  1. they are called tall bikes. its nothing new. to answer your question how he gets on and off, its like mounting a horse. you simply jump on and off. as far as its safety, well, I can say because i was riding tall bikes throughout thailand/chiang mai and other parts of asia years ago, the only dangerous thing you would run into is people driving like fools around you. riding it is exactly the same as any other bike. your are just up higher.

  2. as was said, before it became an extension of despair and sickness, it was a lovely bar that hosted weekly buffets of awesomeness, performances, relaxed vibe with cozy atmosphere. those days are long long gone. I noticed many places like that in Chiang Mai. Places that represented a brief moment in time, did their own thing, did it very well, added to the community of people in that moment. but ultimately fell off and vanished due to someone being taken advantage of, something being mismanaged.

    now its just a headache.

  3. Last month there was a performer at a well known stage here in Hua Hin. He bought 4 beautifull doves intending to use them for the show but never did. When his gig was over he simply abondoned the doves. Now the doves receive very little care. I have been looking after them but I will not be around much longer. If theres anyone who would like to take on 4 doves as pets, nows your chance. I know what will happen if nobody takes them: their health will diminish and they will die.

pm me if youd like to have them.

  4. the owners im sure did the numbers, but thats all they did. no consideration for the traffic, or the community. just build it and they will come mentality. how brainwashed people can be. one can scream "I love my country and I want my country free of corruption", as they drive to the new mall to sip a starbucks and make believe they are getting an experience.

  5. I wouldnt go so far to say its classical European design, but its a very fascinating design indeed. I have walked inside of it and did a little exploring (2 years ago)....this place blows my mind. First thing I thought was, who the heck designed this place? The proportions of the rooms, doors, are all out of wack. The only logical guess I can make is that whoever had the money to build it, had just that, money. Its lavish in a very tacky package. The one time I walked around in it I found a newspaper dated 1997. Theres really no sense to ask anyone here any specifics on the place because im confident nobody will know. Everyone will say its haunted. Thats the only fact you will get. If you can walk around the property I suggest you do so, you will know what I mean about the proportions being out of wack. Im also sure its going to be an eyesore for the next several decades. Just look at buildings still standing from the bubble crash...nobody cares.

  6. you can buy Leathermans at the archery shop. as you drive towards the moat, with Airport plaza behind you, just as you come to that corner of the moat you will take a left. There is signs for the archery shop, so keep an eye out. so make that left and drive down a bit and you will see a shop selling bows, arrows, camping gear and the blades you seek. hope this helps.

  7. Just got back from Cicada market and saw a balloon artist twisting cool balloons. Best part she was without all the scary clown makeup most balloon people wear. She was putting smiles on everyones face. Good to see something different.

  8. yeah i hear your frustration. I seek out Thai local tailors. But since im new in town I resorted in having a look at the flooded tailor shops around Hilton. Even though I was clear I only wanted to look at the fabric they still get mad at me just for being there. Always made me uncomfortable to be around them.
