  1. Most of you probably are aware of this, but finishing grass-fed beef on grains negates all the health benefits (omega-3/omega-6 balance) of grass-fed beef. That is a separate issue from taste/texture, of course, but if health is what you're interested in, then 100% grass-fed is the way to go.

For the antibiotics, hormones, etc, there is a lot of it in Thai beef and often in the feed as well.

Good suggestions on goat meat. Marinated and tenderized it can be great.

  2. CrossFit Chiang Mai is now an official CrossFit affiliate.

The first CF affiliate in Thailand, and one of only a few in all of SE Asia.

    Go to cfcnx.com for more!

We are NOT YET open to the public, as our gear is not all here, and the gym is still under construction. But the concrete pad is down, and the roof is up.

And we are crushing our students and staff with WODs most every day. :-)

Drop us an email (through cfcnx.com) if you want to drop by and say hello.

We're working on planning when we open to the public -- probably in January. But if you're really keen, we can maybe work something out...

  3. Here's an update on CrossFit Chiang Mai.

We've got an instructor coming out in about 3 weeks, and should get our CrossFit affiliation up and running mid August.

I've got a container of equipment getting shipped over here (from Rogue Fitness and Again Faster) and that will be here in mid-September.

If anyone knows of a good local store to get barbells and bumper plates, let me know (I'm going to check the place out across from Yuparat on Saturday). We need to get a couple of barbells and some plates before the shipment gets here.

    I'll keep you posted.

Just to keep you posted on the equipment, we've ordered rings, barbells and bumper plates, kettle bells, dumbbells, Concept 2 rowers, Rage balls (medicine balls), squat racks, plyoboxes, ab mats and a GHD.

We're going to make our own pull up bars and parrallettes, and other misc. gear (sand bags, etc.).

So keep following the mainpage WODs, and we'll let you know when we open. We're doing this mostly for our own teams of instructors and students, but will be open to the public if there is interest. No idea about prices yet, but we're working on that -- it will be reasonable. The goal is to have a committed community working hard, not to make a lot of money. As long as we cover our running costs, I'm happy.

  4. We're working on setting up a CrossFit gym here. A friend of ours is a CrossFit affiliate (CrossFit Malibu) and he may be coming out in the next few months to get something going.

    I'll keep you posted.

Also, any idea where to by a set of rings in CM?
