So far we have a "take-away-queen" and an "egg-queen".

I would call my wife a "sausage queen", she runs our little sausage business very well and is able to produce up to 40kg of sausages per day.

Any more "queens" out there???

Next work out the value of these assets

Next which of these could you sell and at what price?

For example if you have a house/apartment - you might be better of selling it and renting a small apartment?

You have some income? Is this a shop?

It will really help if you sit down with your wife and write everything down.

it's actually a really shithouse move by shearer this, he can't lose. they go down, he joined them too late etc and he walks away. if they stay up he's the second coming of the lord. where was he when they really wanted him, post-keegan?

This is desperate move but more for the owner as a drop will devalue the club. So Shearer is a fool for taking the offer, but I suspect he's done it for the money!! I'm no fan of him so I hope personally he flops, but I feel for the fans and they deserve better then the Owner and Shearer. So I hope he can keep them in the Prem. I hope they get rid of Owen too!!!

I thought I would share our recent experiance of using AsiaRooms with other members of ThaiVisa.

We booked our chosen hotel in Bangkok through the AsiaRooms website, well in advance of the date we intended to stay there. However, on our arrival at the hotel, sorry we don't have a room for you, full up. I contacted AsiaRooms via telephone, the person who answered wanted to speak to the hotel staff which he did, on my mobile. After the conversation had finished my phone was given back to me, the AsiaRooms representative had gone and we still did not have a room. We ended up stoping in a "short time hotel" on Nana which was not up to the required standard, well not where you take your Wife anyway.

I have contacted AsiaRooms regarding a refund, no refund as the hotel has charged us for your stay. But we did not stay there, sorry no refund as the hotel has charged us for your stay, you get the picture.

I did contact the group/chain of hotels directly and informed them of our experiance, to thier credit they offered us a complimentary stay for two nights in any of thier hotels in Thailand. We have since enjoyed real hospitality at one of thier resorts in the North and will certainly use them again. I can't say the same for AsiaRooms, so be carefull, AsiaRooms will take your money, but you may not get what you paid for, or as in our case you may get nothing at all except a credit card bill.

I have booked several times with AsiaRooms and have never had problems (and even a discounted refund for a cancellation).

But will note your experience as may be their services and standards are following!!

Just one question, if you had booked with a credit card can you not get a refund from your credit card company, are we not proctected? That's why I tend to book using a C/Card!

I will be needing a bigger Taxi to go from the Victory Monument to BKK Airport, like a station-wagon or similar.

I have a flat-packed rack of about 150cm x 60cm so a normal taxi is not enough.

I wonder, is there a phone-number to call the for pre-booking from the Taxi-Meter company?

Any other suggestions?

I are you staying in an hotel? Expalin to them but insist you want a meter taxi. They will find one for you.

Even better, once you have explained to them, ask them to come with you outside the hotel and get them to speak to one of the "meter taxi" drivers, I'm sure they will find one for you.

Best leave for airport early morning to avoid the traffic and even paying the toll!!!

You're right, the Democrats planted the seeds and George Bush and his team watered that plant daily. Bush also encouraged low income people to buy houses they can't afford.

He spent billions on an unnecessary war in Iraq (although, I think we should of blew Afghanistan to pieces).

He created the Medicare prescription drug program. This is an endless entitlement that will end up costing trillions. And who will benifit from this, the big pharmacy companies.

America is in deep trouble in the future. And with Americans like me, the future doesn't look too bright.

But Bush should never have been voted in for a 2nd term!!!

He borrowed USD$1 trillon from the Chinese to fight the Iraq war, that's where it all went wrong.

We Brits suffered as Blair was doing a good job before he got sucked (hood winked) into the Iraq war!!!

As to the credit crunch well all the world started living by the USA method ie by debt!!!

The USA always got away with it because Oil, Gold,etc are traded in USD!!!

But then the rest of the world started to live by borrowing and more borrowing. And in Europe and mainly in the UK, "hedge funds" dealers starting trading in every biz they were allowed in, remember this is "paper" trading not real trading and stupidly all the banks got involved in this and starting lending money out on "paper" also!!! so now the bubble burst!!!

Countries like China and India made fortunes in real trading not "paper". Infact China is probably holding more dollars then the USA itself!!!

But in London next week the G20 will sort all our problems!!!...I think NOT!!

One thing I found funny was that Thaksin thanked the Thai goverment for holding his fortune as he said he would have probably invested and would have lost most of it anyway!!!

I guess it comes down to this. Do I love my wife more then Pattaya? If I love my wife more, I'll stay here. If I love Pattaya more, I'll move to Pattaya. I think it would be impossible for me to leave my wife for Pattaya. I read so many horror stories about girls using and spitting out their falang husbands. How can they be so heartless? I don't read too many horror stories about the reverse.

Hi have you discussed with your wife what she wants, apart from children? In the USA are you close by your family (parents,siblings,etc?).

If she wants to live in Thailand now, will it be near her family? This is where you will serious problems, as they will influence her. Does she family members who have married non-thais?

The style of life change you will go thru will be huge but could be very good!!

I find it strange that she would want to move away from the USA!!!

Good luck but please please consider the point that when you marry an asian you are marrying into and extended family and you must get that point to your wife and have a compromise!!!

I have always paid by credit card, was wondering if it is cheaper to pay by debit card. I understand you get more protection from credit card. Since i will be booking the return ticket from Thailand, is it better to pay in pound sterling or Thai baht. Never really thought about it before, need to save money. I thank you for thoughts.

Hi if it's a well know and big airline then d/card, but if it's thru an agent or cheap airline then c/card as if they go bust you are safe!

Paying in Thaibaht/Sterling - check the rate, you can do this using the exchange converter. As sterling is so dire at the moment it's worth looking at this now. What about spending money? Again you may get a better rate from a UK bank (9 months ago you better off buying the baht in Thailand, again check the rate with a UK bank and compare with a Thai Bank (Check website Bangkok Bank) Most banks in Thailand offer around the same rate

Isn't this the case everywhere? As an british-born (in East Africa) Indian but brought up in the UK, I have always lived with racism even though the "majority" are trying to insert the view that UK is a "multi-cultrual" society!! But I have found that in the UK and probably in the rest of the world, "money" always opens the doors for you anywhere!!!
