basher, which I'm not. Good

I'm not big on replies on threads - but I think you nailed that! But it isn't only Thai!

Fortunately books weren't an issue for me, apart from a large collection of used, old Lonely Planets from various travels. I was only an avid reader whilst travelling & holidays and just used to 'book exchange' wherever I was - and books are heavy!

I'm 330km east of Bangkok in Ta Phraya (Sa Kaew province), 3km from the Cambodian border. I've been out here just over 2 years, though have visited Thailand travelling in 1992 & 94 (7months) and various short holidays on the way to or from Oz/ NZ visiting family & friends. How about you, just emmigrating, or been here a while?
