Grout is never a barrier to water. If the pool is leaking, almost 90% of the time, its in the piping. Every now and then, we get a structural leak, but this is extremely rare even in the worst possible construction. Best to drain, pressure test all piping works.

Grout IS a barrier if the proper ingredients are mixed with the grout, as well as grout sealers.

Poorly constructed walls of the pool without the proper admix can also result in cracks.

You can pressure test the pipes without having to drain the pool.

Don't always listen to the doctor.........

Thanks guys for the info. My small pool is above ground and the only piping is to my Filter Pump so thats not the problem. It must be the Grout as the guy who built the pool maybe mixed it wrong. What I will do is grind out the old grout and put in new grout. Hopfully that will fix it.

The Centara is a wonderful place to stay but when you walk out of it, the area around is not 5 star, riding around on your moto and drinking beer is what Samui is all about but you will be in magnificent scenery and every ride will be a pleasure, I cant think of any 1 thing that stands out about Samui it is the whole experience, thats why I live here. There are no shopping malls but the shopping is amazingly good.

Stayed recently at the ISTANA Hotel, central for everything and the hotel was wonderful will stay there again on our next visit.

I am all for some caning at school. I was caned and it did not leave permanent damage just made me realise how bad I had been and I was petrified of my parents finding out or I would then have been in serious trouble. Nowadays children do as they like and dont realise when they are doing wrong, even my dogs know they are doing wrong if I show them a cane. England is in a terrible state now with children not being caned and I would hate to think that Thailand was going the same path, perhaps the caning should be done by the Headmaster to eliminate sadistic teachers.

Sure something could be done - but there is no political will to change the status-quo in favour of Farangs. I don't think you have to have 400,000 baht in the Bank for three months. If you can prove a certain level of monthly income, which I believe is 40,000 that meets the requirement instead of depositing 400,000 baht on which you receive no interest by the way.

We orders supplements from usa and they are sent by post from Singapore, we occasionally had to pay some duty but lately the ammount has increased considerably and we are wondering if the post office employees are just adding something for themselves as the ammount is only written on the package with no paperwork. We once had to go to the customs office to pay and collect our supplements and were informed that it was illegal to import food, when we told them that we were 20 years older than we actually are and looked so young because of our supplements they were very cooperative.

We sent some money from SCB chaweng to family in Cambodia, we were charged for sending , family were charged for collecting but they said "all the money is not here can you check with your bank" our SCB said trouble at cambodian bank but after confirming with family the money was missing from this end, when I tackled them about it I was cold shouldered and still are, they did'nt like it when I pointed out to them that they are paid to look after my money not to lose it, it has never been resolved if I mention it they just walk away.
