    Food...

Kai - (as already mentioned) is excellent, as is the Buffet at the Marriott (Goji - one of the best in BKK).

Windsor suites I enjoyed staying before, had a great gym. Now been closed since after covid.

Top floor of Emquartier has a Virgin gym and excellent lap pool but the best thing there is the jacuzzi pool...really worth trying once just for the experience....towels provided but a whopping 800 Baht I think for single use.

Its over 5k Baht a month for membership so I moved to Phra Khanong.

  3. Marriott Soi 2 has an excellent gym...not the best pool for size and I'm struggling to think of a great one in a hotel in lower Sukhumvit....I use one in Phra Khanong called Opus...superb 25m pool and always quiet....the Marriott has a good jacuzzi and sauna however.

For eats I suggest the Italian, Via Emilia...you need to book however....for a superb krapow try Krapow Gapae off Asoke.

Which is the fallen gem, New Wave or the Biergarten?

New wave was decent...the beer garden legendary in yhe old days...if 2014 it would be New Wave...previously the garden no quedtion.

"You were on your way to the beer garden...".

Dreadful, dreadful place, would never drink there.  It's only saving grace was the pork chops and mashed spuds on a couple of very hungry occasions and then a rapid dart out back to New Wave.

It was a glorious den of iniquity back in the early noughties with freaks of all genders prancing around and holding court.

    A fallen gem.

That bar ("Thaivisa Lounge") was the second iteration of the infamous New Wave, Soi 7, after the land on the corner was sold to be redeveloped and was owned by the successful 'Frenchman', 'Patrick', it was not owned by Thaivisa.   Thaivisa put a bit of money in it and used it temporarily, putting their name on the alley side of New Wave's frontage.

Don't drag this thread into mediocrity with facts and truth please Lou.

You were on your way to the beer garden anyway admit it.

Cuti had an unusual poor game for him, but that Van de ven, what a defender. You picked up a diamond with that guy.

Yep he could be world class if he keeps on progressing...Dragusin and Romero too...and great wing backs.

Shame about our midfield and hot and cold strikeforce.
