  1. This boy was the only son of a lady who owns the flower shop next to the car care (opposite the temple) in bangtao I used to go to buy flowers there he always used to smile and his mother is a very nice lady.. so so sad may he R.I.P

My friend saw the shooter carrying the body to his tuck, he seemed like he was already dead, the police havent yet brung the shooter to make the reactment and the local people are talking about protesting again soon! it seems the only way they get the police to listen.

  2. I know of 1 foreign person in Surin Beach area to have just recovered and another 2 thai people in the same area just recovered it took them about 10-14 days to recover¬!

  3. German still in Phuket juvenile after 3 months

PHUKET CITY: Despite efforts by the German Embassy, a young man arrested on charges of sexually abusing minors remains in detention at the Phuket Juvenile Observation and Protection Center almost three months after his arrest.

The youth, who was just 17 when he was arrested on March 9, recently spent his 18th birthday behind bars.

His arrest, together with that of his alleged co-conspirator Dax Young of Britain, followed an investigation by the Department of Special Investigations (DSI) and Kathu Police.

For previous accounts of the youth’s arrest click here and here .

After he was taken into custody for conspiring with the alleged pedophile to molest young schoolboys in Patong, there has been little progress in the German diplomatic mission’s efforts to have the youth freed.

The German diplomatic mission in Thailand sees the young man as a victim and not a perpetrator.

“There is no update in the case,” said German Honorary Consul for Phuket Dirk Naumann.

Mr Naumann earlier told the Gazette he was confident the youth was not sexually attracted to boys, but was forced by dire financial circumstances to do the Briton’s bidding as a way of helping his family.

The young man’s mother is seriously ill with chronic respiratory disease. She has required expensive hospital treatment on several occasions since the family moved to Thailand around four years ago.

“I visited the boy last week. He is in good spirits and hoping the Thai prosecutor and police will see it the same way as everyone else, that he is a victim and not a perpetrator,” Mr Neumann said.

“The boy has now got his own lawyer. He is no longer represented by the same lawyer as the British Man [Dax Young],” he added.

The Gazette contacted the Bangkok firm representing the youth, whose Swiss legal advisor said he was unable to comment on the case because it is still under investigation.

The lack of media attention to the three-month detention of a minor comes in stark contrast to the case of Australian housewife Annice Smoel , whose arrest and two-day detention in a Patong jail cell made headlines across the globe.

After confessing to the theft and returning to Melbourne, the mother of four thanked the Australian media for helping to expedite her passage through the normally slow Thai criminal justice system.

  4. quote]

They may be able to sell to an unsuspecting buyer, but the buyer is going to be in trouble later. I know of one case where the purchaser was refused a building permit in Patong for a swimming pool because the house was over 80 m, even though he produced the "approved" building plans for the house. Another case I know of at Surin Beach where the purchaser could not re-sell because the new buyer was more careful.

Good point they could sell to an unsuspecting buyer...I heard recently that they are changing the laws soon and you will be able to build lower than the 80 m. I wanted to buy some land in patong and build my own home because I heard it is cheaper but the land is too high so I am waiting for the law to change!

  5. Another example of Thai impulsiveness. Insanity.

Anyway, I'm off to UK on a new ticket to have a break from the madness which is Phuket.

Wow, you learned a few lessons!

-Best friend of 12 years is no friend at all.

-Don't go to the police unless dozens unknown people tell you to do so

-1.3 million savings statement are debt

-Police are polite, helpful and speak good English. And solve cases in about 4 hours. But you have to wait almost another full day to get your stuff back (yes, I stole everything but i cannot give it back now. Is tomorrow okay?)

Lucky you were " firm, and politely not put up with any nonsense"

-She ownes 2 houses but lives in a rented room

She actually invited you to the place? "She has removed walls etc, ruining the place"

So, is she in jail now? I reckon you kissed and made up. No need to make any enemies.

I'm sure you'll be back soon to the Phuket madness.

Well, there's an analysis which is comprehensive, interesting, convincing, and wrong in nearly every respect, from someone who does not know the parties and wasn't there.

Try some between-line reading, sir, there is a lot more to this which I would prefer not to divulge on a public forum. Except to say that the matter is closed to the satisfaction of all parties. Bye.

ps Unless perhaps you are one of the people mentioned in the various PMs? If so please identify yourself.

aww why not divulge....you told us everything else about your personal life! LOL

Are you sure they are debts, thats what they all say wanting you to pay them!

  6. So how come Lersuang got caught trying to build over the 80 m limit when other developers are getting away with it.

those that successfully build and sell above 80m can because they know how - its all part of being a developer

if not don't buy the land in the first place

Those who successfully build and sell above 80m should be put in prison i should think because IT IS ILLEGAL to build over that height unless the laws at that time are otherwise, if any officials were to actually become aware of a development that did not meet the required maximum height they can be pulled down. Its not part of being a developer at all, its more about who knows who, as with everything in thailand you can do anything if you know the right people (or pay the right people)........

  7. Id keep this clean if I was you otherwise the post will be removed by the gazette. I dont think they want their story here before people have read it!

    Is that a threat ??

Are you insinuating the gazette will lean on ThaiVisa to control the content of forum posts they dont like ?? If so source please.. if not what do you mean ??

    A very interesting post..

Sorry that's not what I meant Probably shouldn't have included the IF I WAS YOU part! I was referring to the second post that was written about this site being sponsored by PG and didn't want it to be closed that was all! For all we know they may check to see what people are writing ...sorry if sounded otherwise.

  8. you to join TV and defend them with your first post

If you would check better you would see that I didnt just join!

probably because THEY DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO CONTACT LERSUANG!!!

you know this for a fact do you? I assume you will be equally sceptical of the reporting standards of the Gazette?

As I said I am a close friend and what have the Gazette done wrong???? They did contact them after all!

what do you mean by sweat pea....????

its not up to me to defend them, im sure they can defend theirselves... Id keep this clean if I was you otherwise the post will be removed by the gazette. I dont think they want their story here before people have read it!

  9. Very sad that the Phuket Gazette comes up with such responses to stories such as this. Instead of pressing the developer for an immediate response, they accept this 'coming soon' kind of attitude. Don't they realise that most countries recognise this kind of response as being corrupt in the sense that they do not want to upset their sponsors!!!! Shame on the Phuket Gazette. Get the facts and print them, otherwise keep taking the advertising money and admit you are not a NEWSpaper anymore. People are not interested in 'managed' responses i.e. we'll talk about it again next week/preparing a special report! Either the story is true, or not. Print it, and stand by the principle of honest reporting. The very fact that they reported it as a 'One sided news report' is a joke, the opportunity is there to make it a 'two sided news report' and only the Phuket Gazette failed to make it such.

As a very close friend of the Lersuang group and a buyer of one of their homes, I will answer this for them (hope they dont mind). :)

from what I have heard The Phuket Gazette contacted Lersuang late last week, they spoke over the telephone and Lersuang answered their questions although, they decided to do a face to face interview to get out the full story to everyone and to show proof of any of the answers to the phuket gazette, the interview didn't take place until earlier on this week (I believe it has already been done), the reason being is that the story is quite complex as everything in the Mirror has been totaly fabricated probably because THEY DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO CONTACT LERSUANG!!! (hence the phuket gazette saying one side story!) In fact Lersuang didn't know anything about the article until it came out! I dont think that the mirror even contacted Joe Cole as it doesn't say they did, it was more than likely a story built up by angry buyers and investors, who dont actually know the truth. (which unfortunately is Lersuangs fault for not putting it straight in the first place, but im sure they have their reasons and hopefully all will tell in the next phuket gazette issue.) I dont know everything although I do know that Joe Cole did not put a penny into the project in the first place and I dont think he would say he did (hence the article couldnt have come from Joe Cole). I think it is common knowlege in companies that work with Lersuang around here that they are not the owners of Hua Hin Country Club they are actually just shareholders (but the buyers couldnt possibly have known this as it has never been told and after all Lersaung were promoting it). Before I go off the TOPIC I think the answer to the questions on why the phuket gazette didnt write up the story last week is possibly because they just couldnt do it in time and wanted the face to face interview to ge the truth, they probably just wrote that brief explanation so people knew they were following up on it although maybe they should have just left it until they wrote the article. I dont think it is fair for people to say that the gazette is protecting their advertisers because as someone who follows properties in phuket I haven't seen an adverisment in the Phuket Gazette from Lersuang in a very long time! I hope that Lersuang gives their full side of the story as it is only fair and I will be looking foward to reading it..........
