  1. I usually get a Non-O Visa with Single entry. After three months (90 days) I go and re-apply for another.

The last time I went I received a multiple entry Non-O (first time).

One of my friends says that anytime before the 90 days is up, let’s say 80 days, I can go across the border, spend the night and upon returning to Thailand,

the 90 days start over again, so I have another 90 days. Another friend says that that when I return, I will only get the other 10 days that remain on the original 90 days.

I have tried searching for the answer to this question and I have found lots about the Enter Before date but I have not found anything on the above question.

I think that I would be able to return and get another 90 days, but I want to be sure before I do it.

Any helpful answers would be appreciated.

I am a contractor working all over the world and sometimes I am here for a short time period and sometimes over 90 days.

(For anyone wondering why this is the first time I asked for a multiple entry)

  2. Where I live, 66 Km outside KKC, they grow cucumbers, tomatoes, watermelons, corn, yams, cassava and peanuts. Water is needed of course, except for the peanuts, they need very little each watering. Another fact about peanuts is that it replenishes the nitrogen in the soil where rice eats it up. That is why they are always fertilizing with nitrogen pellets and other stuff.

    Just my two satang worth.

  3. The software company has released a security update that shuts off

the desktop feature out of concerns that hackers could get into a user’s

    system.

Microsoft has issued a security advisory

urging users to install an update that disables the Sidebar and Gadgets

features on Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems due to a

    potential security vulnerability.

The security advisory warns that a hacker could get into a users

system through an insecure Gadget running in Sidebar, execute arbitrary

code and wreak havoc on the system. The Sidebar, as its name implies, is

a section of the desktop real estate that lies to one side of the

screen. Gadgets running in Sidebar are various tools, created with small

amounts of code, which a user can see at a glance while working on

their computer, such as a clock, the local temperature, a news headline

feed or a stock ticker.Gadgets installed from untrusted sources

can harm your computer and can access your computer's files, show you

objectionable content, or change their behavior at any time,

  4. 66 kms NW of Khon Kaen, 300 bhat/day. When I moved up here 18 years ago, it was everyone help each other for free, good eats and lots of fun. Now...people won't even talk for anything less than 300. Lots of things have changed, but this is one of the saddest.

  5. I just extended my Non-Imm O (marriage) for another year. The money had to be in for two months, and also they added another paper to be filled out which I have never had to fill out before. It is the police check, which is written in Thai and has all the questions you would need for a police check. Mothers name, fathers name, how many children your mother had, how you met your wife, where, etc. I had my wife fill it out and she was quite confused on some questions such as what I do at home. She wanted to say I worked at the farm, or worked in the village (helping around mostly), but I said don't put "work" anywhere.

  6. If the garbage collection service isn't in your village, talk to your phuyaiban and ask him to talk to the kam nan, who is the

lowest official appointed by the government. I have lived in my village on/off for 16 years and we finally got garbage collection, 10 Bhat/month. Patience is a virtue.

  7. Sometimes when you get to the Laos border, there are a lot of people who don't know what the heck they are doing or supposed to do. I have found it a lot easier to get the visa in Khon Kaen prior to going. That way all you have to do is get the one entry form at the border, fill it in and off you go to the passport control booth. You don't have to line up behind everyone who thinks it's okay to shove their way in front of you.

This is only my opinion after living in Khon Kaen province for 15 years and doing the visa run many, many times before I finally got my O visa.
