  1. I was hoping that someone here may be able to give me a hand. I am looking for the contact number for a Moo Ban In Sakhon.   Recently I heard an old friend of mine has become Poo Yai Ban I hear, but I havent had contact with him in many years.  I had been trying to think of how I might be able to get in contact with him, and then I heard that news. I am not sure exactly which moo bad, but I know that it is either Charoen Sin, or Khok Sila, or Ban Lao.  Can anyone tell me how I may be able to get in contact with those district offices to ask for his number? I do have his name, so I assuming once I get in contactwith the right office I will be provided a method of contacting him.

  2. An opening for a period of 3 months (Now until Mid April) on KOH MAK at The Falling KoKoNut Boutique. Our Boutique is very unique on quiet Koh Mak, it is located about 100 meters from the beach. We offer Island fashion and crafts, and we cater mostly to ladies. We need a sales clerk to work a split shift, early morning and early evening shift. Good Salary offered. Total of 9 hours per day. Lodging available at 1,000 THB per month. English speaking Thai national preferred. If interested please call Kevin at 0806224917.

  3. I'm located in Koh Mak, and I need setting up a new Router, installing windows on 2 different computers, and installing firewalls.  I don't trust my skills as they seem to be pretty rusty as I have tried to tackle the task already.  I am looking for someone in Trat, or Koh Chang, or Chantaburui, that could possibly spare a day of their time to give me a hand.  I'll be more than happy to compensate for the time and travel, and put you up at a near by resort room for the night.  You could take the 12:00 or 2:00 pm boats over from Leam Ngob, and leave the following morning.  I'd be very grateful and even through in a couple of Koh Mak T'ees.

Feel free to give me a call at 080-622-4917.

  7. Good Morning all. I'd like to ask fellow forum members if any of you have memberships to the online UK Sunday TImes. There are 3 or 4 articles that are discussing Koh Mak, most from back around 2006. If anyone would be so kind as to maybe do a search and send me a copy of each I would certainly appreciate it, you can PM me for email specifics, I'm living on Koh Mak at the moment, and looking to see what info and how much press is out there about this place.

Yes, I guess I am too cheap for fork out the min of 20 pounds for 13 weeks, followed by a required confirmed received cancellation communication. If I can find a willing fellow, I will be forever grateful, and be in debt to them a beer at some future Thaivisa gathering, If I can't, Ill go suck it up and pay.

Hope to get some information back. Good karma to all, have a great day!

  8. Playing the stockmarket (which is legal btw) has a lot more gambling involved than a game of poker where skills far outweighs luck.

And skydiving provides for lots more risk, but neither provide for the connections that I was posting to find..... Friday poker night with da boyz.

    But thanks for the tip

  9. I play online instead, much safer.

Seriously, I meant getting together with the same (or a few of the same) guys a couple of time a month, getting to know one another's styles (and maybe a little about their life) downing a few beers eating some BBQ steaks (maybe), as the pizza here mostly sucks..... It ain't about money.

In any case, I think from the replies, I can see why it don't happen here too easily. I'll be back to canada in a month for a month, I'll get some time in then.

    Thanks for the replies.

  10. Reminds me of a funny moment a few months ago in Ao Nang, I was sitting enjoying a quiet beer on the beach with my gf (the Last Cafe for any who know the area), I hadn't been there for many years so was simply enjoying the views & quiet peaceful setting when all hell broke loose...out of nowhere at least 3 armed police pounced on a couple of Thais who were playing cards on the beach, the chap was roughly handcuffed while his lady friend made a run for it up the beach with the policeman in hot pursuit...just like a scene from the Keystone Cops :-) The Lady was duly caught and both 'criminals' proudly led away by the BIB!

I agree that Poker isn't quite the same without the stakes but the OP has made it clear he is just after the "camaraderie" or buzz that comes from the game and company (I also love it) so I also wish Quadman luck. p.s. I wouldn't recommend Ao Nang beach as a venue for all 530 of you though :-) (are you really hoping for another 529 players or was that a typo?)

Verbal dictation ...... Should have read 5 to 9
